Reverend Insanity : Blood Path
Chapter 110 Bai Ning Bing Vs Lin Feng
“Extra payment? Heh, of course.” Bai Ning Bing’s ice-blue eyes shone with anticipation. “But you’ll have to let me fight to my heart’s content. Can you do that?”
Lin Feng nodded with a smile. “Challenging a Rank Three Gu Master while you’re only Rank Two peak stage… you’ve certainly got courage. Don’t worry, I’ll dilute my primeval essence to red steel primeval essence before we fight.”
“There’s no need. I came here precisely because I wanted to challenge a Rank Three Gu Master. If you do that, wouldn’t this whole fight be pointless?” Bai Ning Bing immediately refused, but then suddenly caught something strange in Lin Feng’s words. “Wait… primeval essence can be diluted?”
Lin Feng laughed. “Of course. If Gu can refine primeval essence and raise its quality, why couldn’t there be Gu that does the opposite?”
Dilute primeval essence?
Bai Ning Bing’s expression changed. His pupils slowly widened as the implications struck him. If primeval essence could truly be diluted, then the pressure exerted upon his aperture could also be reduced. That meant the inevitable collapse of his aperture could be delayed, buying him more time before his Northern Dark Ice Soul Physique reached its limit.
“You have a Gu that can dilute primeval essence?”
“Mm. It’s not particularly useful under normal circumstances.” Lin Feng casually took out a Gu. “I found a few of them in Qi Clan Village and bought them out of curiosity. Since it lowers the quality of a Gu Master’s own primeval essence, hardly anyone wants it.”
The Gu resembled a small beetle. Its head was milky white, while its oval abdomen was cyan and smooth, carrying a faint jade-like sheen.
Bai Ning Bing’s gaze immediately locked onto it. He had searched for methods that could delay his approaching death, yet nothing had produced a satisfactory result. Who would have thought that while merely wandering through a merchant caravan in search of an interesting fight, he would encounter something that might actually extend his remaining lifespan?
He had searched everywhere for such a thing and found nothing. Now, when he was not even looking for it, it had appeared directly before him.
“Alright, shopkeeper.” Bai Ning Bing suppressed the excitement in his heart, his expression quickly returning to calm. “I’m interested in that Gu worm. If you lose our battle, hand it over to me.”
Lin Feng readily agreed. He had originally bought this Gu on a whim in Qi Clan Village. At the time, he had merely found its unusual effect interesting and wanted to experiment with combining it with Blood Path Gu, perhaps creating a killer move capable of weakening an opponent by continuously degrading the quality of their primeval essence.
He had never expected it to become useful in this way.
The difference in quality between two ranks of primeval essence was generally tenfold. Once higher-quality primeval essence was degraded, the aperture would not have enough space to contain the equivalent amount of lower-quality primeval essence. In other words, if Lin Feng could successfully degrade an opponent’s primeval essence, a large portion of it would be wasted immediately.
Although such an effect could not compare with Moon Shadow Gu, the Rank Four Gu of Gu Yue Village, it was still extremely useful compared to many Gu of the same rank.
The two soon left Bai Clan Village one after another. Lin Feng rushed ahead at full speed, occasionally leaping down the mountain slope, his body drifting lightly through the air before landing and continuing forward. Bai Ning Bing followed closely behind.
“Good! Don’t run away!” Bai Ning Bing laughed loudly as he pursued him. “Come fight me to your heart’s content!”
Lin Feng laughed without looking back. “If you can’t even catch me, then you’re not qualified to be my opponent.”
This bastard! Bai Ning Bing’s eyes narrowed. Without activating any Gu, catching Lin Feng purely through physical speed was proving difficult. But that did not mean he had no other methods.
His pace gradually slowed until his white figure completely disappeared from Lin Feng’s sight.
“Strange. Where did he go?” Lin Feng finally stopped and looked behind him. “There’s no chance Bai Ning Bing gave up so easily. Could he have…”
A sharp gust of wind suddenly came from above. Lin Feng raised his head and saw Bai Ning Bing descending from a cliff overhead. Ice blades had formed in his hands, while bursts of water shot downward to repeatedly adjust his position and control his descent. In only a few breaths, he had placed himself directly above Lin Feng.
“Hahaha, Lin Feng! Don’t even think about escaping. Take this!”
Bai Ning Bing laughed with the delight of a child who had finally found someone willing to play with him. Yet the ice blade descending toward Lin Feng carried enough force to turn that seemingly innocent excitement into a killing blow.
Lin Feng’s eyes sharpened. Bai Ning Bing’s method had indeed allowed him to catch up, but it was absurdly dangerous. One mistake while descending from such a height could have seriously injured or even killed him.
He really doesn’t care whether he lives or dies. This isn’t merely recklessness. This is Bai Ning Bing.
Lin Feng immediately activated the Bone Path Gu within his aperture. White light flashed across both arms as his bones rapidly grew outward, forming two semicircular bone shields.
