Chapter 207: Insect Swarm Mind Network! Crisis Descends

“I’m sure you two know that my Insect Swarm is spawned by the Mother of Ten Thousand Worms. While they can reproduce rapidly, each member of the Insect Race requires a massive amount of precious resources to create. So, what are you two willing to trade for them?”

Qin Yu spoke frankly, a hint of lament in his voice.

“To be honest with you, my Qin Family has poured all of its resources into cultivating the Mother of Ten Thousand Worms and her Insect Swarm, including everything we acquired from the Cyan Profound Sect. Even my recent hunts against the numerous Evil Demon Sects were for the sake of resources!”

He shook his head gently and continued.

“While the Insect Swarm has claimed some spoils from conquering strongholds, it has also suffered considerable casualties. And what’s more, I still have to face the inevitable counterattack from those Evil Demon Sects…”

Li Linfeng and Chen Ce exchanged a look, both understanding the deeper meaning behind Qin Yu’s words.

‘The War Beasts under his command, the ones he calls the Insect Swarm… they’re for sale!’

‘But for a price!’

They didn’t doubt his explanation, either.

It would be truly strange if the Insect Swarm could be spawned so easily without consuming precious resources.

War Beasts capable of spawning large numbers of combat units were not unheard of.

In Ling State’s most powerful Beast Taming Sect, the Ten Thousand Beasts Sect, there were quite a few such individuals.

For example, one of them was an illustrious Myriad Phenomena Master known as the “Ant Master.” His life-bound War Beast was a “Dragon Ant.”

It was capable of spawning vast numbers of powerful ant-type War Beasts.

Ants that possessed the bloodline of the Dragon Race!

Even among Myriad Phenomena Masters, the Ant Master was considered one of the absolute top-tier.

And in order to raise his Dragon Ant Army, this Ant Master was also famously poor!

Other cultivators only needed to gather resources for their own Cultivation.

He, on the other hand, had to gather them for his entire Dragon Ant Army!

No matter how wealthy someone was, it would never be enough to support such an expense.

Within the Ten Thousand Beasts Sect, there were many others like the Ant Master.

That was why the Ten Thousand Beasts Sect was also the most famous “dealer” of War Beasts in Ling State, and perhaps even the entire Great Wei Dynasty!

Qin Yu’s situation, therefore, was perfectly normal.

Li Linfeng was perfectly aware that Qin Yu had been frantically hunting Evil Demons for Merit Points lately.

Li Linfeng immediately smiled and replied:

“Since you’re being so frank, Brother Qin, we won’t beat around the bush either. The Demon Suppression Bureau spends its days purging evil, and we have our own share of Primordial Stones and precious resources in our vaults. Brother Qin, feel free to tell us what you need most at the moment. As long as it doesn’t violate the law or moral principles, everything is negotiable.”

Chen Ce also nodded solemnly and spoke up.

“The Evil Suppression Bureau Army shares the same stance as the Demon Suppression Bureau. We’ve all witnessed the combat prowess and absolute discipline of your Insect Swarm during our previous cooperation. If the price is fair, I will personally do everything in my power to report this to my superiors and make this happen.”

They truly wanted them.

They coveted everything from the Flying War Beasts, like the Thunder Roc and Four-winged Black Thorn Eagle, to the Rapid Insects with their supreme combat power, incredible sense of smell, and uncanny ability to detect Demon Fiends.

If they could acquire a batch of them, the strength of the forces under their command would undoubtedly increase dramatically.

In a world where ultimate power is one’s own, strength was the foundation of everything!

“Excellent!”

Qin Yu nodded. ‘As long as they have resources, this will be easy!’

He had no doubt about the financial might of the Demon Suppression Bureau and the Evil Suppression Bureau Army.

Even if they didn’t have the resources on hand, their status allowed them to request more from higher up.

Using the government’s resources to increase their own strength was a business that promised immense returns.

‘Selling off some of the Insect Race, huh?’

Qin Yu had long been prepared for this possibility.

A single trade in Bishui City had already netted him many precious treasures and Cultivation Techniques.

There was no reason not to do it again.

The Insect Swarm’s thirst for resources was unending.

In recent days, the Insect Swarm had expanded at extreme speed throughout the wilderness.

Its total numbers had quickly surpassed a million, and with exponential growth, had blown past the ten-million mark. If one included the scout units, the total count would have to be measured in the hundreds of millions!

However, the vast majority of these were ordinary units.

The combat units were also predominantly Tier One and Tier Two.

That is, the Body Forging Realm and the Qi and Blood Realm.

As for high-end combatants at the Qi Sea Realm level, they were still in relatively short supply.

Spawning units at the Qi Sea Realm required Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi.

The Insect Swarm was mining day and night in the small Primordial Stone Vein from the Cyan Profound Sect. At the same time, its forces on campaign had breached more than a dozen large Evil Demon strongholds, acquiring additional resources.

This allowed for the continuous spawning of Qi Sea Realm units.

But relative to the entire Insect Swarm, it was far too little!

Creating Leviathans Number Two and Number Three had already consumed most of the Primordial Stone Vein and precious resources obtained from the Cyan Profound Sect.

Then there were the Thunder Beasts and Tunneling Worms—two types of units that devoured resources like behemoths.

Qin Yu had also invested massive resources into the newly acquired Special Units—the Gold-devouring Insect and Soul Devouring Spider—to deduce an Insect Tide form, as well as to develop the new Insect Queen unit.

This was all on top of various other projects already in progress: developing the Hive Guard based on Cultivation Method Deduction; his own future combat form, the Hive Tyrant Form; cultivating various other Insect Race units and special Gu Insects; and improving the absorption efficiency of the Mimicry Fungus Carpet System as it devoured Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi.

There were far, far too many demands on his resources.

No amount of resources would be enough to fuel the Insect Swarm’s consumption.

As a result, the total number of Qi Sea Realm combatants in the entire Swarm was only a little over two hundred thousand.

Although in the context of Yunlong County, this number was nothing short of heaven-defying.

But for the Insect Swarm, it was still far from enough.

Trading with the Demon Suppression Bureau and Evil Suppression Bureau Army in Yunlong County would provide resources to alleviate the pressure of the Swarm’s expansion and allow him to cultivate more high-end units.

It would also bind these local powers—the Demon Suppression Bureau and the Evil Suppression Bureau Army—more closely to him, forging a community of shared interests and mitigating the pressure he might face in the future.

“I need many things. Besides the obvious Primordial Stones and precious ores, I’ll also accept powerful Secret Techniques, Exotic Beasts, powerful Dao Soldiers, or Battle Array Methods.”
