Seeking Martial Dao in All Reborn Lives
Chapter 541: Wansheng Sword Demon (Part 2)
A talisman blazing like the sun instantly unfurled, enveloping all three of them.
The Yang Seal!!
WHOOSH!!
A wave of scorching vitality and power swept over the three men, instantly burning away the residual corruption within their bodies, stabilizing their spirits and their injuries.
“Sir.”
After getting a clear look at the figure’s face, the middle-aged captain’s expression flickered. He immediately struggled to get to one knee.
“What just happened here?”
the Ten Thousand Laws Incarnation asked.
The middle-aged captain didn’t dare hold anything back and quickly recounted what he had just seen.
“Formed three talismans in an instant? Two people killed a squad of Yin Tower Believers and seized the Blood Food Power from their bodies?”
The Ten Thousand Laws Incarnation’s eyes narrowed slightly.
‘Once chaos breaks out in the city, all sorts of monsters crawl out of the woodwork. Still, those two didn’t kill the court’s hidden agent to silence him and hide their identities, so they aren’t completely standing against the court yet.’
“Heal as quickly as you can. Yin Tower Believers are popping up all over the city, and I need to go deal with them.”
With a single step, the Ten Thousand Laws Incarnation vanished, heading in the same direction Zhao Xuanqi and his companion had gone.
‘They don’t seem like enemies for now, but who knows what they’re plotting? While I’m reinforcing the others, it’d be best to keep an eye on those two if I can.’
‘South Mansion is growing more chaotic by the minute. Those guys must have more tricks up their sleeves. I wonder how my original body is faring.’
…
…
「Rewinding time, to just after the clash between Ten Thousand Laws Inference and Sword Gu outside South Mansion.」
“Have you found any trace of them?”
Ten Thousand Laws Inference waved his hand, and the swarming masses of Sword Gu and Formless’s fractal incarnations were instantly evaporated by a blazing light like that of the sun. Yet the tide of figures still scattering in every direction was an astronomical number, impossible to eliminate in a short time.
Furthermore, though these incarnations were fragile and possessed no real power, they were flawless on a sensory level. With the true bodies of Sword Gu and Formless mixed in, it was impossible to distinguish the real from the decoys.
“It’s impossible to distinguish them. This is a Technique they prepared for this very purpose. They’re likely planning to use the chaos to attack the Nine Altars, or simply to stall for time. There’s chaos in the city; we can’t let them lead us by the nose. If there’s no movement in ten breaths, we’ll turn back and eliminate the source of the unrest in the city with all possible speed.”
Jin Ce said, his expression grim.
“In that case, the pressure will be on the great Magic Altars. If they are attacked, they will have to hold out on their own for a time,” said Ten Thousand Laws Inference.
“It shouldn’t be a problem. The great Magic Altars have all been reinforced. Combined with the Arrays, they should allow the one in charge to unleash power far beyond their own. They’ll be able to hold out for a while,” Jin Ce said.
「Meanwhile, at one of the Nine Great Altars.」
Upon a giant Magic Altar sixty-four meters across and made of some kind of jade, the Power of the Stars was drawn down from the heavens. Starlight flowed between its intricate runes.
Sixteen Martial Artists in assorted attire sat cross-legged around the Magic Altar, each positioned on a runic node.
Among these sixteen were three people Zhao Xuanqi would have recognized. They wore the simple robes of the Red Heart Sect—the three Stewards invited to South Mansion.
The remaining thirteen were all masters of the Sensing Realm under the court’s command—and not just any masters, but experts at the very peak of the Sensing Realm.
In the center of the Magic Altar stood a large palace lantern, its bright yellow light connected to the city’s Power of Incense. Beneath it sat a cross-legged, middle-aged man with a handlebar mustache. He was none other than Qiu Qing, an Elder of the Red Heart Sect and an Innate Martial Artist.
The group’s expressions were grim. Their position was not far from where Sword Gu’s Sword Qi had clashed with the Ten Thousand Laws Inference True Body Dharma Aspect. The terrifying might and fluctuations from that collision had left every one of them shaken.
‘The enemy’s strength seems to be beyond anything we imagined.’
Qiu Qing narrowed his eyes, looking up at the bright yellow flame within the palace lantern. It was wavering. He knew what this meant: chaos had broken out in the city, causing the Power of Human Dao Incense to falter.
“Everyone, be ready. The disturbance isn’t far from us. Our Magic Altar will likely be the next tar—”
Qiu Qing’s deep voice warned the others, but he cut himself off, his voice freezing. His gaze locked onto a spot in the darkness.
It wasn’t just him. Everyone else on the Magic Altar jolted, their bodies instantly going rigid.
Two figures in black cloaks were emerging from the darkness.
The one in the lead held a greatsword. It was not forged from steel, but appeared to be condensed from twisted blood and bone, radiating a terrifying and savage aura.
This, it seemed, was the expert who had unleashed that terrifying sword strike moments ago.
“Activate the Array!!”
Qiu Qing roared, leaping to his feet and forming a Seal Technique. The others reacted at once, bursting with the light of Primordial Qi as they fused with the Grand Array through the nodes, fully activating the Magic Altar’s Grand Array.
Starlight descended upon Qiu Qing, the master of the Array, as a stream of the Power of Human Dao Incense flowed into him from the palace lantern’s burning yellow flame.
BOOM!!
A terrifying wave of Primordial Qi erupted from Qiu Qing’s body, forming a tide of golden flames that surged hundreds of meters into the sky.
Even Zhao Xuanqi’s Golden Fire would have seemed insignificant compared to the power Qiu Qing was now unleashing.
