Reverend Insanity : Blood Path
Chapter 55 Demon Vs Tie Clan
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Before Yang Kang could finish cleaning up the battlefield, more than a dozen iron arrows shot toward him from the distance, sealing off every possible route of escape.
“So, they’re finally here.” Yang Kang narrowed his eyes. “The Chi Clan reacted faster than I expected. Good. Killing them will only help my cultivation.”
However, the figures emerging from the forest were not the Gu Masters of Chijia Village he had expected, but a group of strangers.
They wore identical uniforms: dark gray short-sleeved garments, black trousers, and armor protecting their forearms and shins. Rectangular identity tokens hung from their waists, while black iron greaves covered their lower legs.
They were Gu Masters of the Tie Clan. Leading them was a burly man with an unkempt beard and a rugged appearance. His sharp gaze swept across the blood-soaked battlefield before settling on Yang Kang. Disgust flashed across his weathered face.
“Hmph! Just as I thought. A demon of the Blood Path.” His voice was ice-cold. “Slaughtering Gu Masters and spreading chaos throughout this region… you deserve to die!”
The man was Tie Ju. As a peak Rank Three Gu Master of the Tie Clan, he specialized in direct combat and possessed extraordinary battle strength. Years ago, he had fought a Rank Four demonic Gu Master alone for an entire hour, holding his ground until reinforcements arrived, earning a formidable reputation within the Tie Clan.
Next, a middle aged woman stepped forward from the squad. A flash of black light appeared in her hand as a two meter long iron whip materialized in her grasp.
“Enough nonsense. The sooner a bloodthirsty scoundrel like you dies, the better. Don’t let your guard down. We can’t let him escape!”
As soon as the words left her mouth, the iron whip lashed through the air. Faint arcs of blue lightning danced along its length as she simultaneously activated a Rank Two Lightning Path Gu.
Yang Kang’s pupils contracted. He flipped backward several times in succession before leaping onto a massive boulder. Had that whip struck him, he would have been severely wounded before he even had the chance to activate his defensive Gu.
No sooner had Yang Kang dodged the whip than another attack descended from above. Tie Ju plummeted from the sky like a falling meteor, swinging a massive saw-shaped Gu with both hands as he hacked toward the boulder Yang Kang had occupied only an instant earlier. The spinning saw teeth shrieked as they chewed through solid stone.
Boom!
The massive boulder exploded into countless fragments. Although Yang Kang narrowly escaped, flying shards of stone still tore several bloody gashes across his body. Blood streamed from the wounds as he landed more than thirty meters away. For the first time, he sensed a genuine threat from his opponent.
“What Gu is that? How can it possess such terrifying power?”
However, Yang Kang was a Blood Path Gu Master. Wounds of this degree would heal quickly for him. What truly shocked him was the terrifying destructive power of that Gu.
“Hahaha! So the bloodthirsty rat is finally scared?” Tie Ju burst into laughter, yet his attacks never ceased. “Let me tell you, this is my signature Rank Three Gu, the Chainsaw Golden Centipede!”
The Chainsaw Golden Centipede possessed a dark golden carapace that shimmered with a cold metallic luster. Two rows of silver saw teeth ran along its body, slowly rotating under Tie Ju’s control and producing a harsh, grating buzz like a giant saw.
The Gu coiled around Tie Ju’s right arm, swallowing it all the way to his forearm. As its body contracted, it shrank from nearly two meters to roughly one and a half. At the same time, its countless legs retracted into its carapace, leaving behind only the two rows of spinning silver saw teeth.
At a glance, it looked as though Tie Ju were wielding a massive dark golden greatsword, its blade lined with whirling silver serrations.
The methods of Gu Masters were endlessly ingenious. Nurturing Gu, refining Gu, and using Gu were each profound arts, and Tie Ju’s mastery of the Chainsaw Golden Centipede perfectly demonstrated how unpredictable and versatile the use of Gu could be.
Dozens of kilometers away, atop a lonely cliff, Lin Feng quietly observed the battle through a reconnaissance Gu, watching the spectacle he had orchestrated with great interest.
In many ways, he was the true mastermind behind this tragedy. It was he who had deliberately left behind a portion of the Blood Sea Ancestor’s true inheritance for
Yang Kang, setting everything in motion. If anyone deserved to be called the true scourge of Blood Path, it was Lin Feng.
“Oh? Even the Tie Clan has arrived?” Lin Feng clicked his tongue with a faint smile.
“Things are becoming more and more interesting.”
His gaze settled on the Chainsaw Golden Centipede wrapped around Tie Ju’s arm. “I didn’t expect someone from the Tie Clan to think of using it this way. It’s a clever idea… but he’s only scratched the surface of its true potential.”
Although using the Chainsaw Golden Centipede as a massive rotating blade was ingenious, three hundred years later a Gu Master known as the Chainsaw Maniac would elevate this fighting style to an entirely different level. His signature Rank Four Electric Tooth Killer Centipede was one of the advancement paths of the Rank Three Chainsaw Golden Centipede.
Innovation was often like this. The hardest part was taking the first step. Once a path had been opened, those who followed could continue refining and perfecting it. Tie Ju had discovered one way to use the Chainsaw Golden Centipede, but his understanding of it ended there.
