Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)
Chapter 709: Warriors and Mages
Third Person’s POV
As Ethan listened to the Nexus spirit’s explanation, his heart began to pound violently.
He understood that the information she was casually imparting was extraordinarily valuable.
Even from this brief explanation, he could already make out the general path he would have to follow to reach the Heaven Connection Realm, the realm of Rank Five beings.
At the same time, he finally understood why Rank Five beings were so rare in this world and why they were classified as forbidden beings.
Fully mastering a natural elemental law or a Will Intent was an almost impossible feat, even for someone with monstrous talent like himself.
Without proper guidance, miraculous opportunities such as the one he had just received, or unimaginable treasures that could aid one’s comprehension, reaching such a level was nearly inconceivable.
After all, even his recent breakthrough had required a series of extraordinary circumstances.
He had stumbled upon traces of the Law of Devouring, experienced an unprecedented state of enlightenment, and managed to turn what might otherwise have been a situation of certain death into a tremendous leap forward in his comprehension.
And even then, he had only taken the first steps toward mastering the law.
Although he had yet to learn how difficult it was to master a Will Intent, he could reasonably assume that the process was no easier than mastering a natural law.
It might even be more difficult.
Otherwise, considering how many warriors existed in this world, there should have been far more forbidden beings who followed the path of martial cultivation rather than magic.
Yet, throughout his life, every forbidden being he had encountered or heard about had either possessed an ancestral bloodline that favored a particular law or been an exceptional talent like the Ice Emperor, who had mastered a certain ice law.
He had never heard of a single warrior among them.
The realization stirred his curiosity, and a question suddenly occurred to him.
"Nexy, tell me something. Are Rank Five warriors even more terrifying than Rank Five mages?"
[What did you just call me?]
The girlish voice that had been speaking with the solemnity of an experienced elder suddenly shrieked like a young girl being teased, completely ruining the serious atmosphere she had established.
Ethan couldn’t help chuckling at her reaction.
"We are going to stay together for who knows how many years.
Isn’t it only natural for us to become friends, especially after how much you have helped me?"
He spoke sincerely, without any intention of flattering her.
The Nexus spirit’s guidance was already changing the course of his life, and that influence would only grow as he continued to develop his strength.
She was helping him understand the principles of power and revealing paths that he might otherwise have taken countless years to discover on his own.
If he were being honest with himself, her influence on his future might eventually prove even greater than that of his Master, Nyx, simply because of how important the knowledge she was imparting to him was.
Not to forget that star information that made him acutely aware of his power and overall state, giving him suitable directions to grow stronger without falling into pitfalls and mires of confusion with no way out.
[Hmph! What kind of cringe name is Nexy?
Do you think I am a child?
Call me Lilith! Or, better yet, Lady Lilith for you!]
Black lines formed on Ethan’s forehead as he listened to her demand.
Nevertheless, he decided that arguing over a name would accomplish nothing, so he obediently played along.
"Um... Lady Lilith, could you tell me whether Rank Five warriors are even more terrifying than Rank Five mages?"
[Well, if I’m being frank... yes.
Most Rank Five warriors can defeat ordinary Rank Five mages who have ascended by merely mastering a Lesser Law as the foundation of their Heaven World.
However, beings with ancestral bloodlines can stand against such warriors because their innate bloodline abilities can strengthen and enhance their Law Power, provided the law they cultivate is compatible with their bloodline.
This is also why your master, Nyx, being a Dark Dragoness, doesn’t specialize in some random element like earth, wind, or lightning.
The same applies to that little vampire bitch.
Her foundation is the Lesser Law of Blood, which is perfectly compatible with her bloodline.
This is also one of the reasons the human race is so weak.
You see, humans don’t possess ancestral bloodlines that allow them to inherit powerful bloodline abilities from their ancestors like demons, devils, elves, vampires, or werewolves.
The only thing they can occasionally pass down is elemental talent, and even that is unpredictable and far from guaranteed.
At the same time, humans shouldn’t be underestimated, as they aren’t limited by their bloodline in the same way other races are in terms of elemental affinity and mastering a natural law.
If one of them becomes a Rank Five mage by mastering a Greater Law, or a warrior by mastering Will Intent, they can easily suppress any creature that lacks comparable mastery of a Greater Law or Will Intent, regardless of how powerful its bloodline might be.]
As Lilith finished her explanation, Ethan’s mind was left reeling from the sheer amount of immensely valuable information she had casually imparted.
Each sentence revealed another layer of the power structure governing this world, allowing him to connect several pieces of information that had previously seemed unrelated.
However, amid everything she had said, one particular term had caught his attention.
’Heaven World...’
His thoughts lingered on those two words, and the more he considered them, the more convinced he became that they were far more significant than they initially appeared.
Lilith had mentioned them almost casually while explaining the foundation of a Rank Five mage, yet something about the term made him feel that it concealed a secret concerning the true nature of Rank Five beings.
After all, Rank Five beings were also known as existences of the Heaven Connection Realm.
If forming a Heaven World was the foundation of their power, then perhaps the two concepts were closely connected.
Ethan had a vague guess about what it might mean, although he lacked sufficient information to reach a definite conclusion.
After hesitating for a moment, he finally decided to ask.
"Um... what exactly is a Heaven World, Lady Lilith?"
[You’re surprisingly observant, aren’t you, little Ethan?]
Lilith’s childish voice carried a hint of amusement, but the moment she continued speaking, her tone changed.
The playful quality faded, replaced by solemnity.
[I can’t tell you about that right now.
And before you ask why, I’ll explain the reason myself.
Currently, you are simply not qualified to know this information yet.
First, you need to at least master the Aspect of Twisting and become a peak Rank Three mage.
Only then will I tell you about the Heaven World.]
Ethan listened silently, taking her words to heart.
Although he was naturally curious about the secret behind the Heaven World, he understood that pressing Lilith for an answer would accomplish nothing.
If she had deliberately set such a condition, then whatever she knew was probably far beyond his current understanding.
He would simply have to become stronger before he could learn more.
