Chapter 89: Chapter 89: You Don’t Blame Me? You’re Not Angry With Me?

And yet, the little ones made no sound, merely huddling close together and covering their mouths in fear.

Time trickled by. From head to toe, Er Bao looked like a hedgehog, bristling with needles.

But Shen Yue’s hands never stopped moving.

Only when the last needle pierced his tail did she finally stop and wipe the sweat from her brow.

Then, she took the nearby Vitality Water and slowly poured it into the corner of Er Bao’s mouth.

By now, the sky outside had long since grown dark.

She realized that at some point, the little cubs beside her had quietly fallen asleep.

Only Dabao was still struggling to keep his eyes open, staying guard by her side.

Shen Yue’s heart softened, and she pulled Dabao into her arms.

"Go to sleep, Dabao. You don’t need to watch over your female mother. Er Bao will be fine."

The little one was utterly exhausted. Hearing Shen Yue’s words, he seemed to relax and let out a soft, sleepy hum.

Then he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Shen Yue glanced at the moonlight filtering through the bamboo window. It must have been the middle of the night.

Her body had grown stiff from sitting, but she couldn’t stand up, nor could she sleep.

Er Bao, covered in needles, required her constant vigil. She had to watch him closely, never taking a step away, to prevent any sudden movements that could dislodge the needles from their acupoints and cause even greater harm.

And so, Shen Yue sat before Er Bao, watching over him for a full two hours.

Only then did she begin to slowly remove the needles, one by one.

Meanwhile, Mu Silin, who had been standing guard outside, had barely moved a single step since that morning.

He stood silently in the courtyard, a stoic guardian watching over the bamboo house.

In the moonlight, his figure was tall and straight, his gaze firm and resolute.

But the look on his handsome face betrayed the anxiety and worry hidden deep within.

An entire day and night had passed.

Dawn was about to break, yet Shen Yue had not emerged.

Not the slightest sound came from inside the house. For him, every passing second was an agony.

The profound self-reproach was nearly drowning him.

A subordinate standing with him in the courtyard looked at the lightening sky.

"General, you should get some rest. I can keep watch here."

Mu Silin heard him but said nothing, remaining motionless.

It was as if he were punishing himself.

Meanwhile, from the shadows, Huang Ziyue watched Mu Silin, who had been standing there all night. His icy eyes narrowed slightly as his gaze shifted to the bamboo house.

’That woman has been inside for nearly a full day and night.’

’Why hasn’t she come out?’

’He couldn’t help but worry about what she was doing in there. Could she be so heartbroken that she was crying all by herself?’

’Shutting herself in, refusing to emerge?’

At this thought, his heart sank a little, and the expression on his cold face grew taut.

He spoke. "In recent years, has any S Class Healing Doctor appeared in the K Empire?"

The subordinate, who had also been with him all night, replied immediately.

"To my knowledge, fewer and fewer Beastmen have awakened Healing Spiritual Power in recent years. There have been no reports of an S Class Healing Doctor within the K Empire."

Hearing this, Huang Ziyue’s fine brows furrowed slightly.

Just then, the door that had been shut tight for a day and a night was thrown open from within.

Shen Yue’s slender figure stood in the doorway.

The moment she looked out, her gaze met Mu Silin’s, which was filled with self-reproach and anguish.

She froze for a second.

’Has this man been standing in the courtyard all night?’

And the moment she opened the door,

Bai Chaosi, Lan Cangyue, and Ye Lüqi emerged from the shadows almost simultaneously.

Huang Ziyue also emerged slowly from the darkness, his tall, slender form casting a long shadow.

Five men stood in different corners of the courtyard, all looking at her.

At that moment, the bamboo house was like a castle protected by the five men, who had formed a bastion of guardianship around her.

Beneath the moonlight, the five men exuded powerful auras. Their expressions differed, but all of them were focused intently on her.

Their eyes held an unreadable mix of concern and affection.

For a moment, Shen Yue was taken aback.

’So none of them had slept. They were all outside, watching over me.’

She parted her dry lips and spoke to Mu Silin.

"Come inside for a moment."

Then she turned and went back inside.

Mu Silin’s tense expression tightened, and he strode into the house.

’His heart pounded with anxiety. Had something happened to Er Bao?’

’Or was Shen Yue finally going to unleash her anger and resentment?’

But it wasn’t until he was inside the house, standing before Er Bao—who still had needles in his head—that he froze in shock.

He could clearly sense the aura of budding spiritual power emanating from Er Bao.

He opened his mouth, utterly astonished.

"Er Bao... he..."

He was speechless.

Shen Yue looked at him. "I need you to inject a little of your spiritual power into him. We need to see if his core meridians have been cleared and repaired."

Hearing this, Mu Silin suppressed his shock.

He quickly raised his hand, and an intangible, pale green stream of spiritual power flowed from his palm into the space between Er Bao’s eyebrows.

A moment later, a faint green light began to radiate from Er Bao’s body.

Mu Silin’s breath caught. He was in disbelief.

"It’s clear! They’re clear!"

His eyes reddened, and he was overcome with joy.

"Er Bao’s spiritual power meridians are repaired!"

Outside, the four men who had been straining to hear any sound from within instantly exchanged a look.

’Er Bao’s spiritual power meridians... repaired?’

’How... how is that possible?’

’That’s something not even an S Class Healing Doctor can guarantee a one hundred percent recovery for!’

Hearing this, a weight was finally lifted from Shen Yue’s heart.

She knelt and gently pulled the last few silver needles from Er Bao’s head.

Mu Silin watched, his heart pounding in alarm.

’To think such long needles could be withdrawn from Er Bao’s head without a single drop of blood.’

His eyes were fixed on her, his entire being lost in a state of shock and elation that was beyond words.

’She really healed Er Bao! She repaired his meridians!’

After removing the last needle, Shen Yue said,

"Thankfully, we caught it in time. Any later, and it’s hard to say how much it would have affected Er Bao’s development."

Mu Silin’s throat tightened as he listened.

He looked at Er Bao, his expression a mixture of guilt and heartache. Then he raised his head to look at Shen Yue, his dark green eyes rimmed with red.

Shen Yue didn’t meet his gaze, busying herself with packing her things.

"Alright, you should go get some rest too. There’s no need to worry anymore. Once Er Bao wakes up from a good, long sleep, he should be good as new. He’ll be able to transform just like his younger siblings."

Mu Silin listened, staring at her in a daze.

He opened his mouth, but it was a long moment before any sound came out.

"You... you don’t blame me? You’re not angry with me?"

’He had thought Shen Yue would at least yell at him, or blame him, or even drive him away and warn him to never go near Er Bao again.’

But she hadn’t.

She hadn’t said a word, hadn’t vented any of her feelings on him.

From start to finish, her emotions had been so stable that she never once complained, never even shot him a single reproachful glance.

She was focused on only one thing: treating Er Bao.

This made him feel even worse, more guilt-ridden, and utterly ashamed of himself.

’As Er Bao’s Father, he was completely useless!’
