Reverend Insanity : Blood Path
Chapter 59 Leaving Clan
“Brother…Tie Xiang…” A weak voice drifted from behind Yang Kang.
It was Tie Lian. Both her arms and legs had been broken, and Yang Kang held her firmly before him as a host. Watching Tie Xiang’s face darken, Yang Kang threw back his head and laughed. “Well, Tie Clan Gu Master? Hand over every Gu on your body, gather your remaining companions, and leave Chiyang Mountain. Do that, and I might spare her life.”
Lin Feng, who was watching from afar, had no intention of making a move. Remove a few Tie Clan Gu Masters are still alive, and acting now would only bring unnecessary trouble.
The Tie Clan possessed Rust Flower Gu, a special Gu created by one of the clan’s Refinement Path Gu masters. They also possessed their signature barrier-type Gu, Iron Cabinet Gu. When combined with Qi Transformation Gu, it could form a barrier hundreds of feet wide, capable of withstanding continuous attacks from Rank Four Gu worms.
This combination was considered one of the strongest methods for trapping enemies. Tie Xue Leng, the number one divine investigator of Southern Border, had once used it to successfully capture an early-stage Rank Five expert.
Rust Flower Gu was even more troublesome. It involved the profound effects of Soul Path and was planted directly within the souls of Tie Clan Gu Masters. Anyone who killed one of them would be contaminated by an invisible fragrance that was extremely difficult to remove.
Lin Feng was quite familiar with Soul Path and knew exactly how difficult Rust Flower Gu was to deal with.
The Tie Clan also possessed a special series of Gu designed to work with Rust Flower Gu: Thousand-Li Tracking Gu, Hundred-Li Tracking Gu, Ten-Li Tracking Gu, and Tracking Gu. Each could detect its invisible fragrance from a different distance.
Lin Feng had learned about Rust Flower Gu, Iron Cabinet Gu, and many other unique Tie Clan Gu from Tie Yuning. As the little princess of the Tie Clan, she knew a great deal about her clan’s methods.
Knowing how much Tie Yuning admired Tie Xue Leng, Lin Feng had intentionally intended to share his admiration. This quickly brought them closer, and Tie Yuning eagerly told him everything she knew about the Tie Clan. That was exactly why Lin Feng had spent the past few days getting close to her.
If Lin Feng personally killed a Tie Clan Gu Master, Rust Flower Gu would mark him. The Tie Clan would then hunt him relentlessly, causing him endless trouble. There was no reason for him to take such a risk.
He only needed to wait for the right opportunity and secretly help Yang Kang. Once Yang Kang killed the remaining Tie Clan Gu Masters, Lin Feng could step in and take everything without staining his own hands.
_______
Jia Family Village, Southern Border.
“I’ve already reached Rank Two middle stage. At this rate, I should be able to break through to the upper stage in just a few more days.”
Jia Jinsheng could hardly believe how quickly his cultivation had advanced. He had once believed himself to be a hopeless waste who could never reach Rank Two, yet now even Rank Two upper stage was within reach.
“No wonder the righteous clans suppress the Blood Path. Ordinary paths simply can’t compare with this cultivation speed.”
Of course, Blood Path alone was not responsible for his rapid progress. He had previously schemed against dozens of Gu Masters in the caravan and recently purchased several slaves of Gu Master to aid his cultivation. Without them, he could never have advanced so quickly.
“Next, I should leave the village and begin refining Gu. I can’t openly use Blood Path Gu here. Besides, with Blood Refining Gu, refining the other Gu I need should be much easier.”
Jia Jinsheng was no longer as reckless as before. After everything he had experienced, he had finally learned to prepare properly before taking action.
At the gate of Jia Family Village.
“Line up, one at a time! Any Gu Master who wants to leave the stronghold must undergo inspection before being allowed through!” the guards stationed at the gate shouted.
Numerous wanted posters covered the walls beside the gate. Some were so old that the paper had turned yellow, buried beneath newer notices until only their corners remained visible, while others had clearly been pasted there only recently.
Of course, these guards were not mainly searching for wanted demonic Gu Masters. Their real purpose was to prevent spies from other mountain strongholds from stealing information about Jia Family Village.
Jia Family Village had only existed for a few hundred years, so its foundation was relatively shallow compared to many older clans. However, through the efforts of successive clan leaders, its commercial influence had grown tremendously. Among the righteous forces of the Southern Border, only super clans such as the Yi Clan and Shang Clan surpassed the Jia Clan in commerce.
Naturally, such prosperity attracted the envy and attention of countless other clans.
Furthermore, the old Jia Clan leader was seriously ill and appeared to have only a few years left to live. Yet even now, his successor had still not been decided. Several potential heirs were competing fiercely for the position of clan leader, openly opposing one another while constantly scheming in secret.
With enemies watching from outside and a struggle unfolding within, Jia Clan naturally had to be especially cautious during this period. They could not allow outsiders to take advantage of the internal struggle and secretly sabotage Jia Family Village.
