Chapter 1022: NEW DISCOVERIES
"IT’S GROWING," Mona said, smiling while looking at the small sprout that was starting to grow on the small Garden of Life that they created for Neoma’s Seedling. "My love, our grandson is growing up well."
Nikolai, who was squatting down like her while watching the sprout, gave a small smile and nodded. "You’re right, my love. It’s safe to say that we’ve succeeded. Although it still feels awkward to acknowledge the Seedling as our grandson. It’s the same as acknowledging Commander Solfrid as my son-in-law."
Mona just rolled her eyes at her husband’s overprotectiveness.
But she would admit that she enjoyed ’traveling’ with Nikolai these days.
Although we only travel back and forth between the empire and the Spirit World.
They would return to the empire if Nero needed help with his administrative job.
But, most of the time, the two of them would stay in the Spirit World to personally take care of the Seedling that Neoma planted in the Garden of Life.
After all, the Seedling is our grandson.
"My love, I wonder how much more we can protect our grandson," Mona wondered out loud. "I’m worried because Tara is growing more and more nervous every time we set foot in her world. I have a bad feeling."
"Unfortunately, this is the only environment where the Seedling can grow safely," Nikolai said while gently rubbing Mona’s back. "My love, don’t worry too much. My Soul Beasts and Neoma’s Spirits are here to protect the Seedling. Moreover, William often visits here."
Right.
Just like Mona and Nikolai, William would also travel between the empire and the Spirit World.
Maybe I’m just being paranoid because this is Neoma’s future son.
"Your Majesties."
Both Mona and Nikolai jumped up when someone suddenly spoke behind them.
The two of them almost pulled out their weapons.
But they stopped when they realized who it was.
"Ruto, don’t sneak from behind," Mona scolded the young commander. "We almost killed you."
Not that Ruto Solfrid was easy to kill.
"I apologize for startling you, Your Majesties," Ruto Solfrid said politely while bowing his head. "I have urgent news for you."
"Speak," Nikolai said urgently. After all, both Mona and Nikolai knew that the only news Ruto Solfrid would be bringing was news about Neoma. "How is our daughter doing?"
"Princess Neoma is scheduled to return sometime next week if her plans don’t change," Ruto Solfrid answered politely, addressing Neoma by her proper title because he was talking to Mona and Nikolai. "Your Majesties, please finish your preparations for the battle until then."
"Of course," Mona said confidently. "We won’t be a burden to our daughter."

NEOMA wanted to return home after she met the old Aether, but there was one problem.
She pestered Lord Manu when she returned while the Moon Priest was in the ruined prayer room of Goddess Roxana’s temple.
As expected, Lord Manu scolded her.
"Princess Neoma, you should realize by now that not everyone has the same amount of divine power as you," Lord Manu, the Moon Priest, scolded her as soon as she said she wanted to go home. "I said we needed to stay here for a year because that’s the duration I need to recover the amount of Mana I used when I brought you and your friends here."
Tsk.
Neoma looked at Lord Manu disapprovingly while shaking her head. "For a Moon Priest, you have a low amount of divine power, Lord Manu."
As expected, the Moon Priest got offended by her taunting.
"Again, not everyone is a monster like you," Lord Manu said through gritted teeth, and then he shooed her away with a wave of his hand. "Shoo, shoo. I need to pray to Lord Yule."
Aigoo.
Neoma wanted to tease Lord Manu more for being a ’weakling,’ but she noticed that Lewis was standing by the door.
Why does my son look nervous?
Curious, she walked towards her son and quickly interrogated him.
"What’s up, Lewis?" Neoma asked, raising an eyebrow. "Why do you look nervous?"
"Lu said something," Lewis said, his face beaming. "He said there are other survivors of the Silver Fox Clan aside from me."
Oh?

NEOMA wondered why she didn’t remember that there were other survivors of the Silver Fox Clan except for Lewis.
Hence, she wondered how she could miss that detail.
Is it because I wasn’t close to Lewis in my past life?
"So, where can we find the remaining members of the Silver Fox Clan that survived the purge?" Neoma asked Lu, aka the Lewis of the Dead World. "Since we’re the same age right now, I guess it’s safe to assume that they might also be alive in our timeline."
"I can’t share that information carelessly," Lu said calmly, but it was obvious that he was being cautious of Neoma. "But I can tell you that some of the survivors are blood-related to me."
Neoma gasped in surprise.
Lewis looked shocked as well.
After all, they weren’t just talking about members of the Silver Fox Clan— they were talking about Lewis’ direct family members!
"Lewis..."
Neoma wanted to say more, but she choked up.
Yes, she was being emotional. Tears welled up in her eyes. She couldn’t remember when was the last time she cried.
But she wasn’t embarrassed.
After all...
"I’m happy for you, Lewis," Neoma said in a cracked voice, gently patting Lewis on the shoulder because she was truly happy for her son. "I promise you— we will find your family as soon as we return home."
Lewis nodded, and it seemed like he couldn’t speak as well because he was trying hard not to cry. "Thank you, Princess Neoma," he said, and then he quickly looked around as if searching for something or someone. "I can’t wait to tell Duchess Quinzel about this."
Hmm?
Neoma was confused when Lewis suddenly looked for Hanna, so her tears suddenly stopped rolling down her cheeks.
Aren’t we having a little moment here?
