After saying their goodbyes, Alex finally stepped out of the villa.

Behind him, the heavy doors clicked shut, leaving Viktor to descend into the subterranean vault to begin his breakthrough while the other four locked down the perimeter.

The crisp morning air hit him the moment he cleared the porch, carrying the cool, faint scent of pine and cut grass across Roland Estate. It was a sharp, refreshing contrast to the metallic, ozone-heavy atmosphere of the underground training hall.

A quiet, satisfied smile touched Alex’s lips as he walked down the stone steps.

Phase Two was officially in the books. Eclipse Holdings wasn’t just an abstract name or an empty shell company anymore; it had a registered foundation, its first dedicated tactical division, four battle-ready Apex fighters, and a commander on the verge of stepping into the Ascension Realm. Everything had fallen into place without a single wasted move.

And now, waiting patiently in his system buffer, was the reward he had been eager to test: Sovereign’s Gaze: Eye of Insight.

Crossing the wide courtyard with an unhurried, measured stride, Alex reached his car and pulled the door open.

He slid into the driver’s seat, and the solid thud of the door closing instantly shut out the morning breeze, enveloping the cabin in absolute quiet.

Settling back against the leather headrest, Alex rested his hands on the steering wheel, a faint, expectant light gleaming in his dark eyes.

"Lilith," Alex called out inwardly. "I’m ready. Initiate the assimilation."

[Acknowledged, Host,]

[Sovereign’s Gaze: Eye Of Insight]

?[Type: Innate Ocular Ability]

?

?[Discription: A true sovereign does not build an empire by doing the work of clerks, accountants, or middle managers. True dominion lies in placing the right pieces on the board, anticipating their limits, and recognizing their value before they do.

?Sovereign’s Gaze: Eye of Insight strips away polished resumes, practiced corporate smiles, and deceptive social masks. With a single glance, the host perceives the raw capability, psychological allegiance, and organizational value of any human asset.]

[Accessing System Buffer... Extracting reward: ’Sovereign’s Gaze: Eye of Insight.’ Beginning ocular neural restructuring now.]

A sharp, icy pulse bloomed directly behind his temples.

Alex closed his eyes as a wave of cool, crystalline energy washed through his optic pathways. It wasn’t painful, but the sensation was intense.

For nearly two minutes, the energy circled in a rhythmic spiral, synchronizing his optic nerves with his cognitive pathways.

Gradually, the cold tingling receded into a warm, soothing stillness.

[Assimilation complete,]

[Sovereign’s Gaze: Eye of Insight successfully integrated.]

Alex opened his eyes, blinking against the crisp morning light slicing through the windshield.

He glanced around the quiet cabin of the car, then looked down at his hands, waiting for a shift.

Nothing.

There was no dramatic optical flare and no neon overlays cluttering his vision. The steering wheel, the leather dashboard, and the gravel courtyard outside looked entirely ordinary.

Alex raised a slight brow, a dry edge touching his thoughts.

’That’s it?’ he asked inwardly. ’I don’t feel anything different.’

A soft, amused chuckle echoed inside his mind as Lilith chimed in.

"Of course you don’t, Alex. Did you expect lightning to shoot from your eyes?" she teased, her velvety voice laced with faint mockery. "It isn’t an offensive combat art, it’s an imperial appraisal tool. The ability remains completely dormant until you actively call upon it."

Lilith paused briefly, letting her tone turn smooth and informative.

"The moment you look at a prospective target with the intent to evaluate them... whether you’re interviewing a corporate candidate, vetting a new subordinate, or sizing up a rival’s competence... all you have to do is will it. Their true capability, psychological loyalty, hidden liabilities, and optimal placement will lay bare before your sight without them ever knowing."

A faint, knowing smirk tugged at the corner of Alex’s lips.

"Nice," he murmured, leaning back comfortably against the leather headrest. "Now... bring up the corporate interface for Eclipse Holdings."

A crisp, translucent panel flickered into view right beside his personal status interface, neatly categorizing the organizational assets of his budding empire:

[ECLIPSE HOLDINGS]

[Registered Headquarters]: 14 Central Corridor

[Status]: Legally Established / Private Conglomerate

[Owner]: Alexander Hale

[Chief Executive Officer (CEO)]: Vacant / Pending Appointment.

[Executive Board]: Unassigned

[OPERATIONAL DIVISIONS]

[Division 01]: Special Operations and Tactical Security Division

Division Commander: Viktor (Peak Apex Realm — Ascension Breakthrough in Progress)

[Core Members]

1. Andre (Early Apex Realm)

2. Damien (Early Apex Realm)

3. Dimitri (Early Apex Realm)

4. Pavel (Early Apex Realm)

Alex studied the interface carefully, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the steering wheel.

The bones of the enterprise were already far stronger than anyone in the district could imagine. Four Apex operatives and a future Ascension commander gave him kinetic dominance over ordinary street syndicates and mid-tier family.

’Could he evaluate subordinates who were already sworn into Eclipse Holdings, even when they weren’t standing directly in front of him?’

Focusing his intent, Alex locked his gaze onto Viktor’s name and willed the ability to activate.

’Appraise.’

The interface rippled softly. A faint, crimson-silver hue bled into the text before expanding into an intricate, dedicated evaluation dossier.

[Talent & Asset Evaluation: VIKTOR]

* Status: Head of Special Operations

* Cultivation Realm: Peak Apex Realm

* Faction Alignment: Eclipse Holdings

[COMPETENCE & APTITUDE METRICS]

- Tactical Command: 10 / 10

- Mental Fortitude: 10 / 10

- Combat Lethality: 9.5 / 10

- Corporate Acumen: 5.5 / 10

- Deceit Index: 0%

- Loyalty Rating: 100% (Absolute / Unbreakable)

- Optimal Placement: Division Commander

- Overall Rating: 10 / 10

Alex read through the breakdown, a slow, genuine smirk spreading across his lips.

’Ten out of ten.’

A zero percent deceit index and an unbreakable loyalty rating. In a city where even family members stabbed each other in the back for a few shares of stock or a single vial of cultivation pills, having a subordinate with absolute loyalty was priceless.

Viktor wasn’t built to negotiate commercial mergers or charm municipal council members over champagne, and that was perfectly fine. Viktor was the sharpest blade in Alex’s arsenal—a commander who would hold the shadows by the throat and execute every order without asking a single question.

Alex dismissed the dossier with a flicker of his mind, the dark-gold screen returning to the broader corporate ledger.

The sword was secured.

Now, all that remained on the corporate board was finding the brain capable of running the empire from the shadows.

?[DING!!]
