Chapter 1399: Chapter 1499: A Familiar Figure
As Summer Sutton’s gaze swept over, the person just happened to turn the corner, seemingly heading towards the elevator.
There was some distance between Summer Sutton and that person, making it hard to see clearly.
However, the person’s overwhelmingly strong aura and distinctive vibe made her almost certain that this was the person she had been waiting for all month long.
It just so happened to be after work hours, so without any further thought, Summer Sutton tossed the documents onto her desk, without even organizing them, and dashed towards the elevator.
She wanted to rush over to see if that person was still there, and maybe pretend to have a coincidental encounter, sharing the same elevator.
But, as she ran to the elevator entrance, the elevator doors were closing.
She was late by a few seconds.
Summer Sutton’s gaze swept to the neighboring elevator, swiftly pressing the down button.
The other elevator was two floors above her at the time, so Summer Sutton didn’t have to wait long for it to arrive.
If that person had also gone down, their descent time wouldn’t differ much.
The elevator Summer Sutton was in paused briefly midway, allowing others to enter.
Standing near the elevator door, she checked the time on her phone, patiently waiting.
Upon reaching the first floor, she glanced around but didn’t see the figure she had just seen, so she ran outside the company building.
Subtracting the elevator time, Summer Sutton had been running the entire way, believing she could catch up with that person.
However, reaching the company plaza, she didn’t see anyone there.
With a puzzled frown, Summer Sutton turned toward a certain intersection next to the plaza.
She headed in the direction that cars leaving the parking lot would pass through, thinking that if that person hadn’t left yet, she would certainly see their car pass by at this inevitable spot.
Summer Sutton waited by the roadside, and after about two minutes, a Lamborghini appeared before her.
The driver sped by so quickly that Summer Sutton couldn’t make out their face at all.
Her gaze, stiffened by the direction the car went, only caught the color of the person’s clothing—a silver-white suit.
As for the face, it was so blurry it couldn’t be anymore indistinct, yet Summer Sutton still felt a sense of familiarity.
Silver-white suit...
Watt Bennet also had one.
The Lamborghini had already disappeared into the distance, and Summer Sutton didn’t know which direction it headed.
With that person gone, there was no point in waiting any longer, so she called Watt Bennet and decided to wait by the roadside for him to pick her up.
Watt Bennet happened to be nearby today and appeared before her very quickly, arriving in just fifteen minutes.
The car he drove was the heavy-duty SUV he often used.
As the car door opened, he stepped out dressed in a semi-casual suit.
Summer Sutton’s gaze was frozen on his clothes, staring blankly as if deep in thought, her eyes fixed without shifting.
"What’s wrong?" Watt Bennet frowned, asking suspiciously.
Summer Sutton didn’t speak, continuing to stare at him.
She seemed to be discerning something, looking at him and then at his car again.
This behavior made Watt Bennet find her more and more peculiar.
"I said, what’s wrong?" He asked again, eyebrows furrowed.
Summer Sutton raised her face, her gaze steadfast on his face, watching him intently for a while before speaking slowly, "I think I just ran into the current head of the Sutton Clan Group."
