Von laughed at Emily's praise. "Glad you liked it, Em."

"Everyone liked it. You're flooding social media yet again. It's amazing... But there's just one problem."

Von already knew where Emily was heading at. He crossed his arms with a knowing smirk. "The release?"

"Yes! Exactly!" Emily threw her hands up in exasperation. "Von, do you have any idea how insane this is? Major artists spend seven-figure marketing budgets just to manufacture half of this organic hype. Yet here you are having it without a single official streaming link for them to click!"

She tapped the table with her fingernail, counting on her fingers.

"You did the exact same thing with Blinding Lights in Miami," she pressed. "You debuted it, sent the internet into a frenzy, and then just let it sit there while illegal audio rips racked up millions of views. And now you've done it again with this song! You're leaving millions of streams on the table!"

Von watched her vent, highly amused by the sheer intensity she brought to release logistics at one in the morning.

He let the silence settle for a beat before speaking.

"I never said we couldn't drop it," Von said casually.

Emily's entire argument stalled mid-breath. "...What?"

"Patch already has the mastered file, so you can push it out whenever you want. Preferably today."

Emily was caught off guard. She had prepared an entire presentation to convince him, only for him to agree in two sentences.

"Wait... really?" she asked in disbelief. "You're not going to fight me on this?"

"Nope," Von smiled. "The track is ready, the momentum is there, so it makes sense to release it."

Emily let out a long exhale.

"Thank you, heavens," she muttered with a quiet laugh. "For a second there, I thought I was going to have to steal your hard drives."

Then her eyes narrowed as something clicked in her head.

"Wait a minute. If we're dropping I Just Might Be Dreaming this morning... what about Blinding Lights? When are you planning to release that one?"

"Probably after the tour wraps," Von said after a hum of thought.

Emily frowned slightly. "After the tour? Why hold that one back?"

"I plan to package the tracks I don't drop during the tour into a proper studio album. Probably shoot some videos as well, since we'll have the tour profits sitting in the bank by then. Sounds nice, yeah?"

"Nice? Von, that's perfection," Emily admitted, shaking her head. "An album built off the biggest live tour run of the year, dropping right when the post-tour hype peaks? It'll do crazy numbers. The charts won't even know what hit them."

Then her eyes snapped wide open, catching the exact words he had used.

"Hold on. Rewind that. What do you mean 'the ones I don't drop'? Don't tell me you're planning to premiere more new songs on this tour?"

Von looked back at her with a slow smirk.

"Precisely."

Emily chuckled while hitting his chest with her fist.

"Von, you madman!"

By 7:30 AM, the Florida sun was already beating down over the outdoor patio of a crowded café near downtown Orlando.

Two college girls sat at a small iron table, nursing iced lattes while scrolling through their phones.

Both were still running on adrenaline from the previous night, their dark eye bags masked by sunglasses.

"I'm telling you, the finger-snap was the craziest part," Maya said while tapping her phone against the glass table. "I've watched this clip on my feed fifty times already, but the audio is terrible. The girl standing next to the camera wouldn't stop screaming right during the drop."

Her friend, Chloe, let out a disappointed sigh and stirred her straw. "It's such a waste. You know he's not going to drop it. Look at what happened with Blinding Lights in Miami. It's been days, and all we have are recorded versions."

"Seriously, why does he do that?" Maya grumbled, resting her chin in her hand. "Other artists would kill to drop a track while it's trending everywhere. Now we just have to manage these clips until he decides to be generous."

Before Chloe could answer, her phone vibrated against the table.

A banner notification slid across the top of her screen. She glanced down lazily, but the moment the text registered, her eyes went wide.

"OH MY GOD!"

Chloe gasped so violently she knocked her straw sideways and her both hands flew up to slap over her mouth.

Maya jumped in her seat. "What?! What happened?!"

Chloe couldn't even form words. Her hands were shaking as she shoved the unlocked phone across the table, thrusting the screen right into Maya's face.

"Look! Look at the screen!"

Maya squinted at the Musify interface.

At the top sat the verified artist profile: {VON}, sitting comfortably at a staggering 26,412,890 monthly listeners.

Right beneath his header, stamped with a bright blue New Release tag that hadn't been there ten minutes ago, was a fresh single bundle:

[I Just Might Be Dreaming — Single]

Track 1: I Just Might Be Dreaming (Studio Master) — 03:14

Track 2: I Just Might Be Dreaming (Live at Amway Center) — 04:12

Maya froze. Her jaw dropped open, her eyes darting between the tracklist and the official cover art; a minimalist, dark shot of a sculpted white mask resting in dense fog.

"No way..." Maya shrieked, grabbing Chloe's wrist. "He dropped it?! He actually dropped it?!"

"He didn't just drop the live version!" Chloe screamed, drawing stares from half the patio. "He put out the studio master! A studio master at seven in the morning!"

Chloe snatched her wireless earbuds from her tote bag, shoving one into Maya's ear and jamming the other into her own before smashing the play button.

The clean, isolated blues-rock guitar riff echoed into their ears, followed by the crisp, haunting vocal line.

"This is disgusting!" Maya yelled, her eyes watering with excitement. "The quality is insane! Put it on loop right now!"

"Loop?" Chloe laughed hysterically, typing frantically on her phone. "I'm streaming this the entire day. I don't care about my classes. We're getting this to number one on Musify before noon!"

It wasn't just two college students in an Orlando café.

From New York subway cars to Los Angeles commuter traffic, the sudden, unannounced drop of I Just Might Be Dreaming tore through streaming platforms like an electric shock.

Musify's real-time servers lagged under the immediate rush of millions of concurrent streams.

Across the country, morning radio hosts interrupted their scheduled rotations to spin the track, while music critics rushed to draft breaking reviews.

The sudden dual release proved what the industry had been trying to deny: Von Varley didn't need a legacy label machine, a traditional rollout, or a corporate radio push to dominate the charts.

His momentum was at an all-time peak, and every metric indicated that another historic hit was about to be logged under his independent banner.

Yet, hundreds of miles away, not everyone looked upon the news with admiration.
