Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure
Chapter 2548: Being used
This was something that only I could feel, which was why no one else found the situation strange.
But the moment that the swords cut into the tentacles, I could tell that there was something that was draining away the power that was in the swords. It was as if there was something that was slowly taking away bits of the swords themselves.
Though because of the power difference between the two sides, the swords were still able to pierce through the tentacles in the end.
If it wasn’t for that, the situation might have completely changed.
However, it wasn’t as if I was about to leave the matter alone.
Especially since I wasn’t able to do any substantial damage to the mass.
The swords had penetrated the tentacles that came from the mass, but it wasn’t as if it had reached the main part of the mass. The tentacles had come out enough that they were able to be discarded when they were pierced by the swords to a certain point.
"It seems like I’m not using enough power yet."
With that, I created even more swords in this space.
What I had done before was out of consideration of what we would be doing later. Using too much power at once wasn’t good since we still had other places to deal with.
Only it seemed like saving power really wasn’t the way to go.
If we didn’t deal with this mass now, it felt like it would become more and more troublesome to deal with later. If I didn’t stop holding back, it felt like there was something that was about to change with the mass.
As more and more swords formed, the tentacles just weren’t able to keep up with them. Even though the mass was releasing these tentacles to defend itself, the swords were able to pierce the main part of the mass.
When this happened, the mass no longer stayed still as it started running away from the swords that I released. It was doing everything that it could to try and survive, but it wasn’t just that alone.
"It’s trying to buy time..."
I wasn’t the only one that figured this out, anyone that was watching the mass was able to tell that it was trying to stall for as much time as possible. Almost as if it had some kind of plan.
However, I was the only one that had an idea of what its plan was.
I was able to figure this out when the first sword had stabbed into the main part of the mass.
When the sword hit the mass, the same thing happened where this was this strange sensation that came from it. It was as if the mass was trying to do something to the sword.
However, this sensation was stronger than before.
It seemed like the mass had figured out something with how the sensation changed.
But in the end, it wasn’t as if this mass was able to accomplish its goal.
In the end, there were just too many swords that were coming from all different directions that it just simply couldn’t do anything anymore. At the same time, I made sure to use speed differences so that it would dodge in a way that put itself in danger.
So it didn’t take long for the mass to become a pin cushion with how many swords were stabbed into it.
Even when it was on death’s door, it didn’t beg for mercy.
At the very least, this was the same as the other potential member of the Four Omens that I had faced previously.
Though I didn’t bother asking any questions as I could still feel that same sensation from the swords that were stuck in the mass. It was still trying to buy time even though all of these swords were stabbed into its body.
"You really are persistent." That was the only thing that I admired about this mass.
Still, I sent even more swords stabbing into this mass in the end to finish it off.
There was no point in asking it anything since there was no way that it would have said anything. Which was why the only thing that could be done was to put it out of its misery.
The other relic users looked at me as if they thought that this was a bit of a pity.
However, their expressions changed when they heard what I said.
"We were being used. It was trying to learn how to use its powers by using us."
It didn’t seem like they believed what I said at first, but they had no choice but to accept it in the end when they saw the swords that fell down onto the ground. From the marks that were left on the swords, they immediately figured out what had been happening.
So none of them said anything as they turned to help the others clear out the corruption energy monsters.
It seemed like they didn’t feel like they had done anything, so they were planning on taking this frustration out on the corruption energy monsters that were here.
I didn’t join them as I stared at the spot that the mass had been in previously.
As I stared at it, I couldn’t help thinking to myself, "This thing really only cares about one thing. It seems like they only want to become members of the Four Omens and nothing else."
After all, this thing had been trying to figure out the power of Famine that it was supposed to inherit. It was trying to use that power to swallow everything that we threw at it, but that didn’t work out in the end.
As I was staring at it, there was this annoyed feeling that did fill me as well.
With a sigh, I thought to myself, "It really isn’t a good feeling when you’re being used by something else."
Then without a word, I turned to leave this place.
