Sacrificed To The Triplet Alpha Kings
Chapter 437: What Do You Mean You Felt Him?
"Love you too," Sebastian said. His thrusts becoming erratic. "God, Lilith, I love you. I...."
He came hard. Buried deep inside her. His entire body shaking with the force of it.
And Lilith came again. Smaller this time but still intense. Still overwhelming.
Her magic flared brighter. Dual forces blazing. The room filled with the scent of growing things and decay happening simultaneously.
Through the bonds she felt Sebastian’s pleasure. Felt Lucian’s satisfaction. Felt their love and grief and desperate need all tangled together.
And for just a moment....just one impossible moment....
She felt a third bond. Faint. Distant. Like an echo from very far away.
Nicholas.
Not gone. Not completely. Just....somewhere else. Separated but not destroyed.
The sensation faded almost immediately.
But it had been there. Real and undeniable.
Sebastian collapsed on top of her. Breathing hard. His weight pressing her into the mattress.
Lucian’s hand found hers and squeezed.
All three of them lay tangled together. Sweaty. Exhausted. Grief and pleasure mixed so thoroughly it was impossible to separate them.
And then Lilith started crying.
Not quiet tears. Full sobs that shook her entire body.
Because the pleasure had been real. The connection had been real. The love had been real.
But so was the grief. So was the guilt. So was the overwhelming sense that she had just betrayed Nicholas by finding pleasure without him.
"I’m sorry," Lilith sobbed. "I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t....we shouldn’t have...."
"Stop," Sebastian said immediately. He rolled off her and pulled her against his chest. "Don’t apologize. Don’t feel guilty for being alive. For needing connection. For trying to feel something other than grief."
Lucian moved to her other side. Both of them holding her while she cried.
"Nicholas would want this," Lucian said quietly. "He would want us to love you. To take care of you. To help you feel alive. Don’t dishonor his sacrifice by refusing to live."
"But I felt him," Lilith whispered. "During....I felt him. Touching me. Helping. Like he was here even though he’s gone."
Sebastian and Lucian exchanged looks over her head.
"What do you mean you felt him?" Sebastian asked carefully.
"Phantom touches," Lilith said. "Cool hands holding me. A mouth on my breast when you were both elsewhere. Presence that shouldn’t exist. I felt Nicholas through the bond. Faint. Distant. But real."
"Lilith...." Lucian’s voice was gentle. "Nicholas is gone. The entity consumed him. There’s no part of him left to feel."
"I know that," Lilith said. "But I felt him anyway. I’m not imagining it. Something is there. Something connected to the broken bond. Something that feels like Nicholas even though it can’t be."
Sebastian looked troubled. "Maybe it’s your grief creating sensations you want to feel. Your mind filling the empty space with phantom memories of him."
"Or maybe," Lucian said quietly, "the bonds are doing something we don’t understand. Reacting to Lilith’s new power in ways that create.....echoes. Impressions of what used to be there."
"Or maybe he’s not completely gone," Lilith whispered.
Both brothers went still.
"Lilith....." Sebastian started.
"I know it sounds impossible," Lilith interrupted. "I know the entity consumed him. I know his body dissolved. I know all the logical reasons he can’t still exist. But Sebastian, Lucian....what if the bonds are strong enough to hold onto pieces of him? What if some fragment of his consciousness survived in the connection we share?"
"That’s not how resurrection works," Sebastian said gently. "When someone is consumed by the Veil entity, they’re gone. Completely. There’s no coming back from that."
"But I came back," Lilith pointed out. "I died. I was gone. And I came back because Nicholas anchored my soul through the bonds. What if the same bonds that brought me back are holding onto pieces of him?"
Lucian looked at Sebastian. Some silent question passing between them.
Neither of them had an answer.
Because the truth was....they did not know. The bonds were behaving strangely. Lilith’s power was unprecedented. And resurrection magic had rules they were only beginning to understand.
Maybe she was imagining things because she wanted so desperately for Nicholas to still exist.
Or maybe....
Maybe something impossible was happening that they could not yet comprehend.
"We’ll ask Elena," Sebastian said finally. "And Victoria. They understand magic and bonds better than we do. Maybe they can explain what you’re feeling."
"Okay," Lilith said quietly.
She did not think Elena or Victoria would have answers. But at least they would ask. At least they would investigate instead of dismissing her experience as grief-induced delusion.
Lilith lay between Sebastian and Lucian and felt exhaustion pull at her.
Physical exhaustion from the intensity of what they had just done. Emotional exhaustion from grief and guilt and overwhelming sensation.
Her eyes started to close despite her best efforts to stay awake.
"Sleep," Sebastian murmured. "We’ll be here when you wake up."
"Promise?" Lilith whispered.
"Promise," Lucian confirmed.
Lilith let herself drift.
The last thought before sleep claimed her was of cool hands. Phantom touches. The impossible feeling that Nicholas was not completely gone.
And somewhere in the darkness of her mind, in the empty space where his bond used to be....
She felt an echo.
Faint. Distant. But undeniably there.
"I’m here."

*THE NEXT DAY*
***
The alarm bells woke Lilith from the first peaceful sleep she’d had in days.
Her eyes flew open and for a disorienting moment she didn’t know where she was. Then she felt the warmth on either side of her, Sebastian on her left, Lucian on her right, both of them already moving before they were fully awake.
Warriors. Alphas. Men who had spent their entire lives responding to threats with immediate action so well that their body had adapted to it.
"What is that?" Lilith asked, sitting up.
"Estate alarm," Sebastian said, already on his feet and pulling on clothes. "Someone breached the outer perimeter."
Lucian was dressed almost as quickly. "The witches. They must have forced their way past the border patrol."
