Chapter 84 Refining Gu For Fang Yuan?

  • Next Chapter

Five hundred years was a long time. Even with Fang Yuan’s extraordinary memory, he could not remember every insignificant person he had encountered in his previous life. He frowned slightly, then relaxed and put the matter aside.

“Naturally, I’m here to refine a Gu. How many primeval stones would it cost to refine a Rank Two Gu?”

Lin Feng composed himself and pointed toward the price list hanging beside the counter. “For Rank One Gu, the cost depends entirely on the required materials. You must purchase at least five sets of refinement materials, and I guarantee success within those five attempts. However, any additional Gu refined during the process belong to Hundred Refinements Pavilion.”

“For Rank Two Gu, you’ll need between five and ten sets of materials depending on the difficulty of the refinement. But you can rest assured, young friend. Whether it requires five attempts or ten, I guarantee that your Gu will be successfully refined. Compared with purchasing the finished Gu directly, the cost of the materials is usually much lower, so you won’t suffer a loss.”

Fang Yuan fell into thought. Ordinary Rank One Gu generally cost fewer than five hundred primeval stones, while Rank Two Gu usually ranged between five hundred and one thousand. Rank Three Gu normally began at around one thousand primeval stones and could reach as high as ten thousand. Rank Four Gu were worth tens of thousands, while Rank Five Gu could easily reach hundreds of thousands.

Of course, these prices applied only to common Gu. Rare or particularly useful Gu could be worth several times more than others of the same rank. Even Rank One Gu such as Liquor Worm, Bookworm, and Black Boar Gu could be worth as much as an ordinary Rank Two Gu worm.

Relic Gu were even more expensive. Green Copper Relic Gu could sell for around two thousand primeval stones, while Red Steel Relic Gu could reach eight thousand. White Silver Relic Gu might cost around fifty thousand, while Yellow Golden Relic Gu could approach three hundred thousand primeval stones.

As for Purple Crystal Relic Gu, its value could reach several million primeval stones, yet practically no one would openly sell one. A Gu capable of directly advancing a Rank Five Gu Master’s cultivation was valuable enough to affect the balance between major clans and forces. Once one appeared, it would almost certainly be taken before reaching a market for sale.

Looking at it this way, commissioning the refinement really is worthwhile. The Gu I want requires at least a Rank Three Gu Master to oversee the refinement, but if he asks for ten complete sets of materials, my current primeval stones probably won’t be enough.

Fang Yuan quickly considered his options.

Still, this Gu worm would greatly increase the strength of my Moon Path gu. If I can obtain that Rank Two Mudskin Toad Gu from the stone gambling den, I’ll have enough primeval stones to cover the cost.

After thinking for a moment, Fang Yuan asked for paper and quickly wrote down a list of refinement materials before handing it across the counter.

“These are the materials required. The Gu Yue Clan produces and sells most of them. Gather whatever you can first, and I’ll bring the primeval stones tomorrow.”

Lin Feng accepted the paper and glanced through the list. Moon Orchid petals, Moon Shadow Stones, and several other materials closely related to Moon Path immediately caught his attention.

So it really is a Moon Path Gu Worm.

His gaze continued down the list, and his interest gradually deepened. There were considerably more materials than he had expected for an ordinary Rank Two refinement, and several combinations were unfamiliar even to him.

Lin Feng raised his head and looked at Fang Yuan with renewed interest. “There are more materials here than I expected. It seems the Gu you want to refine isn’t an ordinary Rank Two Gu.”

A faint smile appeared on his face.

“Haha, Interesting. It looks like I’m about to obtain a rather unusual Gu recipe. Young friend, may I know your name?”

So he became suspicious after seeing the refinement materials? That’s understandable. The recipe for this Gu is considerably more complicated than an ordinary Rank Two recipe. If he didn’t notice anything unusual, that would be more suspicious.

Thinking this, a faint smile appeared on Fang Yuan’s previously expressionless face. He casually replied, “My name? Sure. I’m Gu Yue Fang Zheng.”

“Gu Yue Fang Zheng?”

Lin Feng repeated the name under his breath, looking somewhat puzzled.

The shop assistant beside him quickly leaned closer and whispered, “Sir, if I remember correctly, Gu Yue Fang Zheng is the only A-grade genius of Gu Yue Village. He’s also regarded as a likely future clan leader. We shouldn’t neglect him.”

“Oh?” Realization appeared on Lin Feng’s face.

“So It’s young friend Fang Zheng.” Lin Feng immediately became much friendlier and reached out to shake Fang Yuan’s hand. “Young friend, we seem to have hit it off quite well. How about this? I’ll give you a twenty percent discount on the Gu you want refined.”
