Seven Cubs, Seven Fathers, Zero Days Off
Chapter 214 - 212: He Really Made It.
Chapter 214: Chapter 212: He Really Made It.
Shen Yue heard him but didn’t respond.
Instead, she walked straight to where she remembered the pool of blood had been during the day, squatting down to examine the ground.
The ground was spotless, as if it had been washed clean by a downpour.
Shen Yue’s gaze darkened.
Bai Chaosi had been right.
The pool of blood had clearly been cleaned up, leaving not even a single trace behind.
’These people sure are fast.’
’It seems there’s a huge problem with this pool of blood. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been in such a hurry to dispose of it!’
Seeing how intently she was examining the ground, Bai Chaosi assumed she was simply refusing to give up.
"There’s no point in looking. They cleaned it spotless, without leaving a single trace of blood!"
Huang Ziyue heard him, but he ignored Bai Chaosi completely.
He simply stood quietly behind Shen Yue, confident that she would have a solution.
In his heart, he believed nothing was too difficult for her as long as she set her mind to it.
Sure enough, just as Bai Chaosi’s words fell...
A flashlight suddenly appeared in Shen Yue’s hand, casting a bright beam directly onto the ground.
At the same time, two small bottles of liquid also appeared in her hands.
Bai Chaosi and Huang Ziyue were both astonished, not understanding how the two items had appeared in the blink of an eye.
But neither of them spoke, watching quietly so as not to disturb her.
Both of them had a tacit understanding that Shen Yue possessed extraordinary abilities and was shrouded in a great mystery. Or rather, she herself was the mystery.
She was like something from beyond the heavens, always bringing them surprises and things they couldn’t comprehend.
But that didn’t change their love for her, or their desire to protect her.
Bai Chaosi had previously seen Shen Yue use a flashlight in the underground Mist Cave, back in the fissure on Wilderness Mountain.
But seeing it again now still sent a thrill through him.
It reminded him of their time in the Mist Cave, when they had faced life and death together, fought off the Lizardmen, and passed through the Gate of Life and Death.
The feeling was so vivid, as if it had only happened yesterday, a memory he cherished deeply.
Bai Chaosi was lost in thought.
Meanwhile, Shen Yue had already spotted some grains of sand remaining in the cracks of the earth.
She uncapped the bottles of phenolphthalein reagent and solvent, and let a few drops fall onto the sand and the residual dust on the ground.
Then, she switched off the flashlight.
The moonlight cast a soft glow on the ground, neither bright nor dim. But to the naked eye, the area where the liquid had been dripped slowly began to turn a faint pink.
At the same time, a faint scent of blood rose from the pink-tinged sand and dust.
Huang Ziyue had been watching Shen Yue’s every move intently. When he saw this, his eyes flashed, and his heart gave an uncontrollable leap.
’The blood has appeared!’
’He knew Shen Yue would have a way.’
Bai Chaosi, who had been lost in his memories, was snapped back to the present by the scent of blood. He looked down to see the ground slowly turning pink.
His expression froze, and a soft, amazed light shone from his narrow eyes.
The way he looked at Shen Yue was filled with utter awe.
’How did she do that?’
’The ground had been washed so clean that even his spiritual power couldn’t detect a trace of blood, yet Shen Yue had revealed it just like that?’
’It would be a lie to say he wasn’t shocked. This was simply incredible!’
As the bloodstains appeared, Shen Yue used a handkerchief to carefully collect the tainted grains of sand.
She had secured the blood sample.
For masters like Huang Ziyue, even this tiny trace of blood was more than enough.
Identifying someone from the aura of their blood was a simple matter.
Shen Yue carefully put the handkerchief away and stood up.
She turned to find both Bai Chaosi and Huang Ziyue staring at her with fervent eyes.
She paused, taken aback.
"Why are you both staring at me? I got the blood sample. Let’s go back and rest."
She had no idea how her focused expression as she worked, as if performing a magic trick, had left the two men so utterly stunned, captivated, and full of admiration.
Hearing this, Huang Ziyue’s Adam’s apple bobbed.
"Alright. Let’s go back and rest."
He stepped forward and, right in front of Bai Chaosi, wrapped his arm around Shen Yue’s shoulders, ready to leave.
Bai Chaosi remained rooted to the spot, watching Shen Yue’s back. He opened his mouth as if to say something... but in the end, no words came out.
But many years later, Bai Chaosi would remember this night as his greatest regret.
If he had known that something would happen tonight that he would regret for the rest of his life, he would have done anything, even died, to keep Shen Yue with him.
When Shen Yue followed Huang Ziyue back to the courtyard, she found an unexpected surprise waiting for her.
Seeing the food and wine laid out in the room, Shen Yue froze.
The dishes were clearly similar to the ones she had cooked before.
An ordinary Beast Clan family wouldn’t be able to prepare this kind of cooked food.
She looked at Huang Ziyue beside her, puzzled.
"What is all this?"
’Who made this?’
Huang Ziyue looked at her.
"You barely ate at the banquet this morning, so I had something prepared for you."
Shen Yue was astonished.
"Who prepared it?"
’Who could possibly prepare dishes like fried eggs, fish soup, and pan-fried fish?’
Huang Ziyue’s expression became a little unnatural. He cleared his throat.
"Why don’t you try some first?"
She had been busy all afternoon, and now, so late at night, she still hadn’t eaten.
His heart ached at the thought of her being hungry.
Shen Yue noticed his strange expression and immediately had a thought.
She pointed at the dishes on the table.
"Did you make these?"
Seeing that she had guessed correctly, Huang Ziyue looked a little embarrassed and let out a low "mm" from deep in his throat.
’He really did make it.’
Shen Yue’s eyes went wide as she stared at him in utter disbelief.
’Huang Ziyue knows how to cook?’
’The noble King of the Flood Dragon Clan, the legendary Great Emperor Master, a man who has lived for centuries and is as cold as an iceberg... he knows how to cook?’
Her voice was laced with incredulity.
"When did you learn to cook? And when did you make all this?"
Seeing her strong reaction, Huang Ziyue felt a little awkward. He didn’t know if his cooking was any good and was afraid of disappointing her.
He said evasively:
"I made it after you left this evening."
"It should still be warm. It’s probably not very good, but... have a taste."
In truth, over the past few months, from the moment he had truly taken Shen Yue into his heart, he had been secretly watching her cook, silently memorizing her every step.
He knew that she only ate cooked food and disliked anything raw.
He worried that she wouldn’t get used to the food at Ancient Dragon Castle, that she might go hungry, and that he wouldn’t be able to take proper care of her.
That was why, when she wasn’t looking, he had been secretly practicing his cooking and his Fire Control.
All so that he could make sure she had cooked food to eat.
