Chapter 1281: Chapter 1281: The Living Room Works Too
In the past, on the night when Summer Sutton was filming on the mountain, she casually mentioned she liked the night there, and Watt Bennet immediately said he would buy a villa on the mountain.
He was always like this; as long as it was something Summer Sutton said, whether it meant anything or not, he would make it happen for her.
Summer Sutton sat alone on the terrace, staring at the night sky above. That night, she thought of many things from their past.
In fact, up until now, she still didn’t think Adrian Walyon had done anything wrong.
Whether he was Adrian Walyon or now Watt Bennet, he had never changed towards her.
It’s just that the barrier with Lorraine Hughes was something she could never get over.
She couldn’t pretend it never happened unless Watt Bennet could tell her one day that what happened that night was a misunderstanding, and that he and Lorraine Hughes never did anything.
It was already late, and she continued sitting on the terrace for nearly half an hour.
Watt Bennet came out to find her, glanced at her by the flower wall, and seeing her lost in thought, he guessed what she might be thinking about.
After staring at her for a while, and thinking it was quite late, he gently reminded her, "Come inside, it’s too cold outside."
This time of year was winter, and winter nights were naturally cold, with the temperature at the mountain summit a few degrees lower than in the city. Sitting outside was pure torture for Summer Sutton.
His words brought her back to reality, and after looking at him, she followed him back into the house.
Once inside, knowing that Summer Sutton had long seen through him, Watt Bennet was too lazy to pretend, and leisurely went upstairs to take a shower.
When he came out, Summer Sutton was sitting in the living room, not having moved an inch.
"Are you planning to sleep in the living room tonight?" Watt Bennet asked her from the stairs, his gaze lightly drifting towards her.
"Mhm, I’ll sleep here," Summer Sutton replied.
Watt Bennet said nothing but did something that surprised Summer Sutton.
He carried two quilts from the room downstairs, placed one on the sofa where she was, and tossed another onto the sofa next to her. He then stretched his long legs, lying down next to her.
Summer Sutton wanted to sleep on the sofa, so he didn’t force her; instead, he accompanied her.
The two sofas in the living room were placed in an L-shape, and the spot where Watt Bennet rested his head was right next to Summer Sutton.
If Summer Sutton lay down, their heads would be next to each other.
If she lay on the other end of the sofa, with her feet facing him, it seemed a bit strange.
In any case, once he lay down, no matter how Summer Sutton lay, it felt awkward.
Watt Bennet appeared as if nothing was amiss, his long legs lazily crossed, his face turned to look at her still sitting, "Not sleeping yet, even though it’s so late?"
"Go back to your room!" Summer Sutton ordered him.
"I don’t want to," Watt Bennet replied plainly with two words.
When he didn’t want to do something, no one could stop him.
Summer Sutton had no choice but to lie down on the sofa.
Closing her eyes, she acted as if Watt Bennet didn’t exist, lying down intending to sleep as if alone.
However, the man beside her didn’t let her have her way.
Watt Bennet was watching her, his gaze deep and penetrating like a torch in the night, resting on her face for a long time.
Summer Sutton felt his gaze, her eyelashes trembling slightly, unable to truly sleep, but she could only continue to pretend.
The night on the mountain was unusually quiet.
With only two people in the villa, it was so quiet that even the sound of falling twigs could be heard.
