Chapter 277: 277. The Aftermath (1)

As the sun finally set, the temporary array in the central plaza was also done. Monsters surrounding the whole place were finally allowed to leave through the spatial portal under the supervision of the summoners and the dragon flying above.

Meanwhile, as the noble army marched ahead, they soon realized that there were no more enemies to tackle. The aristocrats charged straight through the ruined city, but had to stop when they arrived at the central district, which was infested with thousands upon thousands of monsters.

With Pristina tied in an ’intense battle’ with Bors and the mysterious Sir Jacquavious nowhere to be seen, there was nobody else to stand up against the dragon in the sky.

Even though the nobles had been assured that the dragon was on their side, the same couldn’t be said for the rest. In her true form, Yvonne’s passive intimidation could only be withstood by someone who was at least a 3rd Circler. Thus, the majority of the army just froze.

Unfortunately, Marquis Jones was just a figurehead and not a powerhouse at the 5th Circle. The rest of the nobles weren’t much better than him.

Nobody was willing to risk charging straight into a horde of ’friendly’ monsters, including the brave Countess Margaret from earlier. Thankfully, the horde was thinning out for some reason and they’d be able to cross this obstacle soon.

Watching the noble army come to a standstill from the northside balcony, Jake couldn’t help but sigh, "Cowards! If the array wasn’t finished, they’d be late for the party."

"The nobles are always like this. Fifteen thousand strong men are more than capable of breaking through this blockade of monsters, but they aren’t willing to take any losses." Bors commented from the side.

He and Pristina were already tired of putting up the fake fight, so they’d just discreetly returned back to the castle.

"Ambitious yet lacking the will to sacrifice. Perhaps that’s what differentiates them from royalty." Jake clicked his tongue and returned to the throne room, which was way less empty right now. Actually, the entire palace was bustling with activity.

Magical torches lit up every corridor and room, with some even having fancy golden chandeliers. Corrupted servants scooted from one room to another, guiding those who’d returned.

Although most of the royal court officials were gone, there were still tens of those who couldn’t leave the city in time, and were hiding in the nearby buildings.

After learning that the situation was finally under control, they cautiously returned. Thankfully, the call of His Majesty wasn’t fake. He, actually Jake in disguise, was indeed present and that reassured the officials.

The real Averon II was inside the throne room with his family ever since they were brought back.

As for Dominik, he was remotely monitoring everything the demon did. For example, when Jake corrupted the two court mages hiding in their magic towers, or when he searched through Grimbow’s secret records in the king’s private chamber.

Of course, Jake prevented most of the spying with his Magipathy, since he considered it to be too nosy.

About an hour later, when almost all monsters in the central plaza had finally teleported back to his dungeon, Jake took off the clunky crown and put it in his inventory. He then left the palace for a short while to meet his subordinates.

Of course, Zevik, Bors and Pristina remained there to maintain order in his absence.

"You’ve all been great." Jake said, as he appeared behind Minerva and hugged her, causing her to blush red with surprise.

Casually fondling her breasts, he added. "For now, the job is done. Except Yvonne, I want all personnel to return to the dungeon and recuperate."

Ash, Issac, the four corrupted elves and the seven summoners, who were standing in the middle of the dimming array, immediately knelt.

"By your command!"

As they all disappeared, Minerva, who was still snuggled between her master’s arms, looked up in anticipation, "Can I stay tonight..."

"Naughty girl." Jake smirked as he let her go and slapped her plump rear, making her stagger into the array’s midsection.

"Lena can’t handle all those incoming monsters. You need to help her with guiding and assigning floors to them."

"But there are others-" Before the pale woman could complain, her pouting face disappeared along with her figure. Shortly after, the array’s runes dimmed and dusted off the plaza.

"Why didn’t you let her stay, master?" Yvonne gently descended in her humanoid form.

"I’m not entirely sure, but it might become a bit dangerous tonight." Jake wrapped an arm around the dragon girl’s soft waist as he explained.

"Un, I understand."

Yvonne was a young dragon who’d just reached adulthood. Even though she was usually fierce, she had become much more docile after Jake’s advancement and bloodline awakening.

"I didn’t think you had such a soft side." Jake chuckled as he grabbed her firm buttocks and squeezed them while she buried her head in his chest.

Just as he started fondling and kissing her, he saw the noble army march towards the palace.

Sighing, Jake reluctantly stopped himself and opened his inventory.

"Here, wear these first, you’re completely naked." He gave her a leather one piece along with a pair of boots.

Unlike the homunculus Fiona, Yvonne was smart enough to figure out how to wear the bizarre-fashioned clothing she received.

Thankfully, the top part didn’t restrict the freedom of her wings and the skirt was short enough to not fully cover her tail. But to accommodate those features, the clothing itself had to be overly revealing.

Most of Yvonne’s breasts were out, with only her nipples covered. But even those things made visible imprints without a bra. Also, since the tail lifted the back of her skirt, her ass cheeks were hanging out.

Compared to her earlier appearance, she now looked even more exotic - like a ripe fruit in a foam net, waiting to be eaten.

"Mmm, I didn’t think it would suit you so well..." Jake couldn’t help but smile in satisfaction.

"Let’s go." Grabbing her again, he teleported right in front of the noble army and exercised light mana pressure toward the soldiers.

Immediately, the frontline staggered backwards with some even falling like dominos. This caused the march to halt again.

"Who dares?!"

Several horses neighed as figures in luxurious armors rode ahead, drawing their respective weapons as they did so.

"Calm down." Seeing a bunch of 2nd and 3rd circlers acting tough was too amusing.

Just the aura Jake passively exuded was enough to stop them in their tracks. Not to mention Yvonne in his arms. The entire army felt suffocated by their presence.

"This... you are-"
