Chapter 1269: Chapter 1269: The Embrace She’s Grown Used To

It had been several months since Watt Bennet last saw Summer Sutton, and when he was with her, Watt didn’t want to be disturbed by anyone or anything.

Holding her slender body in his arms, Watt step by step moved towards the bed.

Summer Sutton showed no sign of waking up, nestled in his arms, sleeping soundly.

Perhaps finding his embrace somewhat familiar, as she slept, she snuggled her head further into his arms.

Her movement was incredibly endearing, like a little rabbit on a cold winter night, soaking up warmth, exceedingly reliant on Watt.

After her movement, Watt hesitated for a moment, then stopped in his tracks.

He lowered his eyes, quietly staring at her.

Summer Sutton continued burrowing into his embrace; in sleep, all barriers between them vanished, her arms naturally encircling his waist, the scene no different from when they were together.

Her dependence on Watt was a habit cultivated over the more than three years since they had met.

Even now, asleep, just being in his embrace, feeling its warmth, she instinctively leaned closer.

Her actions were as natural as countless times before, shrinking into his arms during winter.

Watt’s eyes closed lightly, Summer Sutton’s small gesture now didn’t bring him comfort, his heart instead felt incredibly heavy.

That he and she would reach this point today, Watt had never anticipated.

Summer Sutton was evidently so reliant on him!

Without him by her side, for such a long time, living alone abroad must have been so difficult for her, right?

But even so, she still wasn’t willing to return to his side...

Watt didn’t actually blame her for her choice this time.

She had no other demands regarding marriage, only that the two were exclusively each other’s, a request so simple.

This situation, essentially boiled down to Watt’s inability to prove himself.

She had waited for him for so long...

Thinking about it, Watt’s heart ached indescribably.

Once asleep, Summer Sutton seemed to forget about these real-life issues, sleeping comfortably in Watt’s embrace.

When she felt cold, her little hands would even slip inside Watt’s clothing, borrowing his body warmth.

Watt carried her to the bed; after placing her down, he tried to separate her arms from himself. Summer, probably finding the embrace comfortable, wrapped her arms back around his waist as soon as Watt removed them.

Watt tried again, but she entwined him again.

After several attempts, her actions left Watt a bit exasperated yet amused.

Awake, she was so stubborn, but asleep, she was as obstinate as a child.

Resigned to his impulses, Watt lay down beside her.

As soon as his body hit the bed, Summer Sutton naturally snuggled over.

Her arms rewrapped around him, choosing a sleep position she found comfortable, and Summer Sutton continued her sleep.

They hadn’t seen each other for so long, now she was lying next to him, and Watt couldn’t sleep.

She probably wouldn’t imagine during their days apart he spent every night thinking about her, so much that he couldn’t sleep well at all.

Wondering what she was doing, if she was struggling alone abroad, wondering if she was thinking of him too, if there was still any possibility between them.

Regarding Lorraine Hughes this time, unless Lorraine changed her statement, it would be impossible to find evidence.

The events happening within the Hughes Family, Watt couldn’t access Hughes Family surveillance and there would be no surveillance installed in the rooms anyway.
