Chapter 1406: Chapter 1506: Three Heavy Words

She didn’t expect her work at this company to go so smoothly. With the assistant’s help, she found it much easier to learn any news about the President.

Thinking of this, Summer Sutton couldn’t help but smile.

All day, the smile on her face never faded; anyone looking at her might even think she had struck gold.

When the day’s work concluded, it was already five in the afternoon.

It was lightly snowing outside today, and Summer Sutton had made arrangements with Watt Bennet in the morning for him to pick her up after work.

Without calling a cab herself, Summer Sutton sat at her desk, sent a message to Watt saying she had finished work, and waited in the office for his car to arrive.

Her desk happened to be by the window, offering a great view of the scenery outside.

In the snowy weather, snowflakes floated past her line of sight, occasionally landing on the glass beside her, making everything appear so clear.

Summer Sutton, bored, lifted her fingertips to gently draw the trajectory of the drifting snowflakes.

After her message was sent, Watt didn’t reply.

Summer Sutton wasn’t worried; she knew he would definitely come to pick her up on time.

Watt finished work at five-thirty, and at most he’d be there by six. Summer Sutton patiently continued to wait in the office.

At exactly six o’clock, estimating that Watt’s car should have arrived, Summer Sutton stepped out of the Sutton Clan Building and waited by the roadside.

Today’s weather was unusually cold; despite wearing a warm wool sweater and draping a coat over it, Summer Sutton still felt cold enough to shiver.

After standing by the road for roughly a few minutes, Watt’s car hadn’t arrived, but a black Rolls-Royce stopped in front of her.

Old Master Walyon’s vehicle was also a Rolls-Royce, and Summer Sutton didn’t notice the license plate, assuming it was a car from the Walyon Family.

But when the car door opened, the person who stepped out left her stunned.

Manuel Ink!

Since the last wedding, when she had been whisked away by Watt, she hadn’t seen him.

Leaving Royal Delight Group and coming to work at Sutton Clan Group, she hadn’t even greeted him, nor had she handled any transitions from her work at Royal Delight.

Summer Sutton had been able to enter such a big company like Royal Delight, and progress smoothly all because Manuel Ink had been silently watching over her from behind.

Yet now, she had left just like that, without saying a word to him.

Seeing Manuel Ink’s face, guilt instantly filled Summer Sutton’s chest.

"Manuel, I’m sorry..." hanging her head low, Summer Sutton felt she wasn’t worthy of seeing him.

Manuel Ink merely looked at her quietly without criticizing her actions, instead saying lightly, "It’s cold outside, get in the car first."

Summer Sutton owed him too much. She should give him an explanation.

After hesitating slightly, she bent down and got into his car.

Manuel Ink gave the driver a look, and the driver drove away from the Sutton Clan Building.

Summer Sutton knew Watt would be arriving soon, worrying he might be anxious not finding her there, she sent him a message.

To avoid misunderstandings, instead of directly saying she’d gotten into Manuel Ink’s car, she stated she had a sudden meeting with friends and wouldn’t be back soon.

The car continued to drive on the road and eventually stopped at a high-end restaurant.

After getting out of the car, Manuel Ink walked in first.

Summer Sutton looked at the restaurant’s name, pondered, and then followed him inside.
