Chapter 904: Chapter 406: Solo Combat

Gu Ji gritted his teeth and could only desperately run from north to west.

Two more hours passed.

He ran and stopped, and now the air he inhaled felt like it was turning into a blazing fire within his lungs, slightly burning.

This indicated that his body was slowly reaching its limit.

Looking at the streak of light on the horizon, he couldn’t believe he had run for a whole night and led a large group of extremists on a wild chase.

Before the sky fully brightened.

Gu Ji quickly made his way to the top of the western slope, took a deep breath, and turned on the strobe light on his tactical helmet.

This light source uses an encrypted frequency, emitting invisible IR lasers.

As long as one wears night vision or specialized equipment, they can see the strobe light from afar, used for friendly recognition on the battlefield.

But Gu Ji had it on for less than half a minute.

A sharp mosquito-like sound buzzed in the air from afar, a dark shadow rushing straight towards him.

The next second.

"Bam——!"

A bullet landed on the wild grass at the mountain top, not far from Gu Ji’s feet.

A sniper!

He had been discovered by the enemy.

"Damn it, they’ve got all the gear!"

Gu Ji knew it was surely his helmet’s strobe light that exposed his location.

But he had no choice.

The western mountain range was too vast, and turning on the IR strobe was the fastest way to rendezvous with Gao Bo and the others.

Gu Ji could only roll down from the mountain top, running towards the southwest escape point previously agreed upon with Gong Qingyong.

As soon as he reached the mid-slope, a barrage of bullets rained down.

Forcing him to dive down, sliding into a dirt pit, raising his rifle, firing back with precision shots.

Scanning the surroundings.

On the northwest slope, at least five or six extremists were closing in.

While shooting, Gu Ji used his peripheral vision to observe his surroundings.

Spotting the next cover, he squeezed the trigger, firing a burst before quickly jumping out of the pit, tactically reloading to maintain firepower.

Even though he was now starving, with his strength severely depleted.

His mind remained calm with high-speed reaction, his eyes and thoughts observing and calculating every second.

Gu Ji aimed with shouldered rifle, taking down the most threatening enemy with three shots, then ran down the mountain without looking back.

As he rounded the corner through a shrub.

Venomous stingers suddenly let out a roar and charged, two extremists in gray robes appearing abruptly.

Without a word, Gu Ji fired, killing one of the extremists.

The other extremist was tightly seized by the Venom’s jaws, pulling him back by the gun arm.

"Ah! You damned beast!"

The man fell to the ground, enduring the severe pain in his right arm, quickly using his legs to clamp down on Venom’s body, drawing a dagger from his waist with his left hand.

The blade just fell.

"Bam!"

A precise headshot.

"Huff... Venom, run!"

Now there was no time for Gu Ji to catch his breath, after dealing with the immediate threat, he continued towards the evacuation point.

All the while warding off pursuing extremists with gunfire.

Yet, just after taking down one enemy, two more appeared, seemingly endless.

As Gu Ji neutralized the threat on his left, preparing to fire back, suddenly a crisp clicking sound was heard, indicating the AK-103 had run empty.

He rolled away to dodge, instinctively wanting to swap magazines.

But realized all his bullets in the chest rig were spent.

Without hesitation.

Gu Ji drew the SIG Sauer P226 from his waist, lying on his side on the ground, "bang bang" shooting down a pursuing enemy, then pushed off the ground with his feet, retreating to a tree trunk.

"Venom, come here!"

He shouted, taking a deep breath, checking the pistol ammo, only 10 rounds left, totaling 25 with the spare magazine.

"He’s just ahead!"

"Quick, don’t kill him outright, I want him to taste a fate worse than death!"

Hearing the shouts of extremists from all directions, Gu Ji’s cheek twitched involuntarily, his features twisted by the malevolence.

Damn it, if you guys want to die, don’t blame me for going all out!!

He directly opened the game inventory.

Just as Gu Ji was about to call in a suicide drone missile strike.

"Bam——!"

A shot rang out, and the extremist chasing him on the mountain slope exploded in a plume of blood, dropping dead.

"Rat-a-tat-tat-tat..."

Then a barrage of gunfire rained down from his right-front position.

All rapidly targeting the bandits on the slope.

Gu Ji paused slightly.

The next moment, two flashes of white light flickered twice in succession from the distant thicket.

This signal...

It’s the exclusive friendly recognition flashlight signal of their third squadron.

It’s Gao Bo and the others!!

"Gao Bo!!"

Gu Ji got up, sprinting down the mountain, shouting hoarsely, his eyes bloodshot.

It was as if, in this moment, he released the entire night’s suppression of being surrounded and chased by dozens of enemies alone.

"Woof! Woof woof!"

Venom seemed to scent Gao Bo and his team, racing excitedly ahead.

"Gu Ji! My god, it’s really you!"

"Zhao Hua, you’re incredible! The IR strobe move was genius!"

"I told you he wouldn’t die! Gu Ji! You really made us search like crazy!"

"Get down!!"

Familiar voices came one after another in front of him, especially Gao Bo cursing, his voice the loudest, almost trembling, proving how worried this guy was.

When he heard Gong Qingyong’s final shout.

Gu Ji lunged forward, lying prone.

Then the entire Dragon and Tiger Assault Team unleashed full firepower, in the dense crossfire, Gu Ji crawled quickly, finally reaching the thickets.

Looking up, Gao Bo, with one hand, pulled him into his arms, eyes instantly wet and red.

"Damn you, finally back!!"
