19. The incident 2

After the explosion ,Wael ran with everything he had.

One explosion... Then another... Then another.

Pink beams began raining down from the sky.

Wail tried to use his energy, but nothing happened because he had never used it since obtaining it. So he could only keep running.

He drew closer and closer... until he finally arrived.

He froze. The entire neighborhood... was gone.

The houses had been reduced to rubble, and craters covered the ground.

He ran toward Layla's house. "Layla!!"

The rubble was too massive for him to lift. He screamed with all his strength.

And in that moment... lightning exploded from his body for the first time. The rubble was blasted in every direction.

Wail gasped for breath. Then he stepped forward with trembling legs. His hands were shaking. He slowly reached for the hand.

But... there was no body.

Only the arm.

He froze in place, unable to even scream.

Slowly, he raised his head. Bodies were scattered everywhere, and blood covered the ground. Flames consumed what remained of the houses.

Then... he raised his eyes toward the sky.

A girl was floating high above, surrounded by pink energy.

She looked down at the destruction below. Then she rose higher... and disappeared into the clouds.

Wail lowered his head. He slammed his fist into the ground. Then again. Then he began violently striking his head against the ground.

But... not a single tear fell from his eyes.

Not because he was strong. And not because he was hiding his grief.

The shock was simply too great to even allow him to cry.

The scene returned to the present.

Wail was kneeling on the ground. His eyes were closed, and his expression was terrifyingly cold. His face was pale, as though everything inside him had been emptied.

The pink chains continued draining his energy. One second... then another... until his body finally went limp.

He collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.

Minutes later... Hida entered, followed by several Valis women.

They approached Wail, who was lying motionless on the ground. Not even a trace of energy remained within him.

One of them moved to release the chains. But... the moment she touched them, the sound of electricity crackled through the air.

She recoiled with a scream, smoke rising from her hand.

Hida raised her hand. "Don't rush."

She stared at the chains with interest. "It seems his elemental electricity has filled the chains."

The next moment... the chains began to glow.

But... it wasn't golden. Nor blue... but deep crimson red.

Black sparks of electricity crackled through them.

Hida took a step backward. She felt something she had never experienced before.

Amid the silence... the sound of Wail's heartbeat echoed inside him.

With every beat, a red electrical spark erupted from his heart. All of this was happening inside Wail's dark, fog-filled mind.

Suddenly... a red-and-black aura exploded from his body.

It spiraled around him like a storm before settling over his entire body, until nothing of him could be seen except for two glowing red eyes burning within the aura.

Hida's eyes widened. "What is this...?!"

Before even a fraction of a second could pass... blood scattered through the air.

Hida turned around. Two of her followers were lying on the ground. One had lost her head. The other's body had been split in half.

Hida hadn't even seen Wail move.

He vanished. Then appeared. Then vanished again.

The entire area became a blur of red electrical flashes. With every flash... another girl fell dead.

Screams. Blood. Severed limbs. Heads rolling across the ground.

This wasn't a fight... it was a massacre.

And yet... Hida showed only a slight trace of concern.

She looked at Wail and said firmly: "You won't kill me."

Silence.

Then she continued: "You still want to know what happened that day... don't you?"

Wail vanished again. But this time... he didn't appear in front of her.

Instead, Hida began hearing the screams of her followers echoing from every direction. One after another.

He hunted them without mercy. There was no anger in his eyes. No hatred. Not even pity.

It was as though he had lost every emotion... and only killing remained.

Silence fell.

Then... Wail suddenly appeared in front of Hida.

His hand closed around her neck. He lifted her off the ground.

She didn't resist. She didn't even try to break free. She simply stared at him in silence.

Suddenly... Wail's hand stopped.

Another scene appeared before his eyes.

A girl was bound by purple chains. She wore tight-fitting armor whose sections glowed with the same color as the chains. A mask covered her entire face, leaving only her glowing pink left eye visible. Her long hair was purple.

She spoke softly: "Leave."

Wail didn't answer. He simply stared at her in silence.

One of the chains binding her broke. She slowly raised her hand.

Suddenly... Wail lost his balance. He felt as though all the energy within his body had been ripped away at once.

The red aura began to crack. Then it gradually faded. His face began to emerge from beneath it. His eyes were completely red.

He fell to his knees. His body continued trembling as the aura slowly disappeared.

He heard her voice again. "Leave..."

She paused for a moment. Then added: "I don't want you to get hurt."

A purple aura engulfed the area. And Wail disappeared.

When the scene opened again... Wail's body was lying unconscious on an isolated beach.

Someone stood before him, staring at him in shock.

It was Elias.

He sighed as he picked Wail up. Then said: "Damn... what's happening to us...?"
