Chapter 2114: Black Star Eight City

Gu Zhiqi shook her head, "I don’t know, you guys will have to figure it out slowly yourselves."

She wasn’t some encyclopedia, there were at least thousands of species of flora and fauna in Nine Stars City. She had only stayed here for a few years, so how could she remember them all?

After exiting the train station, there was a bustling street.

The street was crowded with people, many carrying lanterns, and stalls lined the sides mainly selling lanterns.

Gu Zhiqi walked up to a stall, waved at Tang Yichen and the others, "Come over, pick one for yourselves."

Upon hearing her, the group immediately walked over and began selecting their favorite designs.

Tang Yichen stood beside Gu Zhiqi, picking out lanterns while chatting to her, "Is there a lantern festival here? Why are there so many lanterns for sale?"

Moreover, almost everyone had a lantern in hand.

"These lanterns are sold every day." Gu Zhiqi casually picked one and continued answering Tang Yichen’s question, "It’s dimly lit in Black Star, inevitably leaving some places where light can’t reach; people buy these lanterns for illumination."

Tang Yichen understood, "Ah, I see."

After picking out a lantern, seeing that the group had almost finished selecting, Gu Zhiqi paid and reminded Tang Yichen and the others, "Remember to pay for yourselves."

The group paused briefly and each pulled out their phones to scan and pay.

Once everyone had bought their lanterns, Gu Zhiqi led them forward again.

The street wasn’t long, probably only about one or two hundred meters, and as they reached the end, the crowd began to thin out.

Gradually, it became sparser.

Since everyone had a lantern in hand, the area was brightly lit while on the street.

Now that the crowd thinned, the surroundings started to grow darker.

Though there were street lamps at intervals, some spots indeed remained unilluminated.

Tang Yichen glanced around, then at the lantern in his hand, and slowly drifted away from the group.

Eventually, he fell behind by over ten meters.

Standing still staring at the lantern for a few seconds, he then looked around, and suddenly dashed over to Gu Zhiqi’s side, saying, "I’ve discovered this lantern lights up quite a large area."

Gu Zhiqi: "When we leave Black Star you can put the lantern away for next time; it not only lights up far but is durable."

"Really?" Tang Yichen murmured softly, and continued, "Then I definitely need to keep this lantern."

"Even if we never return to Black Star, keeping it will make a great souvenir." With that thought, Tang Yichen continued enthusiastically, "Later, let’s buy a few more to send to Brother Jin and Second Brother."

Having said that, Tang Yichen suddenly felt somewhat despondent, "We’ve only been in Nine Stars City for a few days and I’m already starting to miss them."

"It feels like we’ve been in Nine Stars City for ages, yet I just calculated, and we’ve been here less than two weeks."

Upon hearing Tang Yichen mention Fu Xiyan, Gu Xiyue, who had remained silent, paused slightly in her steps, looking down at the lantern in her hand.

Has it really only been two weeks since we last saw each other?

Due to Tang Yichen’s words, everyone except Gu Zhiqi felt a bit down.

It’s the first time everyone had ventured so far from home, and in a place cut off from the outside world, practically Another World; not wanting to miss family members was impossible.

Initially, each was homesick independently, but now, thanks to Tang Yichen, it turned into collective homesickness.

Gu Zhiqi also dearly missed the Gu Family, but as she frequently traveled, she didn’t feel quite the same.
