"Not a single one of you can go a day without causing trouble. Take her away, now!"

The woman waved her hand dismissively, signaling for Paul to hurry and take away the female zombie who had lost her mind.

Once she was the only one left in the house, she began to meticulously inspect it from top to bottom. Faye Yardley even saw her enter the storage room.

"This is so irritating. The stench is getting worse and worse. Dammit, why can’t they stop themselves from losing their minds?"

Muttering in discontent, she continued to inspect the rooms one by one.

Finally, the woman in high heels returned to Amy’s door and began to pound on it furiously. BANG BANG BANG.

"Amy, stop playing dead! Get the hell out here, now! Your little lover has lost her mind. If you don’t come out, I’m washing my hands of you both."

Since Caleb Colby had already stored Amy’s body in his backpack, Faye Yardley knew no one would answer the woman.

But she could hardly guess what the woman would do if she didn’t get a response.

But then the door opened, revealing a timid-looking bald man. "Sis."

"What’s with you? Spacing out?"

Mrs. Sheldon looked Amy up and down, gave his arm a couple of tugs, then flicked him on the forehead. "You’ll do. Since you’re out, come with me. The lab needs your cooperation."

"Oh, but... Sis, can I sit this one out?"

"If you don’t go, am I supposed to? Hurry up, and stop dragging your feet." Mrs. Sheldon took a few steps, then turned back and stared at Amy intently. "Just tough it out. You only need to pass two more lab tests, and then you can go live in New City. So stop moping."

Amy mumbled an affirmation and sullenly followed Mrs. Sheldon.

As he walked down the stairs, he suddenly turned his head and glanced toward the spot where Faye Yardley was hiding.

Faye Yardley clutched her chest. Her heart was pounding abnormally fast, prompting her to draw on the Ice Element from the Fantasy Magic Seed within her and encase her heart in ice.

’I thought he was dead and his body was collected. How is there another one?’

’Multiple Amys?’

’If Mrs. Sheldon is sure the person with her is Amy, then who was the one Caleb Colby and the others killed?’

With her heart no longer racing, Faye Yardley frowned slightly, immediately left her hiding spot, and slipped into the room next to Amy’s.

The room was clearly a master bedroom, likely belonging to Mrs. Sheldon.

Faye Yardley didn’t dare to move carelessly. She stood by the door and scanned the room, which appeared to be perfectly normal.

Her ears twitched. With a light leap, Faye Yardley pressed herself flat against the ceiling and began moving swiftly toward the window on the opposite wall.

Just as she flattened herself on top of a large wardrobe, the door opened.

"I swear, I can’t get a single day of peace! How did... Ugh, it stinks! You damned bastards, who gave you permission to enter my room? It stinks, it stinks!"

The faint stench wafting through her room made Mrs. Sheldon even more irritable.

She strode to the window, yanked open the curtains, and threw open the window, but when the outside air blew in, she grew even more furious.

She slammed the window shut with a loud BANG.

"It stinks, it stinks! Aaargh! Why is the air freshener gone?"

All the while, Faye Yardley remained on top of the wardrobe, not daring to move a muscle. She didn’t even risk looking at Mrs. Sheldon.

’This Mrs. Sheldon is clearly no ordinary person. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to order everyone around like that.’

Faye Yardley thought about the New City she had mentioned. ’Could that be a place where the Zombie Clansmen live?’

’If it is, could Yvonne Lynch be there too?’

’So what exactly is this Dungeon?’

’None of this has anything to do with me right now. I just need to survive for three days and get back.’

’I’ll have to call Yvonne Lynch and ask what city she’s in. Even if she’s not in New City, she’d definitely know about it if it’s really a place where the Zombie Clan lives.’

Mrs. Sheldon opened the wardrobe and rummaged through it, changing into a dark red cheongsam. Then, she walked out, her heels CLACK-CLACK-CLACKING on the floor, and slammed the door shut with a BANG.

Faye Yardley didn’t move, remaining perfectly still. ’I feel like I could fall asleep right here.’

BANG. The door flew open again. Mrs. Sheldon peered inside. "Don’t let me catch the little mouse scurrying around here. Hmph."

With that, the door was closed once more, followed by the sound of footsteps receding into the distance.

Faye Yardley remained motionless. She felt her mind growing groggy.

She quickly held her breath. ’Don’t tell me Mrs. Sheldon actually sprayed some kind of air freshener just now.’

Now it was Faye Yardley’s turn to think, ’This is so irritating.’

She took a Clear Heart Pill made by the Master from her backpack and popped it into her mouth. A cooling sensation spread from her throat down to her stomach, and her mind cleared considerably.

She began to move slowly, pressing her hands and feet against the ceiling as she made her way toward the window.

She looked just like a spider crawling across the ceiling.

The instant she opened the window and a breeze blew in, the door was thrown open as well.

Without a second thought, Faye Yardley leaped out the window.

"Don’t run, little mouse!"

In a series of nimble leaps, Faye Yardley landed on the street below. Before anyone could react, she had already changed directions several times, vanishing into a side alley.

Perhaps because she carried the faint scent of a zombie, the other Evolved Zombies didn’t attack her on sight as she walked among them, her eyes hidden behind sunglasses.

And one shouldn’t assume that Evolved Zombies were slow or clumsy. On the contrary, they were generally far more agile than ordinary humans.

After winding her way through the streets, Faye Yardley looped back to Mrs. Sheldon’s house.

The streets were lined with shops, but they were all shuttered. There was nothing to see.

Mrs. Sheldon’s house wasn’t far from the hospital; its side entrance was just across a small alley.

She had no intention of storming a zombie stronghold on her own. The lab was almost certainly inside that hospital, and going in alone without a plan would only draw suspicion.

Returning to Mrs. Sheldon’s storage room, she found Caleb Colby waiting inside.

"You’re back. How are things outside?"

Faye Yardley didn’t answer. Instead, she looked at him and asked quietly, "You’ve been here this whole time? You haven’t been out?"

"Heh heh, I stepped out for a bit. I was back in less than an hour."

"Is that right? Give me a Physical Potion."

Caleb Colby froze for a second. "I don’t have any on me."

"Oh." The instant Faye Yardley drew near, Light Wound appeared in her hand. With a single strike, she beheaded him. Heedless of whether it would soil her backpack’s contents, she stored the corpse away.

Seeing a single drop of blackish-brown blood on the floor, Faye Yardley quickly took out a torch and seared it dry.

After putting the torch away, Faye Yardley’s expression was grim.

’Who on earth is Amy?’

Just as she was pondering this, the storage room door opened cautiously. A figure slipped in quickly and carefully shut the door behind them.

The figure tiptoed inside, and their eyes lit up upon seeing Faye Yardley. "Yardley, you’re back!"
