Chapter 1012: Second Round

Back to the Inner Haven...

The alchemy battle is still ongoing and the second round is now in progress. The six contestants on the stage had started refining their pills on their own. The first one to complete the refining of their pills is still Yun Ziyao but unlike before the first time he made his pill, he didn’t look proud like before. After the first round was over, it was very easy for one to recognize the difference of talent between alchemists. Clearly, Yun Ziyao had learned about this painful truth faster than anyone within the crowd. That’s why he hesitated greatly to submit his pill this time.

The host noticed this and approached his table instead.

{Little one, done with your pill?}

Yun Ziyao was no longer as arrogant as before and even was hesitant to give his pill to be tested. The host pat his shoulder and said,

{Do not compare yourself with a monster. That is someone who will never stay at one place. She is destined for the top. The peak of the cultivation world. No one can be compared to her. Instead you shouldn’t waste your time and learn as much as you could from her. This is also an opportunity if you take it as one.}

{Alright, let me test your pill first!}

[Purification Pill. Earth-rank. 2nd grade. 78 percent quality]

The advice of the host had caused Yun Ziyao to be interested. After all, learning from someone who can be considered as an Alchemy God.

Yun Ziyao asked, "Will it be alright?"

{If she minds, you wouldn’t even be able to see what she is doing right now?}

The words of the host made every alchemist in the area focus on the process of pill refinement. Even though there are a lot of processes they couldn’t understand, just watching was educational enough. That precise control over fire, each ingredient has different heat temperature and there is the timing of putting in the material in the furnace as well as its arrangements were different as well.

An alchemist commented, "Temperature of heat is different for each material."

"There is also the right timing to put the ingredients in the furnace."

"So it can be done like this?"

While everyone was watching, the second one to finish is actually Pill Tower Master Han Siyu. As soon as he finished, the host appeared before his table and wanted to grab the pill in his hand but Han Siyu avoided it.

"Host, you only need one pill for testing, why are you taking about the rest of the pills?" asked Pill Tower Master, Han Siyu.

The host obviously recognized this pill and wanted to take trade away from the rest.

{Han Siyu, can I exchange your pill with some rare heaven-grade ingredients?}

Han Siyu looked strangely at the Host and then asked, "You know what pill I’ve refined? There are only three pills you want to buy all of it? But this pill isn’t that helpful for seniors? This is only helpful for helping those who are stuck at Mahayama Realm and Godking Realm. It helps one break through one minor level or a major one if one is at peak stage."

{It’s fine. The younglings from the family can use it instead!} The host said as he picked one and placed it on the testing device.

[Breakthrough Pill. Heaven-ranked. 7th grade. 90 percent purity.]

Another heaven-rank pill was made and it’s an ancient pill like the other pill refined by Han Siyu. This time the grade of the pill is much higher but less purity as it is a pill that is ranked higher than the Qi Replenishing Pill from before.

{Not bad~. Two Ancient Pills! Can you sell extra pills to me?} The host pulled out some rare immortal herbs for Han Siyu to choose from.

Han Siyu’s eyes glowed when he saw the floating immortal herbs around the host and immediately traded his pills for some of it. He was happy with the result of the trade and waited for the others to finish their pills.

"Oh my"

Unexpectedly, this time Yun Zhou and Han Siri seem to be about to finish their refinement. Something unwanted had happened at the last moment. Han Siri’s pill forming had almost failed due to the pill explosion caused by Yun Zhou’s pill.

"Oh my god! Did someone’s furnace just explode!"

"Scary! I hope the others weren’t affected by it."

While the audience were worrying about the other’s pill progress, the host who noticed that something before the explosion had taken place had put up a barrier around the stage preventing the audience from getting hurt and another barrier for every contestant due to the distance of each alchemy table per contestant. A barrier erected by an emperor realm cultivator like the host was not something that can easily be broken by a pill explosion. When the spreading dust and smoke faded, barriers for each contestant were seen surrounding them and no one was hurt except for Yun Zhou who was very close to the scene of the explosion.

Yun Ziyao upon seeing his clan elder flew out of the stage, realized that he is much more injured than anyone had expected. He immediately helped him over and fed him some healing pills. He looked worried at Elder Yun Zhou as he noticed that he was having some signs of poison on his body.

"Uncle Zhou?! How are you feeling? These symptoms... are you poisoned?" Yun Ziyao panicked for a moment when he saw the black traces on Yun Zhou’s skin appearing in such a state.

The host upon seeing the state of Yun Zhou fed him a detoxification pill to remove the poison on him. He frowned and said, {Though it wasn’t forbidden to submit a poison pill, you must have been extra careful refining it. Now that you failed this Pill refining, your score can only be considered as zero right now.}

As expected when Yun Zhou heard that he had failed the second round and even scored zero was devastated. This means he is guaranteed not to be included in the top three for individual ranking. Winning the group scoring would be harder now than expected. His face turned dark and fainted from shock when he was informed that he had scored zero for the second round. Even the Yun patriarch had given him a disdainful glance for failing to score even worse than the youngest contestant. No one had expected him to end up in such a state.

Yun Zen said with a contemptuous tone, "Useless thing!"

The atmosphere at the side of the Yun Clan had turned tense and a bit gloomy. Some members of the clan helped young master Yun Ziyao to bring over Yun Zhou who had lost consciousness from shock to the audience side for further treatment. Right now, the group cannot leave as the competition isn’t over yet. Even though there is a bigger chance that the side of the Pill Tower can win this Alchemy Battle, as an alchemist himself, Yun Zen refuses to lose even the individual ranking. The awkwardness in the area was broken by the Han Siri who had just finished his pill.

Han Siri said, "Host, I want to submit a pill!"

The host immediately came over to the side of Han Siri happily as he knew that the pill Alchemist Han Siri had submitted was another ancient pill.

{Good~. Let’s go test your pill~. Hm? Why is there only one?} The host asked as he noticed that there is only one pill coming out from his cauldron.

Alchemist Han Siri said, "It is not my fault. The difficulty of this pill is quite high. Moreover, it is only my second attempt. The first only was a semi-failure!"

The pill which flew out of his cauldron had landed on the test device after it was taken out of the semi-divine grade treasure given to him by the Moon Goddess. Everyone waited for the result of testing and wanted to know what kind of ancient pill Han Siri had refined.

[Qi Boosting Pill. Heaven-ranked. 8th grade. 95 percent purity.]

[Effects: Capable of temporarily allowing the user to increase his realm by one major realm. Sideffects: weakness for three days.]

{This is not bad. This can be considered a pill that can save your life especially when being surrounded by enemies with a higher realm than you are. Moreover, the grade of the pill is almost the highest grade.}

{Alright! We are done with the last two contestants!}

Everyone was waiting for the next contestant to finish his pill refinement. The remaining contestants are both the strongest alchemists of either side. One is a member of the Alchemy Association from Core Haven and the other is a mysterious alchemist whose background is unknown but is capable of creating pills that were only found in the history of the cultivation world. When the half a day was almost up, the two contestants were about to finalize their pill making until another phenomenon similar to that of a pill tribulation had taken place.

RUMBLES~
