Sin System: Demonic Harem After Reincarnation
Chapter 271. The Monster Released
Chapter 271: 271. The Monster Released
Boom!
Dust spewed up in the air and a brilliant pillar of light rose up into the sky, shocking the whole city. The shield started to rapidly thin out.
The faith power of hundreds of thousands could only be burdened by a 6th Circle Saint or above entity.
This holy cross that bore the prayers for many years had been used as a replacement medium. Its destruction led the accumulated power to fizzle out. The divine array went offline, causing immediate panic.
"It’s done!" Zevik laughed maliciously as he went around killing tens of priests.
Although he had been injured by Bors last night, handling those ranked lower than him was still no issue for someone of his caliber.
Only if he was surrounded by 4th circlers would he be in actual danger. Thus, when Jacob arrived at the prayer hall to assist the bishop, he still didn’t retreat.
A commotion had started outside the cathedral. People were already tense and fearful. So when the shield disappeared, they began to flee in all directions.
"Stupidity. They’re running toward the monsters." Jake obviously couldn’t let the population here decline too much, since he would be handling the kingdom afterwards.
Thus, he quickly informed Issac and the others to slow down the monsters and to target the suburbs first.
"Now then..." As he turned to face the royal palace, he saw the figure of Joseph desperately fleeing from Yvonne and Bors.
"Still alive?"
Whoosh!
Jake teleported in front of him before clenching ruthlessly.
The Archbishop barely reacted in time to dodge the direct blood manipulation which could’ve burst his heart.
As Joseph internally sighed in relief, his body jerked toward the enemy all of a sudden.
’What?!’ This archbishop couldn’t believe he let down his guard at such a critical moment. How could this happen?
That feeling of relief he felt was indeed genuine, but it was also amplified by Jake’s ability to influence emotions. This, paired up with [Malefic Enchantment], was enough to catch a difficult opponent like him!
"Looks like the immunity you had towards my abilities was something gained from the power of faith." Jake cackled, catching Joseph by his neck.
However, his hand paused for a second’s quarter, giving the old man just enough time to freefall.
"Tch! That spatial restriction again!" Jake flapped his dark wings.
Moving at an even greater speed, he arrived at the location where Joseph was likely to fall. With a flick of his arm, hundreds of icicles fell in that general area, impaling the Archbishop’s fragile body which glowed with a dim golden light.
This light quickly melted the rest of the icicles upon contact and stopped the bleeding. But before Joseph could flee again, a draconic beam directly hit his body. At the same time, a wind blade cut his arm.
"Ugh!" Joseph clutched his shoulder, taking two steps back. The force of those attacks made him kneel on the ground.
"O’ Angel of Recovery- Aaarghh!"
Jake immediately caught him again, using soulfire to burn the old man’s injuries at the same time. This made it impossible for Joseph to utilise his space talent since his mind was filled with pain.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Yvonne and Bors also landed on the ground, firmly locking onto Joseph.
"Finally, you’re caught. I didn’t think you would be such a nuisance." Jake’s irises flickered.
"Demon! There will come a day when you shall face the light’s judgement!" The old Archbishop had no fear in his eyes while shouting.
"Is that so?" Jake mused. He was just about to use Degeneration Halo when he sensed a rapidly intensifying holy mana inside Joseph’s body.
"This guy...!"
In an instant, he grabbed both of his subordinates by their shoulders and teleported back to the city center.
Boom!
A second later, a gigantic explosion rang in the outskirts of Ulford, briefly creating a second sun in the sky. The shockwaves that later followed had pure holy mana in them which slightly prickled Jake’s skin.
"What a pity. He could’ve been a great subordinate to consolidate my cult’s power..." Jake shook his head.
With Joseph’s demise, Ulford had truly lost. Thousands of monsters had already poured in.
With the careful direction of 4th Circlers, the slaughter was kept in control, giving the people ample time to flee southward through the broken wall.
Although some had gone north and east, they would soon realise that another smaller wave of monsters was heading here from that direction.
’’It looks like they won’t be needed, after all." Jake sighed before contacting Nyssa and telling her to withdraw.
He then quickly gave out some more orders to Issac, Minerva and the rest before flying toward the royal palace. Bors and Yvonne followed closely behind him.
"It looks like there is another shield here." Jake chuckled, finding it ridiculous. He was just about to blast it open when Bors flew forward.
"My Lord, let me handle it." He simply descended and passed through the formation without an issue.
Within ten seconds, the entire array dimmed and the dome-shaped magical barrier disappeared.
As a 5th Circle powerhouse of the Philips bloodline, Bors had pretty much the same authority as his brother Averon. He didn’t even need to ask the court mages to turn off the array formation.
As Jake and Yvonne landed on the castle roofs, they suddenly turned their heads to their left. A black dot in the sky rapidly closed in and landed alongside them.
"Master, the cathedral has been brought under control." Zevik said as he landed on one knee.
Jake nodded and was just about to reply when a loud boom came from below, shaking the entire palace as well as some nearby buildings.
...
Right now, the structure of the underground dungeon was filled with cracks. At the central area, the bronze door of the sealing chamber had been broken beyond recognition.
Deep sword gashes had disrupted the flow of mana inside the chamber itself, cutting the age-old runes carved on the walls, ceiling and the floor.
The nine pillars at the center no longer chained that skinny figure. Floating in silence, Dominik’s face was mostly covered by his long, brown hair.
At this moment, his seemingly lifeless grey eyes opened, and an unnatural smile appeared on his face.
"Good Job, little nephew." He floated forward, stretching his body while looking at Averon who was panting after breaking the seal.
"As promised, I’ll help you deal with your enemies... It has been a long time since I’ve had people try to kill me. Perhaps this demon you talked about will succeed..."
