Simulation Game: Crisis Management
Chapter 868: Cold-Blooded Counterterrorism Training
[Congratulations on clearing the game!]
Gu Ji barely had time to think before a “Game Over” notification sound popped up in front of him, and then everything suddenly went black.
He opened his eyes again to a dim light and familiar scent.
He was back in his apartment room.
“Hoo… ha…”
Gu Ji sat up from the bed, feeling slightly heavy-headed. Instinctively, he raised his wrist, as if only two minutes had passed.
In other words.
If one were to calculate according to the ratio of previous level-to-real-time, the system seemed not to include time outside the rollback and remake.
Alternatively, the system might have increased the flow rate between them.
Since Gu Ji vaguely remembered that the main factor affecting it was the value of the Central Nervous System.
Now his brain was groggy, wondering if it’s the “aftereffect” left by the system secretly accelerating the ratio.
But that’s not the point.
Gu Ji couldn’t forget the last scene he saw before clearing the game.
Throughout the level’s process, he never considered Claudie as an important character, even once mistakenly thinking she was a deliberate distraction by the game: using a beauty to divert the player’s attention.
So, Gu Ji didn’t know much about her.
He only knew “Ah Ming,” the role he played, was once very good friends with Claudie, but since he went to jail for smuggling, the two hadn’t met again.
This time they had a rare reunion on the train, so they were very happy chatting at first.
Gu Ji was clueless about the rest of the story plot.
But what he could be sure of:
In the five previous rounds, no matter which time, Claudie never had any verbal or eye contact with the fat man gulping water across the aisle.
Why, by the end of the sixth cycle, did the two suddenly become so “intimate”?
Then linking to the terms that appeared in the level statistics.
Gu Ji could almost confirm now that Claudie and that fat man must be Mossad agents disguised on the train!
Perhaps among them, one is the Mossad operation team leader that Ghabari was looking for.
Or thinking even more exaggeratedly.
Could “Ah Ming” never have severed contact with Claudie; is he truly a member of Mossad?
“No wonder when I casually asked her, this woman could immediately see the crux of the issue—it turns out she’s not an ordinary person…”
Gu Ji muttered under his breath, blaming himself for overlooking these details; otherwise, he might at least have snagged one more star.
Nevertheless, for a level with only 9 minutes of safe time, clearing it smoothly and especially speedrunning the final one in less than half an hour was already quite an achievement.
After sorting through the game level, Gu Ji turned his attention to the rewards.
Although he didn’t earn many crisis points this time, similar to the last level, the treasure chests were plentiful.
A total of four orange level exclusives.
Opening one or two orange-grade marks or items would greatly boost his strength.
What intrigued Gu Ji the most was the new mode the system introduced.
[Normal Full DLC Random Mode]: This mode is applicable to all DLCs in the “Crisis Management Game” except special levels and will randomly appear when loading the game level;
Once random mode is enabled, if the player dies and rolls back, they will randomly respawn as any bystander within the level.
Note 1: Characters previously possessed will not be added to the random character pool;
Note 2: Only characters who have completed clearing a level will be marked as the final player character by the system;
Note 3: During the random character selection process, there’s a certain chance to randomly receive high initial rewards;
Note 4: This is a bold experiment, come and test your luck, distinguished game player!
Compared to the previous large-scale DLC, the new mode doesn’t contain an expansion pack nor much explanation; it’s just a game style like the “Heart Mode” in classic DLCs.
However, Gu Ji still discerned several pieces of information from it.
Firstly, the random mode is only applicable to normal DLCs, meaning modern levels and classic levels. Special DLCs like Glory Levels cannot be triggered.
This setting is rather reasonable.
Glory Levels inherently have only one life, so if Gu Ji unfortunately dies during the level, borrowing a stranger on the side to revive doesn’t make sense.
Secondly, the random character doesn’t repeat.
This means every time Gu Ji dies and rolls back, he will possess a new bystander for the level.
This has both advantages and disadvantages.
The advantage is: if lucky, encountering a character with a strong background not only significantly lowers the level difficulty but, invisibly, also adds a “mighty warrior” to the 7472 Unit.
The disadvantage is: each time he dies and rolls back, Gu Ji must adapt to a new character.
To know.
Quickly understanding the character’s identity is one of the foundations of clearing levels.
Like Jiang Songyuan in the Laird Airport level, if Gu Ji doesn’t grasp his identity, he wouldn’t be able to complete the hidden task at all;
Then there’s the cruise level; quickly familiarizing oneself with Jian Na’s personal information also helps Gu Ji fabricate identities and reasons for quickly inserting into the main task.
In short, random mode greatly increases Gu Ji’s difficulty in gathering information.
If he encounters a time-sensitive level like the train explosion, there might not be any time to adapt to so many character identities.
“This really is a pure luck-based double-edged sword…”
Fortunately, Gu Ji always thought his luck attribute was pretty decent.
After understanding the rewards.
He picked up the prepared burger in the kitchen, filling his stomach as he began to study the attribute enhancements.
