Several months later.

Southern Border, Tie Clan, Wan Cheng Mountain

Towering black stone walls stretched for thousands of li. From the mountain side to the summit, countless stone buildings and iron towers stood in orderly rows, covering the entire mountain.

The city had been meticulously planned. Broad streets crisscrossed one another, while countless side streets branched off in neat rows. Beneath the afternoon sun, the roads teemed with pedestrians and merchant caravans, presenting a scene of bustling prosperity.

Near the summit of Wan Cheng Mountain stood the Clan Leader Pavilion, its defenses exceptionally tight. Few people were permitted near the area, while patrols of Gu Masters constantly passed by. Clad in finely crafted iron armor, every guard wore a stern expression as they carried out their duties with unwavering vigilance.

On the rooftop of the Clan Leader Pavilion stood two figures. One was a middle-aged man whose face was as cold and resolute as iron, though a trace of gentleness lingered in his eyes.

Standing beside him was the renowned Number One Divine Investigator of the Southern Border, a powerful Rank Five Gu Master.

“How is Yuning doing?” After bringing Tie Yuning back to Wancheng Mountain, Tie Xue Leng had immediately set off to pursue the demonic Gu Master Li Xian after receiving news of his whereabouts. As a result, he had no idea how Tie Yuning had been these past few months.

The middle-aged man standing beside Tie Xue Leng was no ordinary person. He was Tie Yuning’s biological father and the current Tie Clan Head, Tie Haoran. Iron-willed and decisive, he regarded evil as his mortal enemy. Under his leadership, countless demonic Gu Masters had been captured over the years, including even Rank Five experts.

However, at the mention of his daughter, Tie Haoran couldn’t help rubbing his brow.

“After she returned, I used the Gu I had spent years searching for to improve her aptitude. Her aptitude rose from Grade D to Grade B and is now only one step away from Grade A. But she’s still angry with me.”

The Tie Clan was not lacking in Gu that could improve aptitude. From time to time, such Gu were seized from demonic Gu Masters and added to the clan treasury.

“Then let her use the Rebirth Gu.” After a moment of silence, Tie Xue Leng finally spoke.

Tie Haoran stared at him in disbelief. “Brother… is that really you? You’re not someone else in disguise, are you? I never thought I’d hear those words coming from you.”

Tie Xue Leng gave his brother a punch on the shoulder and said helplessly, “Brat, do you really think I’m such a rigid, rule-abiding person?”

Tie Haoran couldn’t help recalling the past. When they were children, he had once stolen a melon from a farmer’s field, only to be beaten soundly by his elder brother before being dragged over to apologize to the farmer in person. Could his brother really be saying something like this today?

Tie Xue Leng let out a long sigh and gazed into the distance. At the highest peak of Wancheng Mountain stood a towering iron tower.

It rose high into the clouds, as though supporting the heavens and standing above the mountains. White mist drifted around it, shrouding the tower in mystery and making its outline appear hazy from afar.

It was not only the most famous iconic structure in the Southern Border, but also renowned throughout the five regions. Even in the Central Continent, countless people had heard of its name.

Demon Suppression Tower!

Rising over three hundred meters into the sky, with nearly a hundred floors. Ancient and majestic, its weathered exterior bore the marks of countless years, while an awe-inspiring aura of righteousness surrounded it. Since the day it was built, how many demonic Gu Masters had the Tie Clan imprisoned within its walls? Hundreds? Thousands? Or perhaps tens of thousands?

Even the Tie Clan Leader himself could not answer that question. Demon Suppression Tower had long since become the symbol of the Tie Clan’s righteous path and the greatest source of pride for every Tie Clan Gu Master.

Countless villains had buried their ambitions within its walls, leaving behind nothing but sorrow, regret, resentment, and despair.

To the Tie Clan, Demon Suppression Tower was not only its greatest pride, but also its greatest burden

In the name of justice, the Tie Clan had made countless enemies beyond the demonic path. Even within the righteous path, many forces feared the Tie Clan’s authority and methods, secretly working against them whenever the opportunity arose.

“That is exactly what I intend to do. Our Tie Clan has always upheld justice and maintained order, but we cannot change people’s hearts. Yuning is your daughter. We must make her stronger so she can protect herself from those with ill intentions.”

Tie Haoran turned around abruptly, only to find that Tie Xue Leng had already removed his mask. Several blades of green grass had quietly sprouted from his weathered face.

“Could this be…? How dare they… Brother, what happened to you?” Tie Haoran was utterly shocked. Even as the Tie Clan Leader, he could no longer remain composed.

Tie Xue Leng silently put his mask back on before turning toward the rising sun, His tall figure stood firm against the morning light.

“What’s done is done. There’s no point dwelling on it now. We must protect Yuning. Their methods are far more ruthless than we ever imagined.”

Tie Haoran was about to speak when a swallow descended from the sky. It let out a clear, melodious chirp before landing lightly on Tie Xue Leng’s hand. As primeval essence flowed into its body, it transformed into a letter.

Rank Three Flying Swallow Letter Gu!

“A letter from the Chi Clan of Chiyang Mountain?” Tie Xue Leng frowned as he finished reading it. “I never expected such a massacre to happen there.”

He had never expected that, after being ambushed while pursuing the demonic Gu Master Li Xian, the long-dormant Blood Path would begin showing signs of resurfacing.

This was no trivial matter. If left unchecked, Blood Path could spread with terrifying speed, plunging Southern Border into another age of bloodshed and chaos.

They had to eradicate it before it could take root. Otherwise, the consequences would be beyond imagination.
