Chapter 175: Chapter 173: I’ll Believe Whatever You Say
In this Beast World, women had no spiritual power. Their rarity made them seem precious, but they were still viewed as beings who existed only to bear children for men.
Their strength was nothing compared to that of men.
Of course, she still didn’t know the true extent of this power or how terrifying it could be.
But this power had instantly healed her broken spine the moment it broke its seal, even sharpening her hearing, vision, and sense of smell.
This proved that the Vitality Power was vastly more useful than when it had been sealed inside her, where its only function was to help her practice medicine and store things!
She had always wondered why she possessed the Spiritual Spring Space and its Vitality Water.
Now, she finally understood. It was because she had Vitality Power within her.
The Vitality Power had birthed the Spiritual Spring Space within her soul.
’This time, the Vitality Power has fused with me completely. I’ll have to slowly test just how formidable this power really is.’
Huang Ziyue followed Shen Yue’s aura all the way to a cliff’s edge.
He could clearly sense her aura was here, yet he couldn’t find its source.
Then, he felt a terrifying pressure emanating from the bottom of the cliff.
A jolt went through him.
And mixed within that pressure, surprisingly, was a trace of Shen Yue’s aura.
Without a second thought, he leaped off the edge.
The cliff wasn’t particularly high, and he soon reached the bottom.
Following the aura, Huang Ziyue circled the base of the mountain until he finally found what looked like a perfectly smooth stone door set into the cliff face.
And Shen Yue’s aura was emanating from within.
He was certain she was inside.
He raised a hand, searching the cliff face for a way to get in.
But no matter how carefully he inspected it, he found no mechanism or switch.
Impatient, he struck the cliff face fiercely with his palm.
BANG!
His powerful spiritual power slammed into the rock, producing a deafening crash.
Even the ground beneath his feet trembled from the impact.
Yet after the blow, the cliff face remained unchanged, completely intact.
He had no choice but to strike again.
After several more strikes, a crack finally appeared in the rock.
He was about to leap through it.
But then—BOOM!!
The cliff face before him suddenly exploded outward, as if blasted by some force from within.
A powerful force and an immense pressure spread out the instant the cliff wall collapsed.
He instantly leaped into the air, dodging the hail of falling rocks.
A cloud of dust billowed like thick smoke, obscuring his vision.
He landed on high ground, eyes narrowed as he vigilantly watched the figure emerging from the dust below.
The power and pressure were incredibly strong.
It didn’t feel like spiritual power; it was more like an ancient, mysterious energy.
It put one on edge unconsciously.
’If this person captured Shen Yue and brought her here, I have to find the right moment to kill them in a single strike.’
Just as he gathered his spiritual power, his gaze fixed on the indistinct figure below, preparing to strike...
At that moment, the person emerging from the dust came into full view.
When he saw the person’s face clearly, his own, usually expressionless, face registered a brief moment of shock.
His eyes widened. "Shen Yue."
The power radiating from him instantly vanished, and he flew down to her.
Shen Yue was also taken aback to see Huang Ziyue standing before her.
’I didn’t expect him to actually find me.’
Her memories had returned, and she remembered the schemes plotted against them, as well as the moments of intimacy they had shared in Beastification City.
It made her feel a little awkward meeting Huang Ziyue’s gaze.
She cleared her throat, looking at Huang Ziyue’s slightly surprised face.
"I’m fine."
Huang Ziyue looked at her, feeling that something about her had changed.
It wasn’t just that her aura now exuded a pressure she never had before.
Her entire demeanor seemed different as well.
And even though it had only been two days, he felt she had somehow grown even more beautiful.
Moreover, he could sense that the way Shen Yue looked at him was different than before.
He opened his mouth, his exquisitely handsome, almost wicked face looking uncharacteristically blank.
"How did you get out?"
’What he really wanted to ask was whether she was the one who had just blasted the cliff open from the inside.’
’But then again, that seemed impossible.’
’After all, how could a supposedly weak female like Shen Yue possess that kind of power?’
And yet, he could definitely feel a faint, mysterious power emanating from her.
Shen Yue knew he must have been waiting outside and seen her blast open the stone wall to get out.
She also understood what he wanted to ask.
She spoke.
"It was me. I’m the one who blasted the mountain wall open and walked out."
Upon hearing this, a look of pure shock appeared on Huang Ziyue’s face.
Shen Yue looked at him.
"Do you believe me?"
Although Huang Ziyue’s mind was full of questions...
...he still nodded.
"I believe you."
Hearing his answer, a hint of satisfaction appeared in her star-like eyes.
She answered truthfully.
"It’s good that you believe me. You should know I’m not like ordinary people. Other females don’t have spiritual power or skills to protect themselves, but I do."
"Since birth, I’ve possessed a heaven-sent power. It has its pros and cons. The pro is that it can help me in many ways. The con is that it has always drawn unwanted attention, causing me to be hunted relentlessly for the past decade."
She shrugged as she spoke, as if she were just telling a story.
"You saw it yourself. That man in black was one of the people hunting me. His goal was to steal my power. But he didn’t get my power. Instead, I killed him!"
As Huang Ziyue listened, the tense expression on his face gradually relaxed.
It was then replaced by a trace of heartache.
He pressed his lips together as he looked at her.
In truth, ever since the day she told him she was the little girl he had met in the Gobi, he knew she was different.
Even back then, five hundred years ago, she was already being hunted.
And now, even though she had lost her memories of that time five hundred years ago...
...she was still burdened by the same fate.
The woman she was today had superb medical skills. She was knowledgeable about many things.
She was calm, composed, intelligent, and open-minded.
She knew how to cook, how to raise children, and how to make her own choices with clarity.
But all these qualities had been forged in the crucible of being relentlessly hunted for a decade.
If she hadn’t been intelligent and calm, she likely would have perished long ago at the hands of those black-clad assassins.
He had seen another side of her in the Gobi five hundred years ago.
So, none of what she was explaining to him now came as a surprise.
He only felt a deep ache in his heart for her.
His throat tightened. While Shen Yue was still waiting for his reaction, he reached out and pulled her into his embrace.
Holding her tightly.
"Shen Yue, you don’t have to explain anything to me."
His voice was hoarse, thick with profound affection.
"I’ll believe anything you say."
"No matter how different you are, no matter what’s happened to you, no matter who you are—I will always be by your side."
Shen Yue’s heart trembled at his sudden embrace.
Pressed against his chest, listening to his strong heartbeat and feeling the cool temperature of his skin—cooler than a normal person’s—she didn’t feel cold at all.
Instead, it filled her with a sense of peace, making her want to lean on him.
