Skill Trees Are Everywhere
Chapter 128: So Big! So White!
The young lady was bewildered. She subconsciously looked down at her own chest. Where was there a necklace?
Her necklace was clearly hidden inside her clothes. How could he possibly see if it was big or small? Moreover… her necklace wasn’t even that big!
Her hands unconsciously moved to block her chest.
“Ah, no, I mean… your clothes are really white, Miss,” Su Han said.
The young lady glanced at her aqua-blue dress and looked at Su Han suspiciously. She wondered if this guy was blind. However, she immediately dismissed the thought.
“A really big necklace? Really white clothes?”
“Really big! Really white!”
As she pondered over his words, her face flushed red. She shot Su Han a vicious glare and muttered under her breath, “Pervert.”
“Chu Liu, do not be rude!” the Wang Family Patriarch scolded from the side. He turned to look at Su Han, his expression rather unpleasant.
“Han, what nonsense are you spouting?” Emperor Jing looked at Su Han, a thoughtful glint in his eyes.
“Ah?” Su Han pulled his gaze away from the young lady’s chest and faced his uncle. “Uncle, I encountered an assassin today and was frightened. My Heart Spirit is somewhat shaken…”
“Hm?” Emperor Jing’s expression changed. His figure blurred, instantly appearing by Su Han’s side. “Han, you encountered an assassin? Are you hurt?”
“Rest assured, Uncle. Su Xiao’Er caught the assassin in time. Your nephew only suffered a little fright and wasn’t injured.”
Emperor Jing grabbed Su Han’s hands and inspected him up and down. He didn’t seem to have any external wounds. After sending a pulse of Spiritual Power to check and finding no internal injuries either, Emperor Jing finally felt somewhat relieved.
“Tell your uncle exactly what happened in detail.” Emperor Jing’s eyes flickered with divine light, his imperial aura fully unleashed. “I want to see who has the sheer audacity and a death wish to assassinate a member of the Jing Country royal family.”
Su Han shook his head. “It was just a third-rate little assassin. He was probably desperate for fame. His strength wasn’t that great, and Su Xiao’Er caught him. However, that little assassin had quite the knack for escaping. I wasn’t paying attention for a moment, and he managed to slip away.”
Emperor Jing’s face darkened. “He escaped?”
Su Han nodded and chuckled. “You don’t need to worry about it, Uncle. I already know the assassin’s identity. Finding him won’t be difficult.
“But let’s put that aside for now. Your nephew got some good things while out playing this time, and I rushed right over to offer them to you the moment I got back.”
“Oh?” Emperor Jing gave Su Han a surprised look, his eyes growing even more thoughtful as he secretly nodded. “Then let your uncle see what good things Han brought back this time. As for the assassin, let Xiaozzi send someone to investigate first.”
Su Han nodded. He moved his hand to brush his Storage Ring but suddenly paused halfway through the motion, glancing at the Wang Family father and daughter nearby.
The two understood his meaning. Glancing at Su Han, Patriarch Wang cupped his hands toward Emperor Jing. “Su, my daughter and I are a bit exhausted from our long journey, so we won’t disturb you any longer.”
Emperor Jing smiled and nodded. “Xiaozzi, go arrange accommodations for Patriarch Wang and Miss Wang.”
“Yes.” Eunuch An nodded and led the father and daughter out the door.
The moment they stepped out, Wang Chuliu felt a heated gaze land on her chest. She turned her head and met Su Han’s slightly guilty eyes.
“Hmph!” The Thirteenth Miss snorted in displeasure and glared fiercely at him.
“Chu Liu.”
Hearing her father’s voice, the Thirteenth Miss merely pouted and marched off in a huff.
The door was closed from the outside by Eunuch An. Now, only Emperor Jing and Su Han remained in the room.
“You little rascal. Speak, what exactly is going on?” Pulling up two chairs, Emperor Jing handed one to Su Han and sat down in front of him, assuming a posture ready to listen to a story.
“Hehe! Your nephew’s little schemes really can’t be hidden from you, Uncle.”
Emperor Jing rolled his eyes in exasperation. “Your uncle is only in his forties; I’m not senile yet!
“This morning, you looked as if you wouldn’t rest until this marriage arrangement was annulled. Yet this afternoon, you’re ogling the girl like a pervert. Your attitude changed a bit too fast.”
“Hehe! You are wise, Uncle. Don’t they say first impressions are very important? I had to leave a deep first impression on her, right?”
Emperor Jing glared at him. “Stop being glib and get down to business. What exactly happened?”
Su Han thought about it. Since there was nothing he needed to hide, he explained everything regarding the Enhancing Potion and numbers Five, Six, and Seven.
SWISH!
Hearing Su Han mention that the Assassin’s Alliance had issued an assassination mission against him and that many assassins might flock to the Imperial City in the near future, Emperor Jing shot to his feet.
The expression on his face was terrifyingly dark. “I want to see exactly who isn’t afraid of death and dares to do such a thing.”
Su Han looked at his uncle, wondering if his focus was a bit off. They were just a few assassins; how much trouble could they really cause? He had messed around blindly and actually succeeded in creating an Enhancing Potion, giving Jing Country the hope of building an invincible army. Shouldn’t that… be the main point of focus?
“Uncle, isn’t your focus a little off? It’s just a few assassins…”
“Bullshit!” Emperor Jing glared at him. “What Enhancing Potion? Could that possibly be more important than your safety?”
Su Han was speechless. He wondered if he was really that important.
“This won’t do!” Emperor Jing paced back and forth. After walking a few circles, he grabbed Su Han and pulled him up. “Come, go to the Imperial Mausoleum with your uncle.”
“Go to the Imperial Mausoleum for what?” Su Han asked, bewildered.
“Since there has already been one assassination attempt, other assassins might appear at any time. Given Su Xiao’Er’s strength, how could he possibly guarantee your complete safety? Come with me to the Imperial Mausoleum; we are going to ask the Eighth Duke to come out and protect you personally.”
Su Han smiled bitterly. “Is that really necessary? Isn’t the Eighth Duke supposed to guard the Imperial Mausoleum?”
Besides, the Eighth Duke was only in the Celestial Human Realm. If Su Han faced a danger he couldn’t resolve himself, neither the Eighth Duke nor the Ninth Duke would be able to stop it either! Moreover, he always had Su Yi by his side. With her around… any fool with a death wish who came would just be serving themselves on a silver platter!
Hearing Su Han’s words, Emperor Jing thought for a moment and nodded. “True… the Eighth Duke still needs to guard the Imperial Mausoleum, and his strength is…”
He hesitated for a moment before gritting his teeth. “It seems I can only trouble the old man to endure a bit of hardship.”
Muttering to himself, Emperor Jing grabbed Su Han’s hand and headed outside.
Seeing his uncle acting as if he were facing a formidable enemy, Su Han couldn’t help but feel he was overreacting.
“Uncle! Uncle, don’t rush. Your nephew already has a plan for this!”
Holding his uncle back, Su Han explained his plan.
Emperor Jing pondered for a moment before looking at Su Han. “You suspect… that this Assassin’s Alliance mission is connected to the Wang Family?”
Su Han met his gaze. “The people of the Wang Family didn’t come earlier or later; they just had to arrive at this exact time. And the moment they got here, the assassin followed right behind them.
“Uncle, who do you think is the most likely mastermind behind this?”
