The moment she opened the jewelry box, she saw a pair of couple’s necklaces inside, designed to be split into two separate pieces.

"I had these custom-made. They’re called Yun Necklaces. One for you, one for me!"

Lu Yunque couldn’t wait to tell the entire world that Yun Zijin was his girlfriend.

He had gone out of his way to have these couple’s necklaces custom-made.

When the two cloud-shaped pendants were combined, one was solid and fit inside the other, which was hollow.

The two necklaces could be clasped together to form one piece or separated into two.

He’d chosen a cloud design because both of their names contained the character for "Yun," which means cloud. The two clouds represented the two of them.

It had to be said, the design of the two necklaces was full of Lu Yunque’s clever little tricks.

"Okay, put it on for me."

Compared to the high-end jewelry Huo Yue Lan had given her, the necklace from Lu Yunque was more suitable for everyday wear.

Huo Yue Lan’s gift was better suited for formal events and banquets.

Lu Yunque quickly picked up the necklaces, separated them, and draped the one with the solid cloud pendant around Yun Zijin’s neck, fastening it for her.

However, as he was putting the necklace on her, he couldn’t help but see the fair skin on the nape of her neck. Lu Yunque quickly averted his gaze, afraid he might lose control.

There were so many people here, after all. If he dared to make a move on Yun Zijin, he’d be facing a four-person, mixed-gender beatdown.

Lu Yunzhou’s legs weren’t what they used to be, so he couldn’t get physical, but he could certainly offer verbal reminders and take sides.

After Lu Yunque finished putting on her necklace, Yun Zijin picked up the other one—the hollow cloud—and put it on him.

"Should we take a picture and post it on Moments?"

Lu Yunque, who hadn’t posted on Moments in ten years, had started treating it like a diary after getting together with Yun Zijin, flooding everyone’s feed daily.

A boyfriend who posts about you on his Moments might not be one hundred percent sincere, but he’s definitely more reliable than one who refuses to.

Therefore, Yun Zijin rarely turned down such requests from Lu Yunque.

Still, Yun Zijin hesitated. After all, they weren’t the only two people in the main courtyard’s living room.

"Don’t mind us. You two do as you please, really."

Seeing the young couple acting so lovey-dovey and whispering to each other, the old madam was grinning from ear to ear.

"Old Li next door just invited me for a game of chess. I’m off."

The old master was leaning on his cane, but he walked surprisingly fast, quickly leaving the main courtyard and heading in the direction of the Li family’s home.

"My old friends said the plum blossoms at their place have bloomed and invited me to come see them. I’m going, I’m going."

"I think I have some documents I haven’t gotten to yet. I’ll be in the study."

Whether they actually had documents to deal with or not, standing around at a time like this would just be obtuse.

Huo Yue Lan wracked her brain but couldn’t come up with an excuse. Still, her legs were her own, and she could go wherever she pleased.

Lu Yunzhou also silently had someone wheel him out of the main courtyard and back to his own.

The servants also tactfully withdrew from the main courtyard, until finally, only the young couple was left, staring at each other on the chairs.

"Everyone’s gone. Can we take our picture for Moments now?"

Lu Yunque picked up his phone and switched to the camera app.

Yun Zijin hadn’t expected the rest of the Lu Family to clear out just because Lu Yunque mentioned posting on Moments.

At that thought, Yun Zijin’s face felt as if it had been scalded by hot water—so scorching hot you could probably cook an egg on it.

Yun Zijin covered her face with her hands. "Sob... What kind of person makes their elders leave just to take a picture for Moments? If word gets out, I’ll be too embarrassed to face anyone!"

"They all left on their own. It’s not like you kicked them out. No one’s going to spread rumors. Don’t overthink it."

Lu Yunque pulled Yun Zijin into his arms and patted her back soothingly.

Once Yun Zijin had calmed down, Lu Yunque hadn’t forgotten about the Moments post.

After her emotions settled, she wasn’t as embarrassed as before and generously posed for a photo with Lu Yunque. They both posted the exact same thing to their Moments.

Before long, the likes and comments started rolling in.

Yun Zijin looked at the comments and picked a few to reply to. She ignored the ones that were nonsensical or dripping with sarcasm.

From elementary school through college, she had added a fair number of classmates on WeChat whom she never messaged.

For all these years, they’d been completely silent, as if they were dead accounts.

She never expected that the moment she got rich, they would all come flocking to her, eager for a piece of the action.

But seeing her Moments post with Lu Yunque, some of them couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy.

However, Yun Zijin paid them no mind. People who get jealous of you aren’t trying to be genuine friends.

There was no need to maintain such pointless social connections.

Lu Yunque’s side was much livelier than Yun Zijin’s. Besides the likes and flattering comments, there were also the cheeky remarks from his friends.

Just like Yun Zijin, Lu Yunque only replied to a select few comments, ignoring the rest.

After posting to Moments, Lu Yunque casually turned his head, just as Yun Zijin turned hers toward him, her lips slightly parted as if she were about to say something.

Lu Yunque lowered his gaze, his eyes fixing on her cherry-red lips, vibrant without any lipstick.

Before he knew it, his palm was cupping the nape of Yun Zijin’s neck as he lowered his head slightly and captured that splash of red.

After a long moment, Lu Yunque finally brought himself to pull back a little, but his arms kept her circled in his embrace.

He reached up to straighten Yun Zijin’s slightly disheveled clothes, then swept her up into his arms and started walking toward his own courtyard.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to put Yun Zijin down, but a certain... area... had become a bit awkward, and holding her was the only way to hide his predicament.

Yun Zijin’s face was beet-red the entire time, and in the end, she just gave up and closed her eyes.

’If I can’t see them, they can’t see me.’

Back in his courtyard, Lu Yunque placed her on the chaise lounge and then turned and went into the bathroom.

While Lu Yunque was taking a cold shower, Yun Zijin took out her phone to check her messages.

In her four-person girls’ group chat, messages were refreshing rapidly.

Yun Zijin tapped into the chat and quickly joined the conversation.

Qin Sitong had sent a picture of herself at a 4S car dealership.

She had wanted to buy a car for a long time, but she never had the chance, so it never happened.

Now, taking advantage of the New Year’s Day sales event, she had dragged her parents to the Auto Museum City.

Yun Zijin was the landlord of the South Suburb Auto Museum City, so before Qin Sitong went car shopping, she sent a message to Wu Yutang.

Although she wasn’t the owner of the Auto Museum City, Wu Yutang knew what to do to keep his landlord, Yun Zijin, from raising the rent.

Otherwise, if he didn’t treat her friend well and she went back and complained, his Auto Museum City probably wouldn’t be in business for much longer.

—Qingqing Zijing: I already spoke to the boss of the Auto Museum City. When you get there, he’ll definitely give you the lowest possible discount. Take your time and pick a good one.

—Tu Tutu Tu: You have connections at the Auto Museum City?!

Tu Tutu had met her more recently, so she wasn’t fully aware of how many assets Yun Zijin had.

—Exquisite Yaoyao Girl: You should be asking if the boss of the Auto Museum City pays rent to her.

The title "Little Landlady of Dijing" wasn’t for nothing.

—Qingqing Zijing: ...
