Shattered Fate
13.The Wind User
Wael and Amira were flying when the golden symbol in his palm began glowing more intensely.
He looked at it and said:
"Looks like we're getting close."
He descended gently onto a long beach stretching toward the horizon.
Amira climbed down, and they continued walking along the shoreline.
After a few minutes...
A distant island appeared in the middle of the sea.
A massive mountain rose from its center.
Wael stopped.
"Looks like... this is the place."
But the weather began to change.
The wind gradually grew stronger, and the clouds thickened until they began concealing the island.
Wael frowned.
"This isn't natural."
He quickly led Amira toward a large rock near the shore.
"Stay here and don't leave, no matter what happens."
She nodded.
Wael shot into the sky.
But...
A violent storm struck him and hurled him back to the ground.
He slowly raised his head.
Someone was flying above the winds, surrounded by a gray aura mixed with black.
Before Wael could move...
Dozens of wind blades shot toward him.
He raised his arms to block them, but they sliced through the skin of his arms and legs, leaving scattered wounds.
Wael clenched his fist.
"So..."
"I'll force you down."
He raised his hand.
Lightning bolts shot into the sky.
They struck his opponent directly.

But his body vanished into the storm.
In an instant...
He emerged from the heart of the wind directly in front of Wael and threw a powerful punch.
Wael barely dodged it.
But the boy had already extended his palm.
A massive blast of wind erupted from it.
Wael was sent flying dozens of meters before crashing into the ground.
The boy laughed.
"Hahaha..."
Then he said mockingly:
"You're not as strong as Bahaa described."
He smiled as he surrounded himself with wind again.
"Looks like this mission... will end sooner than I expected."
Wael planted his feet firmly on the ground while the wind swirled around his opponent.
He stared at him.
"So... you're the one who kidnapped Zaki."
The boy smiled.
"Zaki?"
He shook his head.
"No... that was Zeno."
"As for me... I'm Dill."
He paused for a moment before continuing:
"You can think of me as Bahaa's brother."
Wael's eyebrows furrowed.
"His brother?"
Dill laughed.
"Don't be surprised."
"We're brothers from different mothers, so we never had the chance to know each other during our childhood."
He waved his hand dismissively.
"Enough of this nonsense."
The wind around him intensified.
"The leader ordered us not to kill you..."
A mocking smile appeared on his face.
"...but he never said we had to bring you back in one piece."
A blue aura erupted around Wael.
At the same moment...
The two vanished.
They appeared facing each other in midair.
Their fists collided, creating a shockwave that pushed the clouds away around them.
Dill spun his body and released dozens of wind blades that rained down like arrows.
Wael wrapped lightning around his arms and shattered most of them with his fists, while some pierced through his aura and scratched his shoulder.
Dill gave him no chance to rest.
He raised his hands, and a massive tornado formed beneath Wael's feet.
Wael was lifted by the vortex, but he released a lightning bolt that descended vertically into the tornado, tearing it apart for a moment.
He seized the opportunity and charged toward Dill.
Electricity surrounded his foot as he kicked Dill in the stomach.
Dill was knocked back several meters, but he regained his balance in the air and moved his arm.
Dozens of wind blades formed behind Wael.
Wael turned quickly and unleashed a barrage of lightning.
The lightning collided with the blades, filling the sky with successive explosions.
Wael emerged from the smoke and charged forward, but Dill was already one step ahead.
Three massive tornadoes formed around him and rushed toward Wael from three directions.
Wael jumped to avoid them, but the tornadoes suddenly changed direction and closed in on him from all sides.
The wind accelerated to tremendous speed, twisting around him like a gigantic cage.
He tried to escape, but every time he approached the edge, wind blades tore into his body.
Wounds appeared across his arms, back, and legs.
The tornado grew faster, and Wael's cries echoed from within it.
Dill smiled.
"It's over."
But...
A red explosion erupted from the heart of the tornado.
The wind was torn apart in an instant.
Wael stood in the middle of the dust, surrounded by a red aura.
Dill's eyes widened.
"Whoa... what is that energy?"
Wael answered:
"Power Pulse."
Then he clenched his fist.
"An explosion of the latent energy within the Element."
"It multiplies the body's strength and energy."
Dill looked at him with interest.
"Looks like it hurts you too."
Wael smiled.
"That's right. That's why..."
He vanished from his position.
"...this will end quickly."
Dill's face was struck by a punch he never saw coming.
Before he could comprehend what had happened, electricity wrapped around his entire body.
Wael raised his hand.
"Explode."
A massive electrical blast erupted, sending Dill flying dozens of meters.
He tried to get back up, but Wael appeared directly above him and kicked him into the ground.
Dust rose into the air.
Dill charged again, releasing dozens of wind blades, but Wael tore through every one of them with his lightning-coated fists.
Dill unleashed another tornado.
Wael pierced through it with a direct lightning strike and reached him before it could fully form.
Dill took a punch to the chest, followed by an elbow to the face, throwing him off balance.
He tried to retreat using the wind, but Wael pursued him every time, as if the lightning reached every direction before he did.
His attacks grew faster and stronger.
A punch.
A kick.
A lightning strike.
Then an electrical burst sent Dill flying again.
Dill tried using the wind to defend himself.
But every tornado dissipated before it could fully form.
Every wind blade shattered before reaching its target.
Finally...
Dill dropped to his knees, gasping for breath.
At that moment, the red aura around Wael faded.
Power Pulse disappeared.
But this time, Wael didn't appear severely exhausted.
He approached Dill with calm steps.
"I see you've stopped being so arrogant."
Then he stood before him.
"Do you understand the difference in strength between us now?"
Dill let out a short laugh, making Wael stop.
"You finally came."
Wael frowned.
"What?"
He instinctively turned around.
In the next moment...
A dense wave of dark blue energy struck him.
His body skidded several meters across the sand.
He slowly raised his head.
Sif stood before him.
His eyes were covered in black.
His blue aura had become intertwined with dark energy.
Wael whispered in disbelief:
"Sif...?"
Then concern tightened in his chest.
"What happened...?"
"And where's Elias?"
Dill stood beside Sif and wiped the blood from his mouth.
Then he smiled.
"Let's begin..."
"...round two."
