She Came to Heal, Stayed to Conquer
Chapter 220 - 148: You Really Have the Nerve
Upon hearing that Han Lei was back, everyone immediately perked up, and the old lady and Hua Tianyou showed expressions of relief.
As long as Han Lei was there, they believed that reviving this death warrior was within reach.
Hua Tianyou was even more eager and couldn’t wait to head out to meet her. He walked briskly, almost jogging to the door.
Just as Han Lei got off the motorcycle, before she had even taken off her helmet, she heard Hua Tianyou’s voice.
She turned her head to see Hua Tianyou running towards her, his face full of anxiety, shouting, "Han Lei, Han Lei, you’re finally back! Come in quickly and see, you must wake this guy up!"
Han Lei took off her helmet with a tired expression, her brows slightly furrowed: "What’s wrong? What happened?"
"Oh my! It’s a big deal." Hua Tianyou slapped his thighs, his tone urgent: "Tonight, death warriors came to assassinate Zhao Zun. Two of them were shot, one is already dead, and one is currently unconscious..."
So, Hua Tianyou animatedly recounted the events of the night.
The more Han Lei listened, the more shocked she became, and her face instantly showed anger.
She had seen them on TV, so she was well aware of what "death warriors" meant. They were a group dedicated to carrying out dark tasks for their master, often willing to sacrifice their lives at any moment.
Someone actually deployed death warriors to assassinate Zhao Zun? Who could be so insane?
And the unconscious death warrior inside was the only one with clues about this assassination. She had to save that death warrior.
With that thought, Han Lei could no longer care about the dust and fatigue all over her, and hurriedly followed Hua Tianyou into the courtyard.
The old lady saw her and a flash of relief appeared in her eyes: "Lei’er, you finally came back. Quickly take a look at this person, can he wake up?"
"Sister-in-law, you’re back." Zhao Ling’er also looked delighted.
"Greetings, Princess Consort."
The servants hurriedly paid their respects to Han Lei, but she only nodded politely.
She quickly walked over and crouched down, placing her hand at the death warrior’s nose where Hua Tianyou was pointing and said, "There’s still breath."
Han Lei ordered the servants to carry the death warrior into the dining hall, carefully laying him face-down on the large wooden table.
The dining hall had only one solar lamp hanging on the wall, which was nearly out of battery, and the lighting was rather dim.
Han Lei bought a hammer, nails, and ropes from the system and had the servants nail the nails on both walls, pulling two ropes horizontally above the table.
Then, she hung a few solar lamps on the ropes, creating a makeshift shadowless lamp.
She waved her hand, signaling the others to leave, leaving only Hua Tianyou and Ms. Li.
"You two stay and help, the rest of you, please go out."
Han Lei’s voice was stern and calm, as if the life-or-death crisis before her was just a part of her daily routine.
Hua Tianyou and Ms. Li exchanged glances, feeling puzzled, but they nodded nonetheless.
Hua Tianyou had just disinfected the death warrior’s wounds, and although they did not fully understand how Han Lei would save this death warrior, Hua Tianyou was very confident.
Because, the more time he spent with Han Lei, the more he realized that Han Lei possessed means beyond their reach.
When everyone left, Han Lei’s consciousness had already entered the system, pulling out a small portable X-ray machine.
This X-ray machine was characterized by its light weight, portability, user-friendly interface, and simplified procedures, making it suitable for non-professionals in emergency situations.
Moreover, it could generate high-quality X-ray images in a short time, suitable for urgent medical or on-site inspection, with some models even supporting battery power.
Such portable X-ray machines were widely used in modern hospitals, clinics, ambulances, industrial inspections, airport security checks, and more.
Watching Han Lei operate the machine as if no one else was present, Hua Tianyou and Ms. Li widened their eyes in shock, but no one spoke up, fearing interrupting Han Lei’s work.
The X-ray machine soon displayed the image of the death warrior’s scapula on the screen.
"The bullet is lodged in between the bones, not hitting any vital parts; he’s unconscious due to excessive blood loss and needs a blood transfusion immediately to extract the bullet."
Han Lei spoke in a low voice, her tone calm without the slightest ripple, as if she was facing an ordinary patient in a hospital, apart from precise medical terms, she said nothing else.
She retrieved a silver box from the space, and upon opening it, it revealed neatly arranged tools of various strange shapes.
This was a set of emergency tools she had prepared for herself upon arriving in this world and having access to space, just in case of emergencies.
