Chapter 972: Chapter 753: Superego, the Final Foundation (Part 2)

Qin An didn’t want to die. If he had wanted to, he wouldn’t have struggled to live up to this point.

But now, the only path before him was to take a step forward. There were no other options.

Even if the chances were one in ten thousand, he still had to find a way to survive.

So after a brief moment of contemplation, Qin An began to ponder the information Emperor Xuanwu had told him.

He wasn’t a fool. He knew that in this situation, even if he wanted to move forward, he couldn’t act recklessly.

Otherwise, acting recklessly would result in his complete demise.

After pondering for a moment, Qin An finally understood the meaning behind Emperor Xuanwu’s words.

Use the purest power of the Celestial Thunder to cleanse the filth and impurities from himself, and then use the power of the thunder to forge his Supreme Body Essence.

But how, exactly, could the power of the thunder cleanse his impurities?

This was a huge problem.

Would he really need to abandon his Dharma Aspect to receive the baptism of the thunder?

Qin An felt there was no need for such measures, nor was it feasible.

After all, if he really did that, it was likely he would be struck by the thunder and turned to ashes the next second.

This place wasn’t the golden light he had encountered before, nor was it the Dragon Vein he encountered later.

In those two places, even if he shed all his defenses, he still had room for maneuver; even when faced with life-or-death crises, there was a possibility for him to turn the situation around.

But trying to turn the situation around here was exceptionally difficult.

Not to mention anything else, just the fact that if he were struck to ashes by the thunder, he wouldn’t only die, but everything he had done before would be in vain.

He certainly didn’t want everything to be in vain, nor did he want to die; he wanted to live on and thrive, so he had to come up with a solution.

The Thunder, the purest force in the world, could wash away his impurities and provide him with surpassing Supreme Body Essence. But could this cleansing force really only purify the physical body?

He pondered carefully, and suddenly a flash of insight crossed his mind.

Firstly, the Supreme Body Essence he was forging was in essence his self-awareness evolving continuously.

The self, followed by the higher self, and then the transcendent self – these are all stages of transformation.

Secondly, the current cleansing of the self and Supreme Body Essence was also a transformation of self-awareness, allowing him a deeper understanding of this world and himself.

In other words, was this thunder cleansing not of the physical body, but of his self-awareness, or perhaps his instincts?

Lastly, the thunder in this world possessed the purest power, and perhaps this pure power was meant to cleanse the impurities of the spirit.

Only then could it be deemed pure.

Once he thought everything out, he found his idea to be very plausible.

Of course, regardless of plausibility, he had to try it out to see.

Without any hesitation, he began attempting to unleash the power deep within his spirit.

He excelled in this task more than anyone else because he had previously engaged with the Spiritual World and even experienced the terror of Spiritual Power.

Qin An didn’t need much thought to know precisely what to do.

As Qin An continuously sank into his consciousness, soon enough, he was in touch with the power of the thunder.

His consciousness spread forward, and once expanded, it seemed to enter the domain of the Ten Thousand Thunder River.

Suddenly, a crack sounded as thunder struck directly onto his consciousness.

This reaction took him by surprise.

Moreover, the thread of consciousness he had condensed earlier disappeared without trace under the thunder’s assault, as if it had never existed.

"No, this method is wrong; there’s no way I can do this."

Qin An frowned, sensing an important barrier before him.

Because in his view, his idea seemed correct, but when he actually placed his consciousness into it, what awaited him was a merciless blow.

This scene completely overturned his perception, proving all his thoughts as wrong.

While lost in deep thought, Qin An carefully considered a solution.

Yet at the moment, everything rendered him helpless.

The flesh couldn’t enter, or it would turn to ash; consciousness couldn’t enter. Earlier when he sent forth a thread of consciousness, it was destroyed by the thunder, both form and spirit.

If he really placed his entire consciousness into it, complete death awaited him.

With these two critical components unable to enter, how could he achieve the surpassing Supreme Body Essence?

The more Qin An thought, the more he felt trapped in a dead end, unable to figure out a specific solution.

However, after careful consideration, suddenly a ray of light emerged in Qin An’s mind.

This light was like a fish swimming, elusive and untouchable.

He knew he was on the verge of understanding something but couldn’t grasp it completely.

Qin An frowned tightly, following the inspiration that flashed through his mind, trying to seize it.

Yet the more he tried to grasp it, the more elusive the light became, like a slick mudfish slipping away.

He knew he was definitely onto something but couldn’t capture it.

Taking a deep breath, Qin An forced himself to calm down, continuing to follow the inspiration from earlier, pondering how to unravel the current situation.

As time passed, the sun gradually set.

After such a long time, he maintained a pose, stiff as a rock, solely focused on finding a solution to the dilemma.

But no matter how he thought, it was always missing that tiny aspect.

Qin An took a deep breath and patted his head strongly: "Since one person deep in thought can’t solve the problem, I’ll broaden my thinking and look for answers in recent experiences."

Qin An quickly shifted perspectives.

He was no longer confined to that light but thought about all the things he had encountered while forging the Supreme Body Essence.

Soon, he seemed to have discovered a clue.

Everything was quite normal during the forging of his Supreme Body Essence, but upon reaching the higher self’s Supreme Body Essence, he encountered a Selfless Realm cultivator who left him a phrase:

"Everything is false, caught within the mist, nothing remains."

Upon hearing this phrase, Qin An immediately understood the reasoning.

"Could forging the transcendent Supreme Body Essence mean genuinely altering one’s perception of this world?"

With this reasoning, Qin An finally grasped the earlier inspiration.

He looked up at the thunder surging across the sky, a bold idea forming within him.

"Perhaps all my previous thoughts were wrong; it’s not the physical body, nor the power of the spirit, but rather using the so-called thunder to cleanse my soul."

Aside from a person’s physical body and spirit, what remains is the power of the soul. The soul dominates the physical existence; any issue with it means the physical body ceases to exist.

Qin An knew his idea was incredibly bold, but he had to give it a try.

In his imagination, this was the last viable method.

It’s precisely this notion that aligns with the message left by that voice.

To overturn all imaginations and employ the most unimaginable means to solve the mystery here.

This idea, once surfaced, frenziedly took root in Qin An’s mind.

He took a deep breath, his gaze growing resolute.

He at least had to give it a shot to see if the approach worked, even if it was amidst life and death.

Immediately, Qin An sank his spirit, then used his innate power to communicate with his soul.

He dispatched part of his power to quickly surge toward the Ten Thousand Thunder River.

As his soul rushed toward the Ten Thousand Thunder River, the river reacted as if grabbing an adversary, condensing the thunder from the sky.
