Chapter 89: Release Announcement

There will be no update tomorrow at 8 AM. Instead, I will be releasing ten VIP Chapters at noon. After that, updates will return to the usual 8 AM schedule.

First of all, thank you all for your support. Without it, I definitely wouldn’t be able to keep writing this book. I’m deeply grateful to every one of my readers.

I’ve only recently picked writing back up, so I feel a bit behind the times.

I started writing novels in 2013 and wrote three complete books by 2017. My first book was over three million characters long. I had just graduated from university, and its subscription numbers were abysmal—only a few dozen subscribers.

However, since I was a fresh graduate with not much pressure, I managed to persevere and finish it.

My second book was over two million characters, and it performed reasonably well, earning me tens of thousands of yuan.

My third book had a lot of setbacks. I eventually finished it at over 1.5 million characters, and after that, I stopped writing altogether.

I started writing again because of the pandemic. I was stuck in my company’s dormitory and, out of sheer boredom, I wrote a bunch of different novel openings.

Then I just went ahead and published my last book. I never thought it would get a contract, but to my surprise, it did. I hadn’t planned out the story at all, so it completely fell apart later on.

This year, my company isn’t doing well, and I feel like I could be laid off at any moment. With more free time on my hands, I decided to try writing another book.

To be honest, I initially wanted to write a story set in the entertainment industry. Unfortunately, that book didn’t get a contract, so I deleted it and posted this one instead. I then got a huge break thanks to my editor, Penglai, and I’m very grateful for it.

I can’t manage to write 10,000 characters a day anymore. This is mainly due to health reasons and my slow typing speed. I write until the early hours of the morning just to finish three Chapters.

So, all I can promise is a steady three Chapters per day, with an occasional mass release.

In fact, up to this point, we’ve only just reached the main theme. The story will truly begin once all the buildings have been constructed.

Everyone does a mass release when their VIP Chapters start, so I’ll do a ten-Chapter release as well. It’ll be a tough night of writing, but I hope you’ll all support the launch with your subscriptions.

Based on the reader retention data from the site’s backend, this book’s subscription numbers are probably going to flop. I really hope it doesn’t end up like my first book. Still, persistence is victory.
