Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss
Chapter 1259 - 1231: Thinking Carefully, She’s Kind of Cute
Chapter 1259: Chapter 1231: Thinking Carefully, She’s Kind of Cute
Mr. Jia really couldn’t believe that there were such foolish people in the world, and that fool was actually his son!!
Who did he think he was confronting?
This Jia really thought he was fearless like a newborn calf, not thinking much of Mr. Yu’s authority. To put it bluntly, he was brainless for daring to clash with the Yu Family with Mr. Yu’s presence there.
The elder brother, his wife, and Qian all watched with amused expressions, oh my, standing up to Mr. Yu?
Alright, that’s bold!
"Dad, I don’t understand why you’re giving in to him. You two aren’t in the same office; how can he control you? His family bullied my mom, so what’s wrong with me bringing some guys over to vent for her? Is it okay for your second son to show off and fight other people’s sons, but not okay for me to stand up for my mom?" This third son still wasn’t convinced.
"Third one, stop talking!" Mrs. Jia, though foolish, wasn’t entirely senseless. Seeing her husband’s expression, she knew trouble was brewing and quickly pulled her son back. But this Jia was born with a little oxygen deficiency and wasn’t very smart, yet was stubborn beyond belief. The more he was held back, the more he wanted to speak.
"You want to compare yourself to your second brother?!" Mr. Jia nearly choked. How could this situation be the same as when Qingyun got into a fight?
Years ago, the second son had once kicked and fractured the bone of some playboy. When the sides arranged a brawl, Qingyun took ten guys and defeated dozens on the other side. Jia had always been stewing over this, thinking that his father not only didn’t criticize the second son but also commended him. He thought it was finally his turn to shine.
He believed his father preferred sons who stood against authority. Since the second son was praised for standing against authority, why was he any different?
There was a world of difference, Mr. Jia was inwardly on fire with rage.
The guy Qingyun beat up had a criminal record, and his family’s background couldn’t be compared to the Yu Family at all. Beating them up then was convenient for Mr. Jia’s positioning and was advantageous for his future, but this third son...
Mr. Jia sighed. If only this third son had one-tenth of the second son’s shrewdness.
"Oh, taking so many people, looking to gather a crowd for a fight?" Mr. Yu said coldly, but internally felt a bit sympathetic to Mr. Jia. Having such a son, was he afraid no one would grab his weak points?
No wonder there was no news of Mr. Jia’s wife and son, hidden away in their hometown. Trouble erupted as soon as they came over, proving hopelessly incorrigible.
"No! Yu, you see, it’s all kids playing around. The reason he took so many people was that—right! To help with my second daughter-in-law’s moving company. You see, our family has it tough too, just hardworking folks..."
Mr. Jia was all smiles and playing the pitiful card, afraid of Mr. Yu losing his temper.
"Dad, our family isn’t poor—ah!" The third son was kicked by his father, causing him to clutch his groin in pain.
"Pfft!" Qian couldn’t hold it in, and the sister-in-law turned around, coughing, to keep her composure!
"Jia! Why are you kicking our son! If you break him, our family line will end!" Mrs. Jia was shocked, and Mr. Jia’s veins throbbed in anger.
"Shut up! Embarrassing fool, go back to your hometown later. Don’t stay here and humiliate me!" Turning around, he bowed with nods to Mr. Yu.
"Yu, sorry to let you see this joke. To be honest, my third son had slight oxygen deprivation when he was born, so his thinking doesn’t match regular folks... Please show mercy on account of him being disadvantaged."
"Jia! How dare you say my son is stupid? The doctor said he’s just a bit slow to react, not an idiot!" Mrs. Jia was again unclear about the situation.
Mrs. Yu and the sister-in-law clicked their tongues simultaneously, and Qian also bowed her head.
Oh, truly sympathizing with Mr. Jia and recently returned Qingyun.
"Qian, what do you say?" Mr. Yu asked Qian, as today’s incident offended his daughter-in-law. If Qian said it couldn’t be overlooked, then it wouldn’t be over.
"Forget it, Dad. From what I see, this uncle is really... having a hard time." Qian glanced at Mr. Jia, who nodded repeatedly, and Qian added.
"But there’s nothing we can do about your son’s situation either."
"We?" Mr. Jia was puzzled.
"My fourth daughter-in-law is a psychologist," Mrs. Yu added.
"While we encounter many psychiatric patients, there’s a difference between mental illness and low intelligence, so Dad, if you want me to treat it, I can’t, though I do sympathize with this uncle." Qian delivered the final blow.
Mrs. Jia’s face turned green; was this not a roundabout way to insult them?
"Qian, what are you saying? I’m not asking about this!" Mr. Yu said with a chuckle, ostensibly scolding Qian but actually conveying just a few words.
Well done, give them a good one!
The Jia Family members were all upset inside but had no choice. Nobody could afford to offend the Yu Family, so Mr. Jia had to pretend not to understand Qian’s mockery, repeatedly apologizing to Mr. Yu.
"Today’s matter, we at the Yu Family have noted. If my daughter-in-law is okay, then it’s fine. But if—" Mr. Yu glared, scaring Mrs. Jia into silence. His aura of authority naturally instilled fear, making the Jia couple repeatedly apologize. Mr. Yu and Mrs. Yu played good cop, bad cop, successfully intimidating them. The Jia couple finally left, knowing they’d have a massive argument back home. It needn’t be said; of all people to offend, why the Yu Family? Who knew what kind of payback might still come.
When the irrelevant folks left, only their family remained. Qian, who had been weak earlier, abruptly sat up in bed; Mr. Yu didn’t know she was faking, and asked with concern.
"Why sit up, hurry and lie down."
"Actually, I feel much better now."
"Zhaozhao, what do you think?" Mr. Yu asked the sister-in-law.
"My sister-in-law should continue resting at home. We just did a check-up and it’s not serious, mainly observation," the sister-in-law didn’t expose Qian either, knowing that their father-in-law was serious and words spoken to the mother-in-law couldn’t be repeated to him as it’d affect Qian’s image in his mind.
"Exactly, old man, this hospital isn’t good either. Better to rest at home. Come, come, let’s all go home."
Mrs. Yu’s words made Mr. Yu believe her. Though believing, he was internally displeased.
This Jia, what was he, daring to bully his pregnant daughter-in-law. Mr. Yu noted this in his heart, intending to settle this score after Qian stabilized.
Qian truly hadn’t foreseen the affair blowing up. She just wanted to teach Mrs. Jia a lesson; who knew her parents-in-law would get involved, and after returning with Mrs. Yu to their place, she was forced to rest in bed. Qian clutched her eyes shut, unable to sleep at all, internally scolding herself.
She mustn’t play so recklessly in the future, even beginning to suspect if her mother-in-law did it on purpose.
Don’t be fooled by Mrs. Yu’s constant smiles; she came back making food for Qian and such. Yet Qian felt her mother-in-law deliberately made her rest as punishment, subtly warning her not to stand out during pregnancy.
Thinking it over, Mrs. Yu’s tactic was high-level. Using exaggerated humor and reprimand to perfectly solve issues, clearly penalizing Qian yet making her unable to hold a grudge. Lying in bed, she found her mother-in-law a bit adorable.
