Shattered Fate

7.Something is coming

Wael returned to his harsh training under Yassin’s supervision, while the scene shifted elsewhere.

Elias quietly left his house and found a car waiting in front of the door. Amira was sitting in the front seat beside her mother, and the moment they saw him, they waved to him.

Elias got in, then turned toward them with a faint smile.

“How are you two?”

Amira smiled.

“We’re good. But I haven’t seen you in a while. You seem pretty busy these days. What have you been doing?”

Silence filled the car for a few seconds, as if Elias were thinking about his answer. Then he spoke calmly.

“No... nothing. I’ve just been working at several restaurants.”

Amira smiled.

“That’s nice. Being independent is a wonderful thing.”

Her mother added, “Believe me, your family is proud of you.”

The smile vanished from Elias’s face instantly, replaced by a slight stiffness in his expression.

Amira quickly whispered to her mother, “Mom... this isn’t the right time.”

Her mother sighed apologetically, while Elias broke the silence with a sudden question.

“Amira... do you know someone named Wael?”

Amira’s eyes widened, and her voice rose before she could stop herself.

“You know him?!”

Silence filled the car for a few moments.

Her mother smiled as she looked at her daughter.

“Looks like the girl has finally found someone to fill her heart.”

Amira’s face immediately turned red, and she waved her hands in denial.

“No... it’s not what you think! He’s just someone I met for one day. But he seemed like a good person... and then he suddenly disappeared.”

She turned toward Elias with concern.

“Do you know anything about him?”

He answered calmly, “No. One of his friends asked me about him, so I thought you might know him.”

Amira simply looked out the window, but his words did nothing to ease her concern. If anything, they only made her more uneasy.

A little later, Elias asked them to drop him off in the middle of the road and left.

Amira couldn’t shake the feeling that something about his behavior was strange. She immediately got out of the car and told her mother that she had just remembered something she needed to take care of.

At the training grounds, Wael stood beneath the waterfall, letting the cold water pour over his exhausted body. He let out a long breath as he washed away the traces of his grueling training, while Yassin stood atop a rocky peak, watching the horizon.

“Get some rest, then continue your training,” Yassin said without turning toward him. “And we’ll finish the day with a fight between us.”

Wael let out a long sigh.

“Haah... so I’m getting beaten up again today. Yeah, yeah, I know... it’s important.”

Yassin chuckled.

“Even so, you’re doing well, Wael.”

Silence settled between them for a moment before Wael raised his head.

“Yassin... aren’t you going to tell me about the Golden Transformation?”

Yassin answered calmly, “Didn’t we already finish that subject? Focus on your training.”

Wael shook his head.

“That’s not what I mean. I just want to understand... where did this transformation come from? And how did you know about it?”

Yassin remained silent for a few moments before answering.

“The Golden Transformation is the first form of energy evolution within the body, and the first step toward truly mastering it.”

He continued in a calm voice.

“The first user of Raw Energy used it during the Great War, and it was one of the key factors that helped him turn the tide of the war.”

He looked at Wael.

“To reach it, you must attain a certain level of strength, skill, and energy control. It is impossible to achieve without them.”

Wael’s eyes widened.

“The Golden Warrior’s technique?! No way... How did Elias master it? Does that mean he’s as strong as him?”

Yassin gave a mocking laugh.

“Are you kidding me? Even all of us together don’t come close to even a small fraction of his power.”

Then he looked at Wael seriously.

“And who gave you permission to call him the First Warrior?”

Wael replied, “I just shortened the name... And if he has a name, tell me.”

Yassin answered with clear respect.

“Keiji... that is his name.”

He continued firmly, “We are expected to show him the respect he deserves, so we don’t simply call him by his name. Understood?”

Wael nodded.

“And... was that his strongest technique?”

Yassin smiled.

“Certainly not. I would say it was probably one of the first techniques he ever created.”

Excitement lit up Wael’s eyes.

“So he has other techniques? And can we reach them?”

Yassin sighed.

“You really like getting ahead of yourself, don’t you?”

“Everything comes in its own time, Wael. There are things you need to know now, others that must wait until the right time, and things no one will tell you. You’ll have to discover those yourself.”

He smiled faintly.

“That is what makes a true fighter.”

Wael asked directly, “Does that include the way to reach the Golden Transformation?”

Yassin gave him a sharp look.

“Get back to your training.”

Wael turned away with a confident smile.

“I don’t need an answer from you. I’ll reach it myself, and I’ll show you what I can do.”

Yassin muttered under his breath after Wael had walked away.

“Obtaining power... isn’t always a good thing.”

He lowered his head slightly.

“It can come with drawbacks... more often than not.”

But Wael had already walked too far away to hear him.

Yassin sighed when he realized he had let those words slip out without meaning to.

Then he raised his voice.

“We’ll start today by learning a new technique. I’ll explain it to you when our fight begins.”

Wael turned around excitedly.

“A new technique?! I’m ready!!!”

Evening came.

Wael lay sprawled on the ground, gasping for breath, his body trembling from exhaustion.

Yassin stood over him.

“You’ll master it with time.”

Then he added seriously, “But using it puts tremendous strain on your body. The stronger your body becomes, the longer you’ll be able to use it.”

The days passed quickly.

Wael improved at an astonishing rate, to the point that Yassin began to notice that his progress was exceeding his expectations day after day.

Despite that, Wael continued to fail at mastering the new technique. His attempts to reach the Golden Transformation continued as well. Yassin repeatedly told him not to try to reach it, but Wael refused to listen and stubbornly insisted on trying.

At the same time... Amin stood alone, his expression unusually calm.

Suddenly, he clutched his head in pain.

A faint aura began to seep from his body. A sinister smile appeared on his face for only a few moments before disappearing as though nothing had happened.

Elsewhere... Bahaa sat inside an abandoned house with Mark and their third companion.

He remained silent, staring into the distance. Then, he began to smile strangely, as if he were waiting for something he knew would happen soon.
