“Beyond these six main specializations, there are many smaller roles as well.”

“Take Refinement Path Gu Masters, for example.

They specialize in refining Gu, and the Gu they cultivate can accelerate the refinement process or suppress a Gu worm’s will during refinement.”

“There are also Gu Masters who specialize in capturing wild Gu.

They excel at tracking, locating, and capturing wild Gu worms.”

“In short, after reaching Rank Three, every Gu Master gradually develops their own specialization.

This allows them to fully bring out the strengths of their cultivation path.”

“Now that you’ve chosen both your cultivation path and your specialization, the next step is to build a complete Gu set.

Although you’ve inherited an inheritance and should already understand the basics, I’ll explain it anyway.”

“Building your Gu set around a single cultivation path offers several advantages.”

“For one, the Gu usually have similar feeding requirements, making them much easier to raise.”

“They also complement one another naturally, making it much easier to combine them into killer moves.”

“There’s another advantage.

Their wills are often similar as well.

Once you’ve gained experience refining one, refining the rest becomes much easier.”

“Since you’ve chosen an offensive approach, your offensive Gu should serve as the core of your Gu set.

Every other Gu should be chosen to support it.

Let me use the Tie family’s standard Gu set as an example.”

Generally speaking, Our Tie family’s Gu are all Metal Path Gu worms.

Metal Path includes gold, silver, copper, and iron path Gu worm, while our Tie family focuses on iron.”

“Because of this, Iron Path Gu worms are usually chosen as the core of the Gu set.

It reduces the consumption of primeval essence while strengthening other Iron Path Gu worms.

Iron Blade Gu, Iron Hand Gu, and Iron Thorn Gu are commonly used for offense and defense.

As for movement, Metal Path has never excelled in that area, so movement Gu are usually chosen from other paths.”

Tie Xue Leng truly lived up to his reputation as a Rank Five Gu Master.

Every sentence went straight to the heart of the matter.

By using the Tie family’s own Gu set as an example, he made even complicated principles easy to understand.

Lin Feng quickly understood the reasoning behind it.

As a Divine Investigator who traveled throughout the Southern Border, the Tie family could not rely on offense alone.

They also needed Gu for pursuit, investigation, restraint, and many other situations.

Under such circumstances, a Gu that reduced primeval essence consumption naturally became the cornerstone of the entire Gu set, allowing every other Gu to be used more efficiently.

These insights were invaluable to Lin Feng.

__________

Chiyang Mountain

As evening settled over the land and the last rays of sunlight disappeared behind the mountains, thin wisps of cooking smoke drifted above a small village nestled deep within the valley.

A low stone wall encircled the village.

Farmers returned home in small groups, carrying hoes and other farming tools, while guards kept watch from several points along the wall.

“Finally, I found a village.” A faint smile appeared on Lin Feng’s face, but his eyes were filled with cold killing intent.

Using Blood Path and Bone Path Gu, he had already changed both his appearance and physique.

After parting ways with Tie Xue Leng, Lin Feng had not lingered in Jia Village.

Instead, he purchased a Soul-Burial Frog capable of storing souls before immediately setting out for Zhang Village.

But before returning home, there was one final matter he intended to settle.

His blood slaves had been living far too comfortably lately.

Lin Feng’s arrival immediately attracted curious, suspicious, and wary glances from the villagers.

Because of their geography and local customs, the villages of the Southern Border were generally wary of outsiders.

Clan villages were especially vigilant, with strict security to guard against spies, thieves, and other intruders.

“Honored guest, are you a Gu Master from afar?” Before Lin Feng even reached the village entrance, a burly guard hurried forward and greeted him respectfully.

Lin Feng smiled.

He liked polite people.

“That’s right.

I am a Gu Master.

And you’re very polite, which I appreciate.

So I’ve decided to reward you.”

The guard froze, unable to understand what he meant.

Before he could react, Lin Feng snapped his fingers.

Behind him, a crimson cloud slowly drifted into view.

It was not a cloud at all, but a vast swarm of blood-red Gu, whirling through the air with a deafening buzz.

“W-What is that?!” Before the guard could recover from his shock, the crimson swarm transformed into a blood-red hurricane and roared toward the village.

“Lord Gu Master, please spare us!

Please spare us!” another guard screamed in terror.

Realizing that the visitor had come with murderous intent, he immediately turned and ran toward the village, shouting at the top of his lungs, “Demon!

Demonic Gu Master!”

Unfortunately, he had barely taken a few steps when a spiraling bone spear pierced through his skull.

The sharp tip burst from his mouth and pinned him to the ground.

The look of utter terror on his face was frozen forever.

“I was just praising you for your manners, yet you’ve already become so rude.” Lin Feng smiled gently, his expression as warm as a spring breeze.

“That’s not the wish you should be making.”

His gentle smile stood in stark contrast to his words.

The mortals who had yet to flee felt a chill run down their spines, as though they had fallen into an icy abyss.

Lin Feng turned toward the remaining guard, “Go on,” he said softly.

“Tell me your wish.

How would you like to die?”
