Reverend Insanity : Blood Path
Chapter 80 Qing Mao Mountain Potential
June had arrived, Spring was drawing to an end, and the first signs of summer had begun to appear.
The air was filled with the fragrance of flowers, while the branches and leaves had grown lush and green. The sunlight was gradually becoming warmer, and beneath the clear blue sky, white clouds drifted lazily overhead.
On Qing Mao Mountain, endless stretches of Qing Mao bamboo stood straight like spears pointing toward the sky. Wild grass covered the slopes, dotted with nameless flowers of every kind. Whenever a breeze swept across the mountain, waves passed through the grass and carried the rich scent of pollen and fresh vegetation through the air.
Numerous terraced fields covered the mountainside, descending layer after layer along the slopes. Tender green crops filled the fields, forming what looked like a vast green sea from afar. Farmers were already busy working among them. Some cleared ditches and guided water into the fields, while others rolled up their trousers and stood knee-deep in mud, planting seedlings.
These people were naturally mortals living under the Gu Yue Clan. The Gu Masters of Gu Yue Village would never lower themselves to perform such exhausting work.
Such was the nature of this world. Mortals worked tirelessly like bees, farming, hunting, gathering, carrying goods, and performing every unpleasant task required to keep the clan running. Some even spent their days hauling manure, yet the fruits of all this labor ultimately supported the Gu Masters above them.
“So this is Qing Mao Mountain, the hometown of Great Love Immortal Venerable? Going by the logic of those novels from my previous life, shouldn’t this place eventually be renamed Immortal Venerable Mountain?”
Lin Feng sat atop a Black-Skinned Fat Beetle before suddenly leaping into the air. A pair of jade-green bone wings unfolded behind him, carrying him high above the caravan as he looked down upon the magnificent scenery of Qing Mao Mountain.
It had to be said that Qing Mao Mountain truly deserved to be called a land blessed with outstanding talents. Not only had this small mountain produced the future Rank Nine Great Love Immortal Venerable, who would graciously dedicate himself to saving all living beings, it had also produced the future master of Heavenly Court’s Demon Judgment Board and even the future master of Dragon Palace, who would betray humanity itself.
Three future Rank Eight and Rank Nine existences had emerged from this seemingly insignificant mountain. With such an absurd concentration of talent, Lin Feng could not help but wonder whether there was another place in the entire five regions capable of matching Qing Mao Mountain.
Jia Fu remained calm and composed. This was not his first visit to Qing Mao Mountain, and he already knew the situation here quite well. There were only three medium sized clans on the mountain: the Gu Yue Clan, Bai Clan, and Xiong Clan. Their clan leaders were all Rank Four Gu Masters, roughly on the same level as himself, so there was little for him to worry about.
Among the three, the Gu Yue Clan currently held the strongest position. They mainly cultivated Moon Path, with Moonlight Gu as their signature Gu, famous for its powerful offensive ability. Unfortunately, the clan had gradually declined in recent years, and among its younger generation, only Gu Yue Qing Shu was worth paying attention to, yet even he possessed merely B-grade aptitude.
Next was Bai Clan, whose signature Stream Gu was known for its agility and versatility. More importantly, an exceptional genius had recently emerged from the clan. Despite possessing only Rank Two cultivation, this person had once defeated a Rank Three elder of Xiong Clan. Achieving such a feat at such a young age was enough to leave even Jia Fu impressed.
Finally came Xiong Clan, currently the weakest of the three. Its younger generation lacked any outstanding geniuses and could not compare with the other two clans in this regard. However, Xiong Clan possessed more signature Gu than either of its rivals, including Enslavement Path’s Bear Enslavement Gu and Strength Path’s Bear Strength Gu. Recently, they had even developed a refinement recipe for the Strength Path Bear Skin Gu, which would likely become widespread throughout the clan before long.
“Qing Mao Mountain… only three medium-sized clans. There really shouldn’t be anything worth worrying about here.” Jia Jinsheng frowned slightly. “Then why do I have such a bad feeling about this?”
He carefully considered the matter several times but could find nothing unusual.
At that moment, a group of Gu Masters appeared ahead, and the merchant caravan gradually came to a halt. Since the caravan intended to enter Gu Yue Village, Jia Fu had naturally contacted the clan beforehand, and they had sent Gu Masters down the mountain to guide them.
Such precautions were troublesome but necessary. There had been more than one case in history where hostile Gu Masters disguised themselves as members of a merchant caravan and infiltrated a clan village before launching a surprise attack from within.
The Gu Master leading the welcoming group possessed Rank Two cultivation. Long blue hair fell across his shoulders, and he wore a neat blue-and-white martial uniform. His posture was straight, his features handsome, and a gentle, refined smile remained on his face as he stepped forward and cupped his fists.
“I am Gu Yue Qing Shu of the Gu Yue Clan. Greetings, esteemed guests.”
