Reverend Insanity : Blood Path
Chapter 63 Tie Clan Justice
Southern Border, Chiyang Mountain.
Large amounts of blood stained the ground crimson, while the scattered remains of several Tie Clan Gu Masters lay across the battlefield, already attracting swarms of flies and insects.
At the center of the battlefield, Yang Kang was in a miserable state. Several bones were broken and his tendons were torn, while large chunks of flesh had been ripped away by the Chainsaw Golden Centipede’s serrated teeth. His right arm had been torn off at the forearm by tremendous force, leaving behind a mangled wound where pale fascia could still be faintly seen.
His opponent, Tie Ju, was in even worse condition. Countless wounds covered his body, and a huge gash had been torn across the right side of his chest. His skin had turned deathly pale after losing too much blood, and he lay motionless on the ground, barely breathing. The other members of the Tie Clan squad, including Tie Xiang and Tie Lian, were already dead. Only Tie Ju still clung stubbornly to life.
Yang Kang struggled to his feet and slowly walked toward Tie Ju. Less than a tenth of the Gu in his aperture remained, with most having been destroyed during the battle. To defeat Tie Ju, he had even been forced to unleash a powerful killer move, paying an enormous price in the process.
“Hehehe… Old bastard, why aren’t you barking anymore? Your people are dead. Every last one of them is dead!” Yang Kang grinned viciously. “How pitiful. They all died because of your stupid decision. And look at you now. Don’t you look just like a dying old dog? Hahaha!”
Yang Kang planted his foot on Tie Ju’s face and ground it down viciously, soon covering his face in blood. If these meddlesome Tie Clan Gu Masters had not interfered, Yang Kang would never have been driven into such a miserable state.
Tie Ju gathered what little strength he had left. Taking advantage of Yang Kang’s moment of triumph, he suddenly grabbed his ankle and yanked hard, sending him crashing to the ground. The two immediately became entangled. Their primeval essence had long since been exhausted, leaving them no different from ordinary mortals. Like wild beasts, they fought with fists, feet, teeth, and anything else they could use to hurt the other.
“Bastard! Even if you kill me, you won’t survive!” Yang Kang shouted as they struggled. “Your stubborn meddling has only caused more people to die! Look at the clansmen and juniors who followed you here. They’re all dead because of you!”
Yang Kang continued attacking him with words, hoping to break Tie Ju’s will. However, Tie Ju remained completely unmoved. Instead, he seized an opening and clamped both hands around Yang Kang’s throat.
“You Blood Path demon, do you think I’m afraid? I’ve eaten more salt than you’ve eaten rice! Do you think my justice, the justice of the Tie Clan, is some thin sheet of paper that tears apart the moment blood is spilled?!”
For Tie Ju, and for countless members of the Tie Clan, sacrifice had never been enough to make them abandon their pursuit of justice. Generation after generation had been willing to pay the price necessary to uphold it. This unwavering conviction was also one of the reasons the world’s only Righteousness Immortal Gu remained in the hands of the Tie Clan.
“Damn it! I really don’t understand what you’re after!” Yang Kang finally tore himself free, fear and frustration twisting his face. “Primeval stones? Gu? Or some worthless reputation? You’re all lunatics! Don’t you feel anything watching your own clansmen die? We had no grudges before this! We had never even met! Why go this far?!”
Bang!
Tie Ju’s body swayed, his remaining strength almost exhausted, yet he still forced himself forward and smashed his fist into Yang Kang’s face. Caught off guard, Yang Kang fell backward. Tie Ju immediately threw himself on top of him and began raining punches down.
“Since the founding of our Tie Clan, courage, perseverance, and unwavering justice have been passed down from generation to generation! For countless years, members of the Tie Clan have upheld justice throughout Southern Border and hunted down criminals. Countless clansmen have shed their blood and given their lives on this land!”
Tie Ju raised his fist again, his blood-covered face showing no trace of regret.
“Afraid of death? Hmph! For a member of the Tie Clan, dying while upholding justice is the greatest honor!”
“The Tie Clan members who die here today will neither be the first nor the last! The justice and greatness upheld by our Tie Clan will never be understood by Blood Path demons like you, who slaughter others merely to satisfy your own selfish desires!”
The two continued fighting desperately. Tie Ju suddenly lunged forward and sank his teeth into Yang Kang’s throat like a crocodile tearing into its prey. Yang Kang immediately tasted blood as unbearable pain spread through his neck. Tie Ju’s teeth tore through his skin and sank deeper into his flesh. In only a few more moments, they would rip open his vulnerable throat completely.
However, the pain on Yang Kang’s face suddenly vanished. His intact left hand shot forward and pierced directly through Tie Ju’s chest. When he pulled it back, a still-beating heart rested in his blood-covered palm.
“You… how could this be? We’ve been fighting this entire time. Your primeval essence couldn’t have recovered so quickly…”
