Chapter 1283: Chapter 1283: Need Me to Warm You Up?

"What do you mean by that?" Watt asked, following her words.

"Nothing but work," Summer Sutton replied dismissively.

"Is that so? Nothing but work?" Watt asked, testing the waters.

His gaze on her was bright, as if expecting something.

He wanted to know if, during the time she was abroad, she thought about him just as he did about her.

Summer actually guessed the meaning behind his words but didn’t give him the answer he wanted.

"Nothing," she replied lightly with two words, closing her eyes.

"I see," Watt said, his tone seemingly a bit disappointed.

Summer ignored him, continuing to sleep with her eyes closed.

Just as she was falling asleep, Watt suddenly asked out of the blue, "Summer, tell me, is any part of the reason you came back because of me?"

He just wanted to know this; it was important to him. If even a small part was because of him, then his days of waiting weren’t in vain.

The room was silent, and Summer didn’t respond to his question.

Watt actually suspected she wasn’t asleep at all, and her silence made him sigh deeply.

Summer still ignored him, keeping her eyes closed to continue sleeping.

It was her first time at Watt’s place, and besides the unfamiliar environment, just lying next to him made it hard for Summer to sleep.

Moreover, with the cold winter night, it seemed he either forgot or something—the heating in the villa wasn’t on. Because of its size, with windows open, the living room felt even colder.

Summer curled up, already not very sleepy, the wind woke her up completely.

Shivering several times, in the darkness, she pulled the sheet tighter around her.

Trying to force herself to sleep, the more she tried, the more awake she became.

After tossing and turning on the couch, she was fully awake.

The man beside her noticed her movements. Stretching out his long arm, he suddenly pulled her into his arms.

The couch Watt was sleeping on was narrower than the one Summer lay on; with both of them on it, they had to stick together to avoid falling off.

Summer instinctively wanted to push Watt away, but as she shrank back, she almost fell. She instantly froze, not moving.

Watt tightened his hold, hugging her closely.

Above her head, his voice was particularly deep, "Cold?"

The answer to this question was obvious.

Before Summer could answer, his voice sounded again, "How about we do some exercise? I’ll warm you up."

Such a wicked suggestion, yet he spoke so seriously.

"No need!" Summer gave him a push, trying to withdraw from his embrace, but she’d forgotten how narrow the couch was, and as she moved back, she fell toward the floor.

As she fell, she didn’t think much, just instinctively reached for Watt for help. But whether intentionally or not, when Summer pulled on him, his body followed hers, crashing down onto the floor.

Watt’s body ended up right on top of Summer.

They were in an overlapped position.

At his 6’2" height, his strength could overpower two Summers. Summer never thought he’d be so easy to pull down.

He must have been deliberately accommodating her, right?

With ulterior motives!

At this thought, Summer’s body stiffened a bit more.
