Chapter 511: Taking the Opportunity to Ask for an Access Card

After they finished eating, Lu Yunque’s phone rang. The timing was impeccable.

With her sharp eyesight, Yun Zijin clearly saw the caller ID: Mo Bin.

Yun Zijin raised an eyebrow. ‘I wonder what Mo Bin wants with Lu Yunque, calling at a time like this.’

Lu Yunque answered Mo Bin’s call, his expression unchanged. But if one looked closely, they would see the faint upward curve of his lips.

“Hello? I know. Just give the phone to the security guard…”

After the meal, they left the dining room and sat on the sofa in the living room.

While Lu Yunque was on the phone with Mo Bin, Yun Zijin sat right beside him, openly eavesdropping on the conversation.

Lu Yunque didn’t try to hide it from her. In fact, he even scooted closer, narrowing the distance between them.

From what Lu Yunque was saying, Yun Zijin began to suspect why Mo Bin was coming over.

Finally, after Lu Yunque explained the situation to the security guard, Mo Bin was allowed into the Jade Lake complex.

However, Mo Bin only came as far as the elevator to Yun Zijin’s apartment door. He handed the items to Lu Yunque and left, never once stepping inside.

Yun Zijin watched as Lu Yunque stepped out for a moment and came back with a large bag in his hand.

“What’s this?”

“Of course, it’s… a change of clothes for me to stay the night.”

Lu Yunque placed the bag in front of Yun Zijin. Inside were a bathrobe for after his shower, pajamas to sleep in, and a complete suit for work tomorrow.

Ummm…

And the underwear he’d need.

Yun Zijin: …

“You’ve certainly come prepared. Why not just move your entire walk-in closet over? Then you’d have even more to choose from.”

Yun Zijin rolled her eyes, her retort dripping with sarcasm.

“You’re right. I’ll arrange for people to move it over tomorrow. It’s just… about the access card for the complex…”

Lu Yunque seized the opportunity. Even though he knew Yun Zijin was being sarcastic, he saw nothing wrong with taking her joke at face value.

“Does Mo Bin know his boss is this shameless?”

“Of course he does. The main reason Mo Bin is my special assistant is because he’s good at reading people and knows when to keep his mouth shut.”

As far as Mo Bin was concerned, Lu Yunque had never been a cold, overbearing CEO. He was just a weird boss who occasionally pulled some crazy stunts, especially since he started dating.

Still, as a special assistant, Mo Bin earned every bit of his million-a-year salary.

“I’ll ask the property management to get one for you.”

After being together for so long, Lu Yunque wanting a dedicated room in her apartment was a small request Yun Zijin was willing to grant.

With Yun Zijin’s approval, Lu Yunque immediately began making arrangements.

Yun Zijin currently lived between two places: Jade Lake and Xingyu Mansion.

As for Xingyu Mansion, he had already bought the villa next door, Villa No. 2, so his idea of getting a room inside her place there had to be put on hold for now.

But for the room at Jade Lake, Lu Yunque planned to model it after the layout of his own bedroom, replicating and moving everything he could.

When Lu Yunque finally looked up from his phone, Yun Zijin asked, “About the party Sheng Hao is organizing for tomorrow, should we invite the others? Sheng Yang, Lu Yunfeng, Fu Yang, and Li Yue Xuan.”

‘If Sheng Yang and the guys are coming,’ Yun Zijin mused, ‘I could bring Qin Sitong and Su Mengyao, too.’

“Don’t worry about it. They’ll all be told.”

After Sheng Hao had given him the time and address, Lu Yunque had already told Lu Yunfeng and Lu Yunzhou.

Lu Yunfeng had agreed without any hesitation.

As for Lu Yunzhou, since his injury meant he no longer had to wake up early for training, he was starting to want to enjoy life more.

The gatherings he used to attend were always with his comrades-in-arms, and the activities were pretty much always the same.

Now that he had a chance to attend a party with Dijing’s elite circle alongside Lu Yunque, his curiosity was immediately piqued.

Although he knew Sheng Hao and the others, his profession meant he might not see them even once a year.

Even though Lu Yunzhou was part of Dijing’s elite, he had always existed on its periphery.

Since his injury prevented him from returning to the military, and he would now be seeing these people all the time, he knew he had to integrate into this circle as quickly as possible.

Hearing this from Lu Yunque, Yun Zijin nodded in understanding.

Before bed, Lu Yunque found his chance. WHOOSH! He slipped into Yun Zijin’s room, clinging to her and kissing her for a long time before reluctantly letting go. Then, looking rather flustered, he beat a hasty retreat back to his own room for a cold shower.

Yun Zijin blinked. ‘I didn’t do anything. A certain someone was the one with improper ideas. He got himself into this mess, so he can get himself out of it.’

Before going to sleep, Yun Zijin sat on her bed and opened her phone to check her messages.

In their four-person girls’ group chat, messages were scrolling by at a frantic pace.

Yun Zijin scrolled up. The conversation had started with the party at Ginza tomorrow night.

Qin Sitong was the first to mention it. Apparently, Fu Ze had told her and was planning to bring her along.

Then Su Mengyao and Tu Tutu had chimed in.

Sheng Yang had told Su Mengyao, and Lu Yunfeng had told Tu Tutu.

But Tu Tutu also posted a confused emoji in the chat. She and Lu Yunfeng had only met a handful of times; she couldn’t fathom why he would tell her about the party.

The three of them then began speculating wildly. After all, this was a party jointly hosted by the four heirs of Dijing’s four great families.

The guest list also included the heirs’ brothers and girlfriends.

But Tu Tutu didn’t fit into any of those categories. Finally, the ever-bold Su Mengyao ventured a guess: Lu Yunfeng had improper designs on Tu Tutu.

However, after seeing Su Mengyao’s message, Tu Tutu quickly responded with a horrified emoji.

Lu Yunfeng was so not her type!

Her parents and older brother had all told her that she should only look for a steady and mature boyfriend in the future. Otherwise, if two free-spirited people got together, there would be too many instabilities, and she would likely be the one to get hurt.

Tu Tutu was a complete daddy’s girl, mommy’s girl, and big brother’s girl. When it came to finding a boyfriend, she had always operated on the principle of listening to her parents and brother to save herself a lifetime of heartache.

So far, however, Tu Tutu hadn’t found a boy who met her criteria.

After reading the entire chat history, Yun Zijin typed out her opinion.

—Qingqing Zijing: Just relax. We’ll all be there tomorrow anyway. If you have any problems, you can talk to us anytime.

‘Lu Yunfeng definitely had a thing for Tu Tutu before,’ Yun Zijin thought. ‘But seeing as Tu Tutu has no interest, all I can do is offer him a moment of silent pity.’

As for who Tu Tutu would end up with in the future, that was none of Yun Zijin’s business.

Her only responsibility was to make sure Tu Tutu felt secure enough to say no to Lu Yunfeng.
