Chapter 1133: Chapter 1105: A Jug of Old Jealousy Spilled
No wonder Apiao called Qian to say that Yu Minglang’s test results were all normal.
His unique personality makes it impossible to detect any abnormalities, yet the illness truly exists.
It’s exactly contrary to the hypochondria Qian encountered before; that was about having no illness yet constantly believing oneself to be ill, while Yu Minglang is ill but no one can detect it, yet the illness is real.
The initial treatment progress was nearly zero; one could say it had no effect at all.
Qian felt an unprecedented sense of defeat.
Instead, Yu Minglang comforted her, advising her not to rush and take things slowly.
Watching his calm demeanor made Qian’s heart ache again. She used all her abilities for the treatment, but he still headed along the trajectory of his previous life without turning back.
Is she really going to watch him bury his sadness deep down, becoming a man whose personality is completely different?
Strictly speaking, Qian didn’t dislike Yu Minglang’s calm nature from his previous life; she even quite liked it.
If his maturity was due to the passage of time, Qian would absolutely welcome it, but this wasn’t a natural ripening; it was forced growth.
After the treatment, Yu Minglang went to the company again, and Qian didn’t stop him. At this moment, it’s better to let him have something to do rather than stay at home staring at each other.
As soon as he left, Qian grabbed the questionnaires he had completed and frantically searched through them, trying to find a breakthrough within.
Time passed little by little until Beauty came over, pushing her empty food bowl against Qian, and Qian realized it was almost dark.
"Green Tea, are you hungry? I’ll get you some dog food." Qian got up to prepare food for Beauty. After finishing, she wanted to continue her research, but Beauty held onto her pant leg and wouldn’t let go, making soft whining sounds, seemingly acting spoiled.
"Good Green Tea, I’m fine."
Qian petted its head. With Xiaoqiang ill, she and Green Tea Mei had developed a mutual bond.
Especially after Qian cried outside and fainted at home, even Beauty noticed that her feelings for Yu Minglang were not as indifferent as she previously thought. This recognition led Beauty to accept Qian as one of its owners and stopped causing mischief at home.
Qian even felt it wasn’t truly hungry; it just saw her bored in the study and came to distract her. If an animal is so emotional, let alone a person.
Qian continued her battle with the questionnaires. After realizing how difficult a breakthrough was, she suddenly had a flash of inspiration.
Yes, when she can’t handle it herself, she can seek external help!
Qian gathered the questionnaires and some case summaries she had drawn up, and headed directly to Mr. Liu’s house. Coincidentally, Mr. Liu had guests, including another domestic authority in psychology who came for academic discussions, who had a special identity.
Upon seeing Qian arrive, Mr. Liu beamed and hurriedly brought her over.
"Little Cannonball, you arrived just in time. This is Mr. Wu, come and meet him. Ah, Wu, this is my most accomplished student, Chen Xiaoqian, the exceptionally talented and perceptive girl I’ve been telling you about."
"Oh, it’s her? So young." Mr. Wu said with a broad smile, noting that he was just talking about this child with Liu.
Today, Qian had all her thoughts focused on Yu Minglang and didn’t pay attention to this.
She greeted the glasses-wearing old man, exchanged a few casual words, then shifted the topic to the main point.
"Teacher, I recently did a questionnaire for someone and I feel something is off. I want to show it to you." Qian didn’t mention that it was Yu Minglang who had the issue, vaguely leaving out the background and not talking about it, merely handing over the questionnaire.
Mr. Liu knew Qian’s capabilities. For her to seek him out, she must have hit a snag, and since Mr. Wu was there, he invited Mr. Wu to look as well.
"Wu, let’s take a look together."
While they were reviewing, Qian set her sights on Mr. Wu.
Why does this old man seem so familiar? She didn’t notice when she first came in, but now up close, he seems exceedingly familiar.
Oh, she remembered!!!
Isn’t this the honorary head of the Mental Health Association from her previous life?!
Essentially, it’s the management team of this industry. Every field has a designated institution responsible for managing and guiding various tasks, just like a writer’s association for writers or art associations for calligraphers. That’s the kind of place it is.
This old man didn’t think highly of Qian in her previous life, especially during the later years when she charged high fees and almost had her license revoked and her studio qualification canceled on the grounds of disrupting industry norms.
Yet in her previous life, Qian’s connections were extensive, with major figures in various fields supporting her. When the old man tried to revoke her license, many of Qian’s backers stood up for her; otherwise, she would have indeed lost her qualification.
Unexpectedly, she encountered this old man here.
While Qian was reminiscing these old stories, Mr. Liu finished reading, as did Mr. Wu.
"Wu, what do you think?" Mr. Liu asked.
"This is an extraordinarily healthy psychological questionnaire. The personality is resolute and filled with a sense of justice; there’s no problem." Mr. Wu replied.
Mr. Liu furrowed his brows slightly, without speaking.
"Teacher, what do you think?" Qian asked Mr. Liu.
"There’s something odd, but I can’t pinpoint it. Little Cannonball, have you encountered a problem?"
Mr. Liu didn’t speak as definitively as Mr. Wu; instead, he left room for doubt.
Even though, on the surface, as Mr. Wu described, this is an extremely healthy test result, the fact that it was so healthy—almost every question answered with the highest score—made Mr. Liu feel there was something odd.
"Yes, I have encountered a problem." Qian said with a worried expression.
Before Mr. Liu could comfort her, Mr. Wu spoke.
"Young people don’t need to rush when encountering problems. You are still young, and the future of this industry depends on you."
Although spoken kindly, it made Qian look at him several more times.
No, this old man was the one who disliked her most in the later years, wishing to revoke her license and kick her out of the industry; why is he so kind now?
"Yes, as Wu said, Little Cannonball, what problem did you run into? Feel free to share; the three of us can discuss it together." Mr. Liu also comforted Qian.
The two had been friends for many years; they met at today’s exchange and Mr. Liu invited him over, talking about Qian, and just as Qian arrived. Mr. Liu intended to introduce his most proud student with a sense of pride, and coincidentally Qian came along.
"Actually, it’s nothing..." Qian couldn’t reveal Yu Minglang’s matters. She understood her responsibility to keep it confidential. She stared blankly at Mr. Wu, who laughed under her gaze.
"What, do you see a flowery pattern on my old man’s face? Haha, when I was younger, I was a handsome chap, to use today’s terms. Isn’t that right, Liu?" Mr. Wu joked.
Mr. Liu laughed too, "Indeed, back then Wu was quite the handsome guy in our class."
This playful banter was overheard by Wu, who returned just now, causing him to stop in his tracks, his heart instantly bubbling with old jealousy.
