Chapter 279. Two Fathers, Two Husbands

Cecil, the youngest daughter, quickly jolted away from Averon with fear in her eyes.

This caused the other two to stop hugging him as well. Queen Sophia abruptly stood up and also put up a distance from her husband.

“No no no, he’s lying! He’s lying!” The real Averon tried getting close to his family, but this caused them to step back even more.

“Enough.” Jake theatrically drew his sword and pointed it at Averon. “Don’t you dare harm their souls.”

Stretching his free hand towards the women, he said with utmost seriousness, “Quick, come to me. It’s dangerous right now.”

On one side, you’ve got a lone Averon without any support. On the other side, the disguised Jake had various court officials to legitimize his identity. He was even wearing the royal crown. To a bystander, it was obvious who’s the real deal.

However, Queen Sophia wasn’t going to be fooled so easily. Even though she didn’t know who to trust, she didn’t blindly run towards Jake and backed away even further.

“Girls!” She beckoned her daughters to come to her side instead.

Jake neither stopped them nor did he act impatient since he’d already expected such a reaction. Instead, it was the real Averon who was agitated. This ploy had started way too suddenly, leaving him with no chance to prepare.

But he was still thankful to Sophia for not immediately trusting the demon either.

“Darling… how can there be two of you?” She asked while holding Cecil and Shirley’s hands. Daphne wasn’t her own daughter, she just stood beside the queen.

“It’s him! It’s him, he’s the demon!” Averon pointed at Jake who had a slight smirk on his face, which he quickly masked.

He ignored the man and turned towards the rest of his ‘family’ with a somber and sorrowful expression.

“I may have lied to you in the past… The responsibilities of the crown compelled me to do so.” Jake acted as if he was admitting his guilt and dramatically sighed.

“But… this time, I’m being entirely truthful.” Hesitant, he stepped forward and stopped, saying,

“Sophia, my love, I trust you. You must make the right decision. Not just for me, but for us as a family!”

“Pfft!” Dominik, who was hiding nearby using an invisibility spell, couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

“Love… family… How interesting!” His tone was filled with sarcasm.

But since he was nowhere to be seen, everyone else in the room was startled as they frantically looked around. This included Jake since he wasn’t done acting.

“A-Another demon?”

At the same time, Averon’s delighted voice sounded, “Great Uncle! You haven’t abandoned me, after all! Stop him. He’s deceiving-“

“Evil scum, when will you learn to give up?!” Another voice countered from a different entrance.

Taking quick strides, the second prince walked into the throne room and knelt below Jake, “Your Majesty.”

Meanwhile, the real Averon thundered furiously, “Roland! Is this how you talk to your father? Come over here and accept your punishment!”

However, this prince was already corrupted and briefed about this exact situation. Even if he knew who was real, he still only acknowledged the fake one.

“Father,” He looked at Jake instead. “You’ve been cruel to me ever since my mother passed away. But even you wouldn’t punish me for being deceived.”

“Son.” Jake patted his new servant and smiled in parental pride. “You have indeed not disappointed me.”

Finally, this exquisite gas-lighting seemed to have worked on somebody.

“Elder brother!” Daphne called out and ran up to Roland.

Cecil and Shirley also wanted to follow but Sophia stopped them, saying, “Let her go if she wants to.”

“But-“

“I’ve never trusted him. Wait until Splennar arrives.”

Hearing this, the youngest quietly stayed but the older one escaped her mother’s grasp.

“I’ve always obeyed your every command ever since I grew up but enough is enough!” With that said, the rebellious princess lifted her long skirt and followed behind her eldest sister.

“Shirley, you…” The queen weakly stretched her hand and sighed. At that moment, she seemed to have noticed what hardship her daughter silently went through and felt guilty.

Still, now was not the time for this. Sophia’s eyes darted cautiously between the disguised Jake and the real Averon.

Honestly, she also felt that the one who arrived was her real husband. But looks can be deceiving, so she watched the attitudes and behavior of them both.

“There there, no need to be scared.” Jake softly cajoled Daphne and Shirley while caressing their backs.

The soft bosoms of these delicate princesses heaved up and down as they intimately hugged their supposed father, not knowing his devious intentions.

On the other side, the real Averon knew that speaking any more would aggravate the situation even further. Since those two had already been lured, he could only look at Sophia and hope she’d expose the demon.

In any case, his wife and daughters were under no harm for the time being. All of this was simply the demon’s attempt at getting what he wanted.

‘This is the best he can do. He can’t invade their minds like he did to Bors and Roland…’ Averon kept coping in his mind.

But he seemed to have forgotten that there was a fatal loophole in the contract. Even if Jake couldn’t directly plant a seed of corruption in them, or use a mind control skill like [Malefic Enchantment], he had other ways at his disposal.

For example, his lust-specific skill [Craving Touch]. It made the targets extremely horny towards the user but didn’t encroach upon their mind domain.

The targets could still willfully resist all they wanted. Whether that would be effective or not… that’s a different story.

Another example would be Jake’s bloodline ability. Emotions could indeed influence the mind to think in a certain way, but it’s indirect. Such nuances were never mentioned in the contract so this approach was also allowed.

Even Jake was surprised when Dominik didn’t point that out. Perhaps he didn’t really care much for Averon’s family or the whole thing in particular. As long as he got some useful knowledge, he would’ve profited.

Also, if Dominik became too active right now, Jake could argue that this was interfering with the ‘Interaction’, and that would be a violation of the contract. Thus, the cursed prince had gone awfully silent after laughing once.

“Sophia, my dear. Are you still not convinced?” Jake’s eyes were slightly red, as if he would tear up.

“I… I’m not sure about…” Sophia’s voice wavered while she sank her thin wrist in-between her firm mounds.

“What is there to be unsure about even now?” Jake raised his voice while conveniently grabbing his ‘daughters” waists and pressing them on his body even further.

“You, you… let go of them! Stay away from her!” Averon still couldn’t hold himself back but was ignored again.

“Did you forget about that time I wed you and said you were the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen?” Jake sounded overly emotional as he stepped toward Sophia and Cecil.

“I still remember that night and all the pleasures we had!” He kept going. “I still remember your charming moans, your supple body… and I know you haven’t aged a day since then!”

“W-Wha…” Sophia covered her blushing face, embarrassed to no end.

She didn’t realize that all of this was just generic bullshit that could be said about any married woman. In her shame, she allowed Jake to get close to her.

“Ahem. Do you trust me now or should I tell everyone about that o-other night?” He stuttered on purpose.

“No! You… idiot!” Sophia quickly jumped at him and buried her hot, red face on his chest.

Jake finally let go of Shirley and Daphne and comfortably caressed ‘his wife’, even slipping a hand down to her fat ass and clenching it.

“Umh… stop it…” She whispered.

Jake didn’t go any further and smiled at Cecil who smiled back at him.

“Papa, you have to tell us why- mmhghh” Suddenly, a hand covered her mouth from behind and carried her away.

“Cecil, my daughter… I will protect you!” Averon solemnly vowed and dashed toward the exit. If he waited any longer, even she would be in the demon’s arms!
