8:00 AM on Saturday.

The System’s rest day notification was the same as always, and Yun Zijin was completely unfazed.

By the time Yun Zijin woke up, it was already past nine.

Yun Zijin couldn’t describe how wonderful it felt to sleep in and wake up naturally.

Yun Zijin got up and washed at a leisurely pace. By the time she came out of her room, Mei Lin, as expected, had already left to meet with the chief design engineer for the South Suburb Manor.

"Miss, should I have someone bring your breakfast to the dining room now?"

Wang Minli had been waiting on the first floor. The moment she saw Yun Zijin come down, she immediately went up to ask.

Yun Zijin nodded. "Yes, something light."

Yun Zijin couldn’t stomach anything too greasy so early in the morning.

"Of course."

Wang Minli glanced at a nearby maid, who understood instantly. The maid quickly turned and hurried into the kitchen.

Breakfast had been prepped in the kitchen long ago; they just waited until Yun Zijin woke up to start cooking it.

"Like the rain that falls when the clouds hang low, my heart was moved when you sang softly..."

Yun Zijin had just sat down at the dining table when her phone rang.

Seeing it was an unknown number from Dijing, Yun Zijin subconsciously assumed it was the Xia family, father and son, and hung up without hesitation.

However, the caller clearly wasn’t giving up so easily and quickly called again.

Seeing the same number calling back, Yun Zijin frowned slightly but answered it anyway.

"Hello..."

"Hello, may I ask if this is Yun Zijin, Miss Yun?"

A pleasant male voice came from the other end. Yun Zijin was certain it wasn’t either of the Xia men.

Still, she was a bit suspicious that he asked for her by name right away. "This is she. And you are...?"

"Hello, Miss Yun. My name is Fan Qingmao, the CEO of Yuepin Media Co., Ltd. I was notified this morning that you have become the company’s second-largest shareholder.

The company’s shareholders and management have all expressed their desire to meet you. When would you be available for the company to arrange a welcome party for you?

It’s a chance for everyone to get acquainted and will help us avoid any unnecessary conflicts with you on business matters down the line, should we be unaware of your involvement."

Although Fan Qingmao’s words sounded very polite, Yun Zijin could still detect a commanding undertone.

According to the information she’d looked up on Yue Pin Company last night, this Fan Qingmao was just the CEO and only held 2% of the shares.

In no way did he have the standing to give her orders.

"I’m sorry, but I’m still a student. I have classes from Monday to Friday, and I’m busy with my own things on Saturdays and Sundays.

A welcome party won’t be necessary. There’s no need for it."

Yun Zijin just wanted to sit back, relax, and collect her dividends; she had no intention of getting involved in company decisions.

However, if the people at this company were foolish enough to insist on dragging her into their factional disputes, Yun Zijin wouldn’t mind letting them have a taste of what it felt like to have someone stir up the pot.

"Miss Yun, this is a long-standing company tradition for new members. Even though you’re a shareholder, it wouldn’t be good to break the rules..."

"Are you trying to tell me what to do? As the company’s second-largest shareholder, don’t I have the right to decide whether or not I attend a party? Fan Qingmao, remember your place. You’re just a CEO with 2% of the shares, not the chairman with 47%!"

’A minor shareholder who becomes CEO through a bit of ability thinks he can step on me, a major shareholder? He must’ve gotten his brains kicked in by a donkey.’

With that, Yun Zijin hung up the phone, giving Fan Qingmao no chance to say another word.

Her good mood for the morning was ruined by a single phone call.

Yun Zijin felt she needed to soothe her soul with some retail therapy.

But right now, the most important thing was to fill her own belly.

Just then, the maid who had just gone into the kitchen came out, leading others who were carrying Yun Zijin’s breakfast.

Seeing the cute and exquisite crystal dumplings on the plate, Yun Zijin’s mood finally improved a little.

"If you haven’t eaten, go have your breakfast. You don’t need to wait on me."

Yun Zijin had been poor before and didn’t need people waiting on her while she ate.

"We’ve already eaten, Miss."

It was already past nine. Yun Zijin could afford to wake up naturally, but they couldn’t.

「Meanwhile, at Yuepin Media Co., Ltd., in the CEO’s office.」

Fan Qingmao stared at the disconnected call, his expression undeniably ugly.

But when he remembered that Yun Zijin was the second-largest shareholder with 32% of the stock, he had no choice but to swallow his anger.

After composing himself, Fan Qingmao took out his phone, opened his contacts, found the number for the largest shareholder, Yu Zejian, and made the call.

The welcome party had actually been Yu Zejian’s idea, but there was no way the chairman would make the call himself, so the task had fallen to Fan Qingmao.

As the CEO, Fan Qingmao was only a minor shareholder with 2% of the stock. When dealing with the lower-level management, his shares might give him a bit more confidence.

But when facing the two major shareholders, Yun Zijin and Yu Zejian, he carried no weight at all.

Squeezed between these two titans, Fan Qingmao could already foresee his already thinning hair becoming even sparser.

Yu Zejian’s phone connected quickly and was answered after a few moments.

"Hello! Chairman!"

The other end responded with a noncommittal "Mm." Fan Qingmao, of course, couldn’t let the conversation die, so he continued, "Chairman, I just called Chairman Yun. Chairman Yun said she still has classes and doesn’t have time for the welcome party."

With that one sentence, Fan Qingmao informed Yu Zejian that Yun Zijin was still a student and currently had no intention of making an appearance at the company.

’Not showing up at the company could mean one of two things. First, Yun Zijin has grand ambitions and might be aiming for the chairman’s position.

Second, she’s genuinely ’zen’ about it—she bought the shares on a whim because she’s rich and has no interest in getting involved in the company’s decisions or operations.’

’Since Yun Zijin is a student, Fan Qingmao ventured a guess that she was the latter type.

But Yu Zejian was a suspicious man. Fan Qingmao figured he wouldn’t let it go this easily. His peaceful days were gone, never to return.’

On the other end of the line, upon hearing Fan Qingmao’s report, Yu Zejian frowned slightly, clearly dissatisfied with the outcome.

But he also knew that Fan Qingmao was just a CEO. In the eyes of a second-largest shareholder like Yun Zijin, he was just a small fry.

"I understand. Keep calling her. Probe her intentions some more."

Yu Zejian only held 47% of the shares, which wasn’t the 51% needed for absolute control. So, faced with the sudden appearance of a major shareholder like Yun Zijin, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of crisis.

Although there was a 15% gap between their shares, there was no guarantee Yun Zijin wouldn’t secretly acquire more shares behind the scenes and end up "dazzling" everyone.
