Chapter 864: Who Are You, Really? (2)
Gu Ji warned the train driver word by word.
Because when experienced drivers can’t stop the vehicle instinctively, they think of using the slope or friction from the guardrails to slow down, which is one of the safest ways to stop a speeding vehicle out of control.
So, he simply used his own white pickup truck to lead the way for CZ3193.
Who could imagine that a giant freight train with fifty or sixty cars would be wildly chasing a small car in the wild.
The workers turned back, looking at the massive locomotive just four or five meters behind them, far larger than themselves, with headlights more exaggerated than a braincase, and an impossibly sharp front plow, scared to the point of losing their souls.
The most terrifying part is, it carries over a thousand tons of “bombs” behind it.
It could explode with a “BOOM” at any moment!
“Watch out, there’s a rock ahead!!”
Suddenly, Haiji in the co-driver seat pointed at a big blue rock beneath the car’s hood and shouted.
But because the surrounding wild grass was nearly half a person’s height.
There was no time for Gu Ji to react; he could only hurriedly steer left. Just hearing a loud “bang,” the right front bumper hit the rock.
This time, their luck wasn’t as good as last time.
The car instantly lost control, spinning on the grass like it was drifting on the spot.
Just as Gu Ji raised his head and opened his eyes.
He saw the enormous train lunging at him, and he could even see the terrified expressions on the faces of the train’s driver and co-driver through the front windscreen!
“Run——!!”
Without another word, Gu Ji quickly unbuckled his seatbelt, kicked the car door open, and dashed from the vehicle headfirst.
Upon landing, he didn’t dare take a glance and desperately rolled to the side.
The next second.
There was another loud bang. Gu Ji got up and watched as his white pickup got thrown to the ground by the train, caught beneath its front, and crushed and deformed by immense force, making a screeching metallic noise.
But it was precisely because it got wedged under the front.
Instead, it formed a resistance plow, uprooting the surrounding wild grass and soil, piling up in front of the train, growing bigger and bigger.
Ultimately, allowing CZ3193 to successfully come to a stop!
“Phew…”
“Are we saved now?”
“Seems like it, the train finally stopped, we’re safe now!!”
The workers collapsed one after another, panting heavily, staring wide-eyed at the steel dragon in front of them.
But just then, there were two cracking sounds.
A spark suddenly burst out from the engine.
“Quick! It’s not safe here, everybody evacuate!”
Gu Ji got up, rushed to the train’s locomotive, climbed up, knocked hard on the cabin door, pulled out the two drivers, and led everyone away from CZ3193.
Just as he had fled not far.
The system’s notification sound arrived right on time.
[Objective: Ensure Ghabari survives the accident successfully…]
[Ultimate Goal: Successful containment of the accident, current death toll: 7/50 people…]
[Side Mission: Earn Ghabari’s trust!]
In an instant, the words before Gu Ji’s eyes scrolled incessantly like a reel of light.
One after another.
With only a dozen minutes left, Gu Ji had no time to examine closely, casually picked two rewards, and swiftly moved on.
In a matter of seconds, he completed two tasks in succession.
“It looks like police ahead, we’re saved!”
As Gu Ji was reading the last step, a worker excitedly pointed forward.
Several police cars and a large number of railway personnel were crossing the tracks, heading toward them.
Haiji and others initially thought the cavalry had come to rescue them.
Little did they know, before they could rejoice, the police cars screeched to a stop in front of them.
Suddenly, doors swung open, and several policemen and mysterious personnel in black suits stepped out, firearms drawn, aiming at their foreheads.
“Don’t move! Get down!”
“Everyone down! Immediately!”
Staring at the dark gun muzzles and hearing the police’s shouts, the workers were thoroughly dumbfounded.
“We haven’t done anything!”
“Is it because of work mistakes, that higher-ups are now holding us accountable?”
They thought the police were here because they forgot to reset the track.
But Gu Ji noticed the Savama Secret Police mixed in among the police and Revolutionary Guard.
Exactly.
Ghabari and Hasha must have become vigilant after he triggered the fire alarm and emergency brake.
Once they search the train carriages, they will soon find the blond man locked in the restroom by him.
From him, learn about his “Mossad” identity.
Adding to his public escape through the window and impersonation of Savama to steal a car at the parking lot, they likely attributed the CZ3193 derailment to him as well.
Given such a significant series of events, how could they not take it seriously!
“I recognize him, that’s him!”
No one expected that among this group, Kafu, the train attendant with a red-nosed face, would identify Gu Ji as the suspicious figure who smashed the emergency button and fled.
The Savama Secret Police squinted and walked straight over, taking him aside from the scene.
Seeing this scene left Haiji and others dumbfounded.
“You, didn’t you say you were with Savama…”
“Sir, did you deceive us?”
“How can that be, he clearly predicted the train would go out of control and derail!”
The workers’ last remark caught the attention of the secret police.
“Ah! My car!”
Among the people watching and spectating, a passerby suddenly shouted hoarsely.
It was the parking lot driver whose vehicle Gu Ji had taken.
“Apologies.”
Gu Ji apologized just before being pushed into the car by the secret police; he vaguely spotted a familiar figure in the crowd, perhaps the Persian beauty, Claudie.
Once inside the car, the secret police officer in the front passenger seat was already reporting to his superior.
Gu Ji understood he didn’t have much time left.
So he got straight to the point: “I want to talk to your VIP, Major General Ghabari, just tell him I have something he wants!”
Upon hearing that name, the secret police officer quickly turned around.
Eyeing him with shock and vigilance, he repeated the message aloud to the person on the phone.
A moment later, the phone was handed to him, “The gentleman wants to talk to you.”
“Hello?”
Due to his hands being bound by nylon ties, Gu Ji could only lean his head forward to speak.
“I am the one you are looking for.”
The phone voiced Ghabari’s deep tone, “You seem to know quite a bit. Go ahead, name your terms, just tell me what Mossad’s real purpose is!”
“That part was made up, I’m not from Mossad.”
Gu Ji’s words made Ghabari show a hint of surprise.
“Oh? You say you’re not from Mossad, so why did you orchestrate all these events against us?”
It appears his hunch was right; Ghabari indeed credited the CZ3193 derailment to him.
“I wasn’t targeting you; on the contrary, I was saving you!”
Gu Ji quickly recounted his actions from jumping off the car to rescuing the derailment in a few words, changing the reason to having received potential attack information against Ghabari.
“Hehe, if things are truly as you say, why save me?”
Who knew, Ghabari seemed unconvinced, even sneering with traces of anger, “Do you understand, because of your rescue operation, you ruined a critical deal we planned for two months!!”
“I certainly know; you were after the weapon fragments in his possession, weren’t you? If I’m not mistaken, you should have seen the metal darts on the restroom walls and door panel, right?”
“You…”
Gu Ji’s claim left Ghabari speechless, “Who on earth are you!”
“Hehe, I am from, 7472!”
