Chapter 1425 -1525: Reunion (Part 1)

“Then I’ll wait for you all.” With a definite answer, Old Master Walyon let out a long sigh and hung up the phone.

After finishing the call with him, Summer Sutton tentatively dialed Watt Bennet.

“Grandpa just called, said he wanted you to join him and the others for dinner later. Mom and Dad will be there too. They… probably miss you a lot.” Summer Sutton spoke cautiously, gauging Watt Bennet’s reaction on the other end of the line.

She knew, given Watt Bennet’s personality, he had no plans to return for such a long time, and before he truly decided to return to the Walyon Family, it would be hard to persuade him to meet the Walyons.

Summer Sutton was just trying her luck; if Watt Bennet didn’t want to go, there would be no choice but to skip it.

But to her surprise, Watt Bennet only paused for a moment before simply replying with one word, “Okay.”

“Once Grandpa sends me the address later, I’ll pass it on to you!” Summer Sutton breathed a sigh of relief, hanging up the phone pleasantly.

…

The restaurant chosen by Old Master Walyon was on the outskirts of Northtown, near a picturesque lakeside.

On a winter night, the weather was cold, accompanied by occasional flurries of snow. In such weather, few people ventured out, and even fewer chose to dine by the lake.

The few who did come were attracted either by the serene environment or the restaurant’s ambiance.

As Summer Sutton arrived, Watt Bennet’s car pulled up as well.

“Honey!” Seeing his car, Summer Sutton happily walked over to him.

Watt Bennet glanced in her direction, noticing her thin dress in the chilly wind. He furrowed his brows, opened the car door, got out, and reached her side in a few steps, wrapping his jacket around her.

“Wearing so little, why didn’t you call me to pick you up?” He gently reproached her, wrapping his large hands around hers, rubbing them to warm her.

“It’s fine, I’m not cold. Seeing you makes me not feel cold at all.” Lately, Summer Sutton’s words seemed coated in honey, sweetening the tight line of Watt Bennet’s lips, unconsciously lifting them into a smile.

Though he wouldn’t admit he possessed any warming powers, he found her words pleasing to hear.

“Alright, let’s head inside. Grandpa is waiting in there.” Taking her hand, Watt Bennet led her into the restaurant.

Old Master reserved a private room at the end of the corridor, undisturbed by others.

Upon opening the door, there were Bryce Walyon, Diana Wood, and Old Master Walyon.

He hadn’t invited more people, only those closest to Adrian Walyon.

Seeing Watt Bennet walk in with Summer Sutton, Old Master Walyon seemed somewhat moved, his eyes suddenly welling up.

Through blurred vision, he gazed at him up and down for a while before speaking tremulously, “You came, you came, it’s so good, I’m glad you came.”

The repeated words conveyed his current contentment.

Diana Wood was also very moved; Watt Bennet coming probably meant he acknowledged his identity, right?

A surge of warmth filled her chest as she choked back tears and called out to him, “Adrian, you finally agreed to see us.”

Just calling him by that name, she couldn’t control herself, and tears started streaming down.

With no one else around, she couldn’t be bothered with her image, burying her face in Bryce Walyon’s embrace and sobbing aloud.

“Boohoo, you really are Adrian, my son! You’re still alive! Still alive! That’s so wonderful! So wonderful! Boohoo…”
