Chapter 841: Chapter 376: Race Against Life and Death
"What did you say?"
At first Gu Ji thought he’d misheard.
But the airport security guard repeated it very seriously, "It’s true. The screener verified it twice, and he still kept stressing that he has a bomb in his ass!"
Gu Ji narrowed his eyes slightly.
No wonder the screening lane had been shut down.
Twice verified, and the passenger still said he was carrying explosives. That already counted as a sudden high‑risk incident.
You have to understand, the security area is packed with people. If anything happens, the consequences will be extremely serious. Nobody dares take the risk of hiding it and leaving passengers in danger, so triggering the emergency response plan is absolutely the right call.
"Got it. Have the police been called?"
"The screener already called the police and reported the situation. Airport control just notified us to immediately activate the emergency plan, and to bar passengers from entering the screening area."
"Okay. Get a few more people, clear out the passengers in the screening area as fast as you can. I’m going in to take a look!"
Gu Ji didn’t waste words. He tossed that out and had security let him in.
The entire screening zone was already a mess.
Passengers were crowded around the lane where it happened, watching the show. People were pushing and shoving, bodies everywhere, not a patch of open ground left.
"Hey! They’re fighting!"
"Quick, quick, quick! This is definitely gonna be tomorrow’s top headline!"
"How much fake booze did that guy drink? Daring to cause trouble at the airport—once the cops show up, I wanna see if he still acts so tough!"
"Whoa! Look, looks like some woman just rushed in—she’s got guts!"
"Police! Back off, don’t crowd around here, it’s dangerous!"
When Gu Ji heard that last sentence, his gut told him it had to be Li Yanan, so he flashed his ID on the spot, slipped through a gap, and in just a few moves forced his way into the screening lane.
Before he could focus his eyes, two shadows suddenly lunged at him from the front!
"Police! Stop right now!!"
As he barked the order, his body slid to the side, both hands grabbing on by reflex, locking onto the shadow’s arm in an instant, wrenching it backward, while his leg shot up at the shadow’s knee joint!
The whole chain of moves was fast as lightning.
With a thud, the shadow was forced down on his knees.
"Gu Ji?"
A surprised voice came from behind the shadow; the other figure was actually Li Yanan. "I thought you’d already left."
"I was just about to leave when I heard something happened at security. I called you, you didn’t pick up, so I came in!"
As Gu Ji answered her, his hand was already reaching toward the troublemaking passenger’s ass.
"Ah! That hurts, that hurts! Hey! The fuck, you dare to touch my ass? Let me go right now!"
"Police. I’m warning you: you’re already suspected of breaking the law. Cooperate with the inspection!"
Gu Ji ran his hands over the passenger’s ass again and again. Even though he felt it was unlikely someone would hide a bomb in their ass, he still didn’t dare be the least bit careless.
"You low‑life scum, you’re insulting my dignity! Abroad, nobody would dare treat me like this! I won’t let some dumbass like you touch me!"
"Reporting to command center, the subject has been subdued. Mr. Li, this is...?"
At that moment, several screeners rushed over in a hurry.
Before they could finish, Gu Ji freed one hand to flash his badge and gave crisp orders: "Move! Evacuate the passengers from the scene. Immediately conduct a detailed search of the relevant area, especially his luggage!"
"Yes, Mr. Gu! Li, clear the area, now!"
An older screener caught sight of the words "Dragon Tiger" on the badge and agreed on the spot.
When it comes to handling sudden incidents and counter‑terrorism, this guy was the real expert.
In no time, all the rubbernecking passengers around them started withdrawing from the screening area in an orderly fashion under the guidance of the screeners and airport security.
Gu Ji’s ears finally got a bit of peace as he hauled the troublemaking passenger to his feet.
The man looked around thirty or forty, dressed in a sharp suit like some overseas‑educated elite, but the way he spoke and his attitude were no different from a street shrew.
"You scum, let me go! Or I’ll get a lawyer and sue you into the ground. You think being a cop makes you special? You not only hit me, you’re groping me in public, insulting my dignity. Overseas, you’d be going to jail for this!"
"This is my second warning: this is the Xia Kingdom. You follow Xia Kingdom law here. You disobeyed airport security inspection, you’re suspected of carrying explosives, you attacked security staff, you verbally abused police—this already constitutes a serious violation. We’re taking compulsory measures against you—reasonable, compliant, and legal. You want a lawyer? Fine. But right now, you will answer my questions truthfully..."
Facing the passenger’s abuse, the veins in Gu Ji’s eyes were already reddening, and his gaze was icy sharp as a blade.
"Where is the bomb!!"
The roar, full of force and menace, made the troublemaker shudder on the spot. His momentum collapsed instantly; he didn’t even dare meet Gu Ji’s eyes, like some monkey who thought he was king of the mountain suddenly bumping into a real tiger.
Who was Gu Ji?
This was someone who dared take terrorists head‑on. How could he possibly be bluffed by some low‑rent thug?
"W‑what bomb? I don’t know what you’re talking about!"
"Mr. Gu, I verified with him twice. Both times he clearly admitted ’I’ve got a bomb in my ass.’ It’s all on the surveillance footage!"
The lead screener on the side saw the troublemaker suddenly lie and change his story, and immediately produced hard evidence.
"Excuse me."
Just then, several uniformed officers came in through the screening lane. The one in front, a square‑faced cop, reached out his hand. "I’m Yang Zhi’an, deputy chief of Lukou Airport Police Station. Thank you for your hard work, officers."
The whole thing had blown up out of nowhere.
