Chapter 879: Only What You Eat Counts
Baiyi looked at the jade box from which a purple hue emanated, and his heart pounded fiercely.
As he reached out to receive it, his heart pounded fiercely once again.
[Acquired Large Soul Crystal Core ×24.]
It wasn’t that Baiyi was being ungrateful; rather, Carl had given far too many.
Typical soul veins might yield at most one Small Soul Crystal Core.
Intermediate veins would at best produce one intermediate-sized core.
And this is probabilistic—out of a hundred soul veins, it’s highly likely that all would consist of Soul Essences, with no Soul Crystal Cores.
Often, when a God creates a world and accelerates its time flow, even upon its destruction, few Soul Crystal Cores are obtained, let alone Large ones.
Even when Diane collaborated with a God, their yield of Large Soul Crystal Cores didn’t exceed double digits each time.
This underscores the immense value of these twenty-four Large Soul Crystal Cores, and Baiyi can maximize their value. Even if the mission fails, he wouldn’t feel any regret.
His gaze toward Carl softened and became incredibly amicable; the more Baiyi looked at him, the more agreeable he seemed.
Thinking of something, Baiyi reached out to take a Soul Crystal Core, examined it briefly, then directly tossed it into his mouth and chewed.
[You consumed Large Soul Crystal Core ×1, Soul slightly strengthened, Holy Spirit +2.]
Feeling the strengthening of his Soul, Baiyi’s previously tense heart slowly settled.
Here in the dream realm, Baiyi had thought these resources were merely for show, but to his surprise, they turned out to be real.
Boom~
A peal of thunder erupted in the sky.
Baiyi ignored it and placed the Soul Crystal Cores into the Demon Realm; these items couldn’t be left in the Space Ring, lest the hand be sliced off during battle, leading to great loss.
Looking at Carl, Baiyi, now in a gentle tone, asked, “What if the Alliance folks show up?”
Carl’s mouth twitched; he felt his brother was becoming increasingly inscrutable to him, but given his brother’s formidable strength, in this era, the only one he could trust… was this brother.
Greed is an original sin, but also a very controllable point.
After all, across All Heavens and Myriad Realms, he didn’t believe any faction could supply him with so many Soul Crystal Cores and advanced resources year in and year out…
“Just kill them.”
Carl waved his hand, seemingly somewhat reluctant to see this troublesome fellow.
Baiyi stood up and walked out with light steps.
Meanwhile, he began to ponder.
[Things are reaching a climax.]
[Lead personally.]
[Just kill them…]
It seems an expedition is underway; yet how could a Tier Eight World disregard the threat of a Transcendent World…
Indeed, this reeks of conspiracy, and a rather significant one at that.
However, such a wartime situation shouldn’t affect a Saint.
A Saint only descends to intervene when a Transcendent World approaches surpassing its limits.
But this is Ulrich’s dream realm, where the Soul Crystal Cores are real, implying the core probabilities are infinitely amplified.
This means… the aim is perhaps targeted at Ulrich… or the Saints…
The information remains scant; Baiyi can’t deduce anything further.
What Baiyi knows, though, is that by following Carl’s plan, there’s a high chance of soon encountering Ulrich.
But….
Baiyi glanced at the Large Soul Crystal Cores in the Demon Realm.
The plan needs altering; since even the Soul Crystal Cores are real here, what about the other high-tier resources?
The national vault is temporarily untouchable, but the treasure vaults of local forces may not be….
Spatial fluctuations flashed around Baiyi as he returned to the Quartermaster’s location.
And the affairs concerning Zero Check were beginning to take shape.
Information about Baiyi’s position might not be available online, but if one were to hack into the army corps’ network…
Before the Quartermaster could react, Baiyi strode forth.
Upon reappearing, he found himself in front of a palace.
[Judgement Hall]
This palace was no less impressive than the Royal City earlier, with every strong figure, similarly uniformed to Baiyi, gazing at him with reverence, their eyes even exuding a hint of fanaticism.
“King!”
These are the Law Enforcers under the Judgement Envoy, and according to the current information, are Baiyi’s private troops, ranging from Golden Upper Tier to Peak Legendary, totaling nearly four hundred members.
More powerful even than the Holy Descendants of Dawn under Baiyi.
Yet in this peak era of colliding worlds, Legend is but a backbone force; of course, placed in the infinitely vast Sea of Realms, in the core areas, Legendaries appear cheap.
Each could dominate a vast portion of the Sea of Realms, belonging to the top-tier talents.
Baiyi studied the data; in the Judgement Hall records, Baiyi had two deputies, referred to as Deputy Judgement Envoys, the strongest forces under Baiyi, both Tier Ten Legendaries.
“Have Mifengna and Drew come over.”
“Yes, King!”
Baiyi entered the main hall and took a seat on the central throne inside.
Though not as comfortable as the Mechanical Throne, the style of this throne was identical to Charlemagne’s throne.
The original form possessed some ambition.
About a minute after the command was issued, a man and a woman of the human race appeared at the hall entrance, stepping quickly inside, eyes forward.
“King!” ×2.
These two: the male had golden hair and blue eyes, while the female had white hair and black eyes.
The male carried a frenetic aura, a member of the Close Combat Series, at the pinnacle of Berserkers.
The female exuded a frosty aura, mingled with frenzy power.
Baiyi was somewhat surprised; in a world dominated by Wizards, this Mage-Wizard hybrid was quite conspicuous.
However, one could discern her strength; her naturally emitted aura made even Baiyi unable to easily kill them.
In other words, once a Legend reaches Tier Ten, they possess the potential to challenge the Taboo, akin to the Old Sword Saint’s stroke.
Exhibiting immense Talent, all they lack is an opportunity.
Such existences, when fighting desperately, unless stronger forces unleash their ultimate moves, would only warrant avoidance.
“Prepare yourselves; this time, you two are the vanguards. I will accompany you.”
Baiyi calmly stated.
The pair beneath the throne looked surprised, but soon excitedly lowered their heads again: “Yes!”
“You may leave.”
Baiyi waved his hand, and once the two departed, he finally exhaled a genuine sigh of relief.
Indeed.
These two are Carl’s people…
Or rather, everyone here is probably Carl’s.
Prince Ji’an’s display portrayed him as a high-battle-force yet greedy, brainless figure, granting Baiyi abundant room for action.
Given that these people are aware of Carl’s plans, things become more manageable; just follow along.
Baiyi glanced around, raised his hand, and exploded the aura of the Divine Abomination, instantly sealing the room.
Baiyi took out the remaining twenty-three Large Soul Crystal Cores, with Worker Bees commencing to assemble the workbench.
These Soul Crystal Cores should be used quickly; in hand, Baiyi felt somewhat uneasy.
After all, Baiyi clearly understands the nature of Saints.
At the very least, most Saints, in the elder Saints’ ideological baptism, are not well regarded by the average person.
The capability to destroy worlds, then pillaging treasures before destruction isn’t excessive, right?
If they’ve already pillaged them, then as I’m preparing to destroy a world, its treasures are already mine, isn’t unreasonable, right?
If that’s not unreasonable, then everything I fancy is mine, isn’t that rational?
In Baiyi’s current understanding, Saints are just that kind of entity.
Possessing a world-saving heart, but at each era’s end, not one world holds Saints in high regard.
In this world-enemy scenario alongside elder Saints’ indoctrination…
If someone were to take a Soul Essence from Baiyi’s dream realm, he’d consider himself weak.
Only what’s consumed is secure.
Baiyi’s eyes turned starkly black and white, gradually focusing.
This resource comprises entirely of Large Soul Crystal Cores; this potion must not fail.
