Chapter 1369: Chapter 1469: Hold Tight to This Big Tree

Summer Sutton turned around and found Adrian Walyon smiling.

Summer felt that his current expression was very much like someone playing with a monkey, but she couldn’t understand why she had such a thought.

"You’re back!" she greeted him and continued preparing dinner, "Dinner will be ready soon."

After being busy in the kitchen for a while longer, she came out and the two of them sat at the long dining table. Summer eagerly started talking to Watt Bennet about her job interview from today, "By the way, I passed the interview today. I really need to thank you for this. You wouldn’t believe it, after I arrived at the company, the interviewer just glanced at my name and let me through; it was amazing."

As she spoke, she couldn’t help but sigh, "In society, it’s really good to have connections!"

"Isn’t it?" Watt gave her a sidelong glance and replied casually, "So, you must hold tight to this big tree, got it?"

He said this without a hint of shame, leaving Summer speechless, but what he said was true.

He is indeed like a big tree, someone she could turn to for help anytime and who could shield her from storms.

"Got it, now hurry up and eat!" She put some food on his plate, urging him.

Watt curled his lips slightly and continued dining elegantly.

In their two-person household, the ones always dining at the table were him, Summer, and Unity.

The Ragdoll cat itself is a quiet breed, mostly staying calm and quiet in her little princess mode, making the home feel inevitably serene.

As Watt was having his dinner, he suddenly asked, "By the way, do you have any plans for the near future?"

Summer thought he was referring to work and replied casually, "Work hard and strive to understand the company thoroughly in the shortest possible time, so that I can manage it well when it comes under my control."

Her plans always seemed to revolve around work, while other matters were not in her consideration.

Watt remained silent for a while after her words and then suddenly looked at her seriously, "How about we consider having a child?"

His words came without any warning, and Summer was obviously not expecting him to bring this up at this moment, suddenly freezing in place.

"It’s something we should consider; we’ve been married for quite a while." Watt did not think there was anything wrong with his plan.

"But I just joined my dad’s company. Aren’t there many contract disputes now about female employees getting pregnant within months of joining and then being dismissed by the company?" Summer didn’t know why her thoughts went so far at this moment.

Watt was seriously taken aback by her severe concerns and felt her words were nonsense.

Getting dismissed from her father’s company because of pregnancy?

Would Adrian’s wife need to concern herself with unemployment?

Should he feel sad that his woman considered work over having a child?

Even Summer realized that her thoughts were a bit absurd, feeling slightly embarrassed, she added some food to his plate and comforted him, "For the child, let’s go with the flow, okay?"

She wasn’t deliberately avoiding the topic, and having a child isn’t something that happens just because you plan it.

Watt understood what was on her mind and didn’t dwell on the matter.

After finishing dinner, he went upstairs.

Summer stayed downstairs dealing with work matters.
