Chapter 126: Chapter 126: The Strongest Assassin in History

Pushing the door open, Su Han saw a young man tied to a pillar. Hearing the door, the young man and Wu, who was in charge of the interrogation, both turned to look toward the entrance.

"Wu."

Su Han nodded to Wu and walked over to the young man.

"Crown..."

Seeing Su Han approach, Wu was about to offer a formal greeting, but Su Han gave a slight shake of his head, his eyes stopping the words on the tip of Wu’s tongue.

"Who are you?"

Su Han came to a stop in front of the youth and looked at him, his Eye of Truth scanning the young man from head to toe.

The youth gave Su Han a curious glance. "I’ve said it a bunch of times. I is a killer!"

Su Han: "..."

’Seriously, where in the world did you pick up this accent?’

"A killer?"

The youth nodded. "That’s right. But I prefer it when people call me an assassin."

"Mm."

Su Han nodded. "So, you’re here to assassinate someone?"

A flash of helplessness crossed the youth’s eyes. "If I say I is lost, you believe me?"

Su Han shook his head. "No."

He looked at the youth again and asked in return, "If you were me, would you believe it?"

The youth thought for a moment, then shook his head. "Me neither."

Seeing his frank expression, Su Han suddenly... was starting to believe him.

After a moment’s thought, Su Han took a Brick out of his Storage Ring and waved it around in his hand.

"See this Brick?"

The youth nodded. "See it."

"Since you see it, you’d better start telling the truth. Don’t make me get rough."

"I speakin’ truth.

I is a killer.

I got no feelings.

And no money.

But I very happy!"

"WHACK~"

Su Han glanced at him and, without another word, let the Brick fly from his hand, landing squarely on the back of the youth’s head.

A large lump visibly swelled up on the back of his head.

"Here, look up. Look at me."

The youth looked up at Su Han, his eyes filled with confusion. "I was speakin’ truth. Why you hit me?"

Seeing that his eyes no longer held their previous clarity, Su Han knew the Brick’s Dumbing Strike had taken effect.

He thought for a moment, then asked, "What’s your name?"

"I is a killer! I cannot reveal my true identity!"

’Huh? So he really is a killer?’

’He seems quite principled, though!’

Su Han stroked his chin, thinking for a moment. "Then you’re here for an assassination? Who is your target?"

"I... is lost!"

A strange expression appeared on Su Han’s face.

’He really got lost?’

If not for the dazed look in his eyes, he would have suspected the guy’s acting skills were just too good.

"So, you’re not on a mission right now?"

The killer nodded. "I was going to Jing Country’s Imperial City, but I walked and walked and got lost."

Su Han: "..."

’You can get lost doing that? You’re a special kind of talent, aren’t you!’

’Look at me... I’ve never gotten lost just by leaving the house!’

Giving the killer a disdainful look, Su Han spoke again. "Since you’re not on a mission right now, your identity isn’t ’killer’.

So, besides being a killer, do you have any other identities?

Like... your name?"

The youth looked up and glanced at Su Han.

"Fifth Six Seven."

"Hm?"

Su Han was taken aback. "Is that your rank? But it’s five, six, and seven. So what number are you, exactly?"

"Fifth Six Seven. Is my name."

The youth looked up at Su Han, a light that could be called faith flickering in his eyes.

"My name is Fifth Six Seven.

I is a killer.

I got no feelings.

And no money.

But I very happy!

I like it when people call me an assassin.

My dream is to become the greatest assassin in history."

Su Han: "..."

’So he’s a killer... an assassin with a dream. Too bad this isn’t some talent show; I can’t help him make his dream come true.’

Still, Su Han had a relatively good opinion of people with dreams.

After all... having a dream is what separates a person from a salted fish.

"Why do you dream of becoming the greatest assassin in history?"

Fifth Six Seven gave Su Han a strange look. "My master was an assassin."

"And did your master become the greatest assassin in history?"

Fifth Six Seven shook his head. "No! Three years ago, Master tried to copy the ancestors and assassinate the emperor of Xuanyuan Country. He didn’t even make it into the palace before the guards caught him and beat him to death."

Su Han: "..."

’So he’s a killer with a backstory.’

"Your master met such a tragic end, and you still want to become the greatest assassin?"

Fifth Six Seven nodded. "Assassin! It is my faith!"

Su Han gave him a look like he was staring at an idiot. "Then what are you planning to do in the Jing Country’s Imperial City?"

Fifth Six Seven opened his mouth, then looked at Su Han with some caution. "You seem like people from Jing Country. I cannot say."

’Huh? Assassins can hear it, but people from Jing Country can’t?’

Su Han thought for a moment, then shook his head at Fifth Six Seven. "What makes you think we’re from Jing Country?"

Fifth Six Seven pointed at the ground beneath his feet. "This ground... is Jing Country."

Su Han smiled. "Even though you stumbled in here by getting lost, you must know that this little valley is surrounded by mountains, almost completely cut off from the outside world, right?"

Fifth Six Seven nodded. "I flew over."

"Exactly!"

Su Han nodded, continuing his bluff. "If we were people from Jing Country, why would we be hiding away in a small valley like this instead of living in a city?"

Fifth Six Seven looked up at Su Han, thought for a moment, and nodded. "What you say... has reason."

"It’s perfectly reasonable."

Su Han nodded. "I don’t mind telling you, I nearly dug up the ancestral graves of the Jing Country’s royal family myself."

Fifth Six Seven looked at him, half-believing, half-doubting. "Then... what kind of people are you?"

"Enemies!"

Su Han said it unequivocally, without a hint of guilt.

"Enemies?"

Su Han nodded. "That’s right. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Seeing as you seem to be planning some action against Jing Country, we could very well be friends."

Fifth Six Seven looked at Su Han, thought about it... and felt that what he said seemed very reasonable.

’If they were on Jing Country’s side, they probably wouldn’t need to be laying low in a small valley like this.’

"What you say... has reason."

"Right!"

Su Han nodded. "So, can you tell me now what you’re going to the Imperial City for?"

Fifth Six Seven nodded. "No problem. I go to realize my dream."

Su Han looked at him in surprise. "The greatest assassin in history?"

"Not wrong!"

Fifth Six Seven nodded. "Three days ago, the Assassin’s Alliance released a piece of news: Jing Country, Imperial City, Emperor’s Blood has appeared."

Su Han’s heart skipped a beat. ’So they’re after me after all?’

"What does the Emperor’s Blood have to do with your dream?"

Fifth Six Seven looked at Su Han, his eyes shining brightly.

"The greatest assassins in history all made their names by assassinating emperors.

The number one assassin on the leaderboard, a senior assassin from the Ancient Times code-named Number One, even accomplished the feat of assassinating a Human Emperor. That’s how he earned the title of the greatest assassin in history.

If someone can successfully assassinate the Emperor’s Blood, they will surely become the new generation’s greatest assassin."

Su Han looked at him. "Then do you know who the Emperor’s Blood you’re supposed to assassinate is?"

Fifth Six Seven nodded. "I asked around before I came. The person’s name is Su Han, a Crown Prince of the Jing Country’s royal family."

Su Han: "..."

’So he really is after me?’

’And... it sounds like there are quite a few people coming after me.’

Just as he was thinking this, he suddenly saw Fifth Six Seven look up at him and ask belatedly,

"By the way, I still don’t know your name!"
